Great food, great service and fabulous looking scenery from our table And to top it all off the best steak I have ever had! I have eaten steaks up and down my own country(Ireland) and this steak has beaten them all

Very nice place, with excellent view of the Albert Dock! I visited twice and I had the cheeseburger and the smoked burger, each accompanied with fries and a small glass of wine. The quality and the portion of the foot was great and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely recommended if you are planning to dine at the Albert Dock. :)

Being a massive fan of a good steak, and hearing good things about miller and carter, I couldn’t wait to give it a try! We had booked a table for 7pm so was a little busy when we arrived! We were seated in a nice booth tucked away from the hustle and bustle which was nice! Whilst waiting for the rest of our party to arrive we were not offered a drink and when going to the bar was told it was table service only! After 20 minutes we were finally approached to by a waiter to take our orders(yay!) We ordered drinks which arrived another 20 minutes later, after being sat on the bar for some time! Food arrived, and was initially mixed up by the waiter — he clearly didn’t know his sirloin from his rump! Steak was cooked and presented well, portion sizes are adequate. I made 3 attempts to ask for french mustard — was given ketchup, then english mustard before giving up! For its reputation and the price we paid, I would expect staff to be a little more attentive and knowledgeable! Next time, I would probably give Miller & Carter a miss! Very average…

A very nice area brings along not so very nice prices, Miller and Carter is a relatively well known name /chain ! To bluntly start the review overpriced and awful service is the theme throughout. For a table of 5 on a Saturday night for a single drink and a main meal it came too £130 practically 4 X steaks and a burger of what I can say only reasonable quality produce, still as I write this review I’m still quite miffed at the quality Service is dire, 4 times asked for water for the table 5 different servers and then when we asked for mayo and French mustard we got ketchup then English mustard at which point I gave up trying! Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and 10 of those sitting at the bar! Won’t be returning in the near future

I went here a few weeks ago with a friend as a pre-holiday catch up. Yes, I am a little behind with my reviews, but in my defence I have been super busy. Since we weren’t organised to book and it was a Sunday afternoon in August, we couldn’t get a table in Gusto(our first choice) so we wandered along Albert Dock to here. We were looked after pretty quickly and shown to our table. The waitress was very bubbly throughout our visit. I went for a glass of the Malbec — it was nice so I had another glass — and my friend at the Pinot Grigio and she also had another glass so must have been good. Food wise, I had the sweet potato and red bean burger which was nice but not out of this world. There were quite a few chips. My friend had fish and chips, which she enjoyed. Instead of dessert, my friend had a coffee and I had a chocolate martini. It wasn’t as chocolately as I would have liked but it was nice and I drank it all. Overall, it was a pleasant visit but I’d probably want to try other places in Liverpool before returning. Not that there was anything wrong, it was just… at the risk of sounding like Simon Cowell… very average.

So it was my dear Nans little birthday celebration and like a good grandson I took her and my mum for lunch. It was like being on day release from the local hospital. The 2 of them have some many food needs but will continually say«we are not bothered it’s up to you» so I took charge after I got the ‘this better be good look’ i decided on this little place. It’s quite deceiving as when you enter there is a large long bar to right and plenty of seating but then through the doors to the left is the restaurant which was also surprisingly large. I like the fact it was a mixture of couples. Birthday meals. Family dining. And clearly a day out of the local bingo team. We were soon seated and as it was a table for 3 we actually got a decent round size table rather than to be squashed on table designed for 2. There was a good wine menu and it was good value for money. We had the rose. Blush. Zinfandel. Very fresh. Full of flavour. Very nice little taste Food wise. There was a fixed menu 1 course for under £8 or 2 for under £12 or the main menu. Lots of choice. I opted for the fillet steak. Not on the fixed menu. He he he. It was gorgeous. Tender. Melted in the mouth. Didn’t do sweet potato fries so I had skinny fried and a delicious chunky salad on the side. my Nan bless her who is fussy about everything had the gammon. Was a great size with fluffy mash and a perfect egg. My mum opted for Sea Bass due to her strict diet(ha not sure how the wine features in the diet but I’m saying nothing). That was also fresh and smelt divine. Our waitress was amazing. Drinks came within minutes. We never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for food. They didn’t rush us but they anticipated our needs. All in all for 3 people 3 courses each. Drinks and wine and good tip less than £100. I would so recommend it if you are going down the Albert Docks

I had heard about this chain in Birmingham. I thought it was an upscale steakhouse but I personally would not label it as one. This one is located in the popular Albert Docks. We didn’t have reservations but they sat us immediately for a late lunch. First, it felt like they didn’t want us in the restaurant. It is pretty big and there were quite a few open tables. Yet they sat us at the closest table to the door. We had a direct view of the bar and kitchen making it frustrating when we saw our cocktails sitting on the bar alone with nobody delivering them. The drinks were on special for £4.95 as it was before 7pm. I had an awesome cocktail called something like Grey Goose Fizz. It was sweet and limey served in a lovely champagne glass. It was so good I had 2! We had two starters, nachos and garlic bread. The nacho chips is what made the dish great. They were like a combo of tortilla chips and pitta bread. Garlic bread was standard. For a main, I had fillet wellington with a side of lobster mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was almost £5 extra and had maybe 2 bites of lobster. Quite a disappointment. The Wellington was tasty but not the best I’ve ever had. Plus for a «medium» steak it was cooked too long for my taste. This place was expensive and did not leave me with a strong desire to return. I want to give 2.5 stars but can’t so I rounded it up. The bathrooms were extremely filthy too which is disappointing for a place marketed so upscale. Perhaps it was just an off day for them.

Miller & Carter — hmmmm how to write this review. I’ll just do a play by play. We had reservations for dinner on a Friday night. When we arrived we were told that there would be a bit of a wait. No problem — we’ll just head next door for some cocktails. We were promptly seated an hour later than our reservations. Our server greeted us in a timely manner and we placed our wine & appetizer orders. Our wine was brought quickly and it was agreeable. Our main courses were placed. Then the wait started. Waiting, waiting, and more waiting. It was a good thing we were deep in conversation and had some yummy wine! Needless to say — our waiter finally comes over and states that our main courses were being plated. Did you forget something little sir? Oh yeah, shit, so much for trying out our yummy starters. A few moments later dinner arrives. My filet(done blue) was so tender and scrumptious. It made my mouth happy. Unfortunately the sides were a bit flat and didn’t do the steak justice. My friends Seared tuna steak was subpar for sure. I know you’re a steak house, but don’t serve things if you can’t prepare them well. Then to top it off — we ordered a second bottle of the same wine since we liked it so much. They bring us a different vintage and pour it right over the good one. Bad form! They did try to make it up to us with a bottle of champane. So good work on trying to resolve the issue. Just learn and do better next time. I have to say overall we could have had a better experience. I’m hoping this was just a bad night for them. Too bad I won’t be in Liverpool again to give them a second chance.

I visited M & C on Tuesday 20th December 2011. I had a prawn cocktail for starter in the hope that one day I would get a good one. The prawns were better than expected, the iceberg lettuce as boring as ever. The bread with it was unusual a hollowed out baguette I would say ie no bread just crust. The butter was as hard as nails so would not spread. Why do they do that? The main course was 8oz sirloin steak which came with chips/fries and salad. The salad was a section of iceberg lettuce(size of an apple) with either mayonnaise or salad dressing squirted on it with something like smoky ham strips. This was horrible and I only tasted it. What the chef was doing I don’t know. The steak however was possibly the best steak I have had for years and the chips/fries were good enough. The waitress unfortunately had no personality but served me well. Cost of above £32.60 including a bottle of Bud(Yuk poor choices on offer) and a glass of good red wine. Had I just had the steak and chips and wine I would have given it nearly 5 stars. The salad was a complete disaster.

What can I say about Miller & Carter but YUM! The food is divine and if you love steaks, then THIS is the PLACE to go!!! I went for the first time just before it opened and we had a wonderful meal at a special price, as it hadn’t officially opened. The staff, the service, the steaks were all excellent and I have been back again and the food was even better. I would happily recommend anyone to go to this restaurant and enjoy! The only downside is the carpark costs, but there is nothing the restaurants, etc can do about that, but you can always use public transport, especially if you want to have a drink or two!
