Nice atmosphere, burgers/pulled pork inspired meny and a huge variety of vodka. The food was good and came fast, I had the smoked burger and side order of sweet potato fries. The wine list was tiny and the pinot noir is not recommended. Think it would’ve received an additional star if I was the vodka type…

Two friends and I enjoyed dinner at Revolution, after a day of the ‘Beatles Story’ Museum and a Fab Four black cab tour of significant Beatles-related sites in Liverpool. The place has a fun, friendly and slightly funky vibe, with seating at ‘the front of the house’ facing the canal and houseboats, and the ‘back of the house’ facing the inner harbor. Both sides are nice, though each has a slightly different feel — the front being a little more formal, and the back featuring a nice looking bar. Both sides allow you to order from the same extensive menu. Each of my friends ordered margarita pizzas — one added red onions; the other added avocado, greens and olives. Both ate every last piece. I had fish and chips, mainly because we were right there on the Mersey and I hadn’t yet had fish and chips during my visit. I received a large well-battered and crispy piece of fish, plus chips, served with a small shaker of salt and a small shaker of vinegar. I also received a container of tarter sauce and a small bowl of mashed peas. I really enjoyed all of it. For drinks, we all ordered coffees because we had been walking around in the cold rain for over a hour and needed to warm up, and because we needed to drive back to Alcester, over 2 hours away. I had a cappuccino which was large and very well done; my friends had a black tea(with pot of hot water) and an Americano, also a generous-sized cup. I picked up the tab since my friends drove and paid the gas; overall it was just under 40 pounds, including the tip I gave the waiter because he was very happy, helpful and friendly. I would definitely go back, and highly recommend dining here, especially if you are at Albert Dock to enjoy the Beatles!

I booked for a hen party via the website but found the process fairly difficult. I submitted my request on the Friday and requested a call back to discuss further on the Sunday. I wasn’t called at all. I finally received an email from them about 10 days later. As I was working on something pretty last minute it became fairly stressful. I called them using the number on the email and got through no problems, paid the deposit and confirmed the food order of «party nibbles» and a shot stick to be placed on the table. I was told I’d get a call to pay the balance the week before and advised that there was a minimum spend of £250 for the booth for the evening. At this point I was not made aware I was expected to pay that upfront. The day of the hen party arrived and no one had called me, so I had to call them from the train, when I was then told the remaining balance was not the £49 I’d expected for pre-ordered food and drink but £200. Luckily I could cover it but I was disappointed that hadn’t been made clear. I also had to ask what the party nibbles included, as at no point had I been told or sent a menu. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the food offering! For a reasonable price we were able to tuck into two flavours of pizza, mini burgers, breaded prawns, sweet potato fries, chicken skewers and garlic flatbreads. The burgers and chicken were really decent! The cocktails were also great. Bar service was slow but the guy who served us was pleasant. Overall the experience was a little stressful during booking but alright on the night :-)

Great service, okay cocktails, unfortunately the Christmas buffet was really sub par. The chicken and turkey were exceptionally dry, not sure how long they marinate their stuff but it sure it tasted of Iceland. Real shame, amazing venue and ambiance otherwise.

I would normally wait until after eating to leave a review but I am currently sitting here waiting for my food and I’m starting to get extremely bored. Slow service, slow at the bar and poor service. I obviously cannot comment on the food but I’m afraid by the time I receive my food, anything would taste good. One star because the toilets were clean I would recommend this restaurant if you’re not very hungry, thirsty and have 2 hours spare with nothing else to do with your life

Visiting Liverpool for the first time. Decided to go grab a bite… Place had 4 stars so decided to give it a try… I should’ve read the reviews more carefully… Service is slower than tea time. Glad I did not order alcohol drinks, since it took over 15 min for a coke to arrive and another 15 min for the refill(I mean extra coke — no refills) to arrive after I asked two different staff. Burger meat did not have a good taste. I could only eat a portion of it. I would not recommend this place for service or food.

Came here on a day out in Liverpool looking for some tasty grub and cocktails! So the reason why its down to 4 stars is because of the irritating seating arrangements they have here. Being a beautiful day on the docks, everyone wants to sot in the sun. After being told the available seats(in the sun) were reserved we asked if we could be next up for a table in that glorious sunshine. We were told yes absolutely you’ll be next ‘I promise’. This was a barefaced lie as the waitress then proceeded to give the next tables away to anyone she pleased. This was annoying as we had picked this place not for the food but for the sun!!! Anyway we eventually after catching the waitress once note reminding and asking her had she lost her memory, we got said table in the sun! From here on in it was a pleasant, and great experience just like its supposed to be! Having not fancied a bit meal I opted for a few sides: the Mac n cheese, bread shrimp and some sweet potato fries. All of these were AMAZING and so tasty. We also got a couple of cocktails, mine was the strawberry mojito– v tasty! Apart from the table situation we had a great time with Fab cocktails n food in the sun however revs you need to sort your tables out!

My favourite place in all on Liverpool to relax and have good and cocktails with friends. In the day you can sit in the sun and have table service and at night the place comes live with live DJs and lights. The bar is very unique and the authentic brick work and comfy cushions set the scene. I would advice sitting in the booths as they are comfy and also get a revs reward card for 2 pound for a year you can have 2 for 1 cocktails pizzas and hotdogs all the time bar Saturday night and you get 50% off food on Wednesdays !! Not to mention a free pair of boxers with your card!

Looking for somewhere within easy distance to Blundell Street Supper Club prior to a recent hen do with the other half’s family, we quickly decided on the Revolution at the Docks. With the sun streaming down on Liverpool, it was hardly surprising that the place was rammed; we eventually found each other, and a table near the front of the bar, and settled in for a few drinks. There was another, much larger, hen do taking up a large portion of the bar with cocktail making and games, so I’d assume that generally it would be a bit easier to get a seat — and a bit quieter! As we were sat near the door, we got consistently blasted with the increasing wind from outside, but a quick word with the guy on the door and he was happy to ensure it was shut behind those coming in and out. I had two cocktails in the duration of our stay, one raspberry mojito — and, from experience at Revs de Cuba in Manchester, I can confirm that she did indeed activate the mint! — and a ‘hoochy mama’. I hate ordering cocktails with these ridiculous names, but I am becoming a fan of hooch, so was intrigued by the combination of this alcoholic lemonade, gin and elderflower. A dependable chain for a few good drinks with friends, but not a destination bar for me.

How many Revolution bars are there in Liverpool?!? I swear that there are more of these places than seagulls in town. So, I suppose you have to ask yourself why are there so many in one place? Well, if you’re a national chain, consumer demand will very much dictate where you locate your branches and how many you have in any given town. Judging on how packed every one of these Revolution bars there are around Liverpool, it does not look like they will be closing any branches soon! I have said it before, and I’ll say it again, I have no problem with large chains that know what they are doing, offer good value for money and retain some individuality to each of their branches. I think that Revolution does this very well indeed. The drinks that they have on offer here are far more than I could ever explore on one evening, and the staff do seem to be trained to a very high degree, as the drinks are on the whole, made very well. Having said that there are many of these Revolution bars in Liverpool, I must say that this one in the Albert Dock is my favourite. It does retain a lot of the character of the original dockside building, and if you face out towards the water does provide you with a nice view as you sample some of their cocktails here. If you venture outside for some air at one point in your visit to this branch, you may see the outcome of one of the many full-on Hen Parties here… Loads of vomit!

First time at this Revolution. Earlier this year I visited the one in Blackpool not far from the front. You start to compare then realised what I was doing… you cant compare. despite the fact the ‘chain’ has bar/restaurant up and down the country they all have their own twist. I was in Liverpool this weekend and wanted to make the most if the view and atmosphere at Albert Dock before going home. We had a lovely table by the window, attentitive staff, gorgeous cocktails and fabulous food. Thank you!

Another one? Christ, how many’s that now? A billion? Such was my snotty reaction upon finding out that there was a new Revolution in town. However, it was unfounded since place was really quite pleasant, at least in the day when I visited. I’m unsure if portions of the Albert Dock are grade-listed or whatever but I often find the bars there are nigh on impossible to differentiate. They’re identical layouts, with identical stone floors and identical prices that make your eyebrows fly off your forehead and splat on the identical ceilings. With its curved, leather booths, glass wall overlooking the docks and burgers that actually look like you want them to, there’s nothing but the stratospheric costs of drinks to make you hate this Revolution. The staff were all very helpful too which was a lovely, if slightly disconcerting, surprise and the vases used ice cubes instead of liquid water. I don’t know why that impressed me so much but it did. I’m a cretin.

Revolution is not an independent store indeed there is more than one just within Liverpool but this particular bar in the dockside area really left a lasting impression on me so much so that I felt I would write it a kind review. The best thing here is the location which as with anywhere around the docks is just perfect and really adds something to your experience when you are out for either a quick drink, a night out or even a bite to eat. The drinks are a little expensive here but I just felt that the atmosphere here was so much friendlier than other Revolution bars I had visited and this really impressed me. The atmosphere was lively and the place is always busy but I was served quickly and the staff were great so I was left feeling more than a tad impressed. If you’re going to go to a Revolution make sure you choose this one it will be a choice well made.

OK, it’s a revolution and yes they are all pretty much of a muchness so we all know what we are getting from them here, however, I did think it was worth including this venue because of its location. Cheap shots aplenty, pretty decent burgers and various offers on different days of the week have ensured the Revolution Bars have become a very popular staple to many urban nights out. But with a very overlooking the Mersey from The beautiful Albert Dock this place does have something that the other chains don’t. These bars are usually rammed come Friday and Saturday nights but on a summer evening the pavillion provides a good place to party in this historic location.
