Came in off the beach for a beer and ended up staying for a couple of hours, ordered a bunch of appetizers. So delicious. The food here is very good and the service friendly and professional. The tuna tartare is amazing.

Beautiful view and friendly staff. On the slow side but not a complaint as island time is something visitors should adjust to. Ceviche was solid not amazing and passion fruit monito was delish. Definitely a spot worth coming for some quiet time.

This is my second time here, great breakfast, wonderful service, amazing view! Had the basics, bacon & eggs, my eggs were cooked perfect. Along with a mimosa! The service was & always is friendly. On the way out the outside bar was opening for Happy Hour 1 – 6, Carlos was the server & made some great drinks, had a Sangria, which he warned had a lot of alcohol in it, was like punch.

We stayed at this hotel during our visit to PR and only enjoyed drinks here but the food smell ed delicious. The staff is fairly quick with your orders and people came in frequently from outside the hotel to eat. The dining area is small and has a great view of the ocean as the waves crash into the sea wall below the windows.

Stayed at the hotel this week! The food was very delicious! Great view of the water and are able to literally sit on their patio ONTHEBEACH! It was so beautiful to watch the sunset. The service was SLOW but the food was good! No re-fills on drinks but it was such a relaxing atmosphere, I enjoyed my experience!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. One afternoon tried several appetizer and all delicious. Bartender knew drinks. Mostly known for their hotel establishment. This restaurant sits on the beach of island Puerto Rico; end of the island in a closed community. Main courses dressed as beautiful as the appetizers. Locals mainly, vacationers look for this unique establishment. You will not be sorry.

Stayed for one night, got two free drinks of sangria on arrival. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful, though the bar and restaurant is absurdly overpriced. Paid about $ 70 for some eggs toast and mimosas. Rooms were plagued with Mosquitos and generally uncomfortable. Nice location, cheap, but probably not worth it.

Excellent restaurant. Staff was courteous and helpful. Food was great. We were here for lunch aftwr getting off a cruise ship. We had one more night on the island and Uvva was suggested to us by the check in staff at Tres Palmas Inn. We had the sautéed calamari, a side salad and the Fettuccini Carbonara. They were all excellent. Perfect flavors and all fresh vegetables. The view is amazing. Loved watching the wind surfers and kite surfers.

I stayed at Hosteria del mar 4 years ago with my girlfriends and had a wonderful week-long vaca. My boyfriend and I just visited the island again and we walked from our condo down to what I remember to be a beautiful, hidden gem. It was sad to see the beach almost all washed away from the flooding they had this past winter. However, I cannot speak highly enough about the food. It was just as I remembered it, and better! It was our last night, so we went all out. First off– Passion fruit mojiots– Out of this world! We had an abundance of them. Patio seating on the ocean cannot be beat. It’s beautiful at night. The waitstaff was so friendly and attentive. Food. We didn’t do main meals, but had the Fritter sampler, Ceviche, and Chorizo Duet. Enough food to OVER stuff us, plus took some home! The fritters were so rich and delicious. The Ceviche was the freshest we had our whole trip… and all the ones we had we thought were ‘the best.” The Chorizo Duet was explained to us by the waiter as, «one hell of a flavor explosion in your mouth» and he was absolutely correct. We finished our meal with deep fried coconut encrusted cheesecake. Disclaimer, I eat dessert with every meal, hated coconut before visiting the island and never usually get the«deep-fried» food choice and OMG. Best dessert we had on the island, maybe even the best anywhere! I cannot even explain it… just GETIT! Great place on the water, not many options like this. Quiet, nice ambiance and very quaint. Great food and great people! Thanks for a great last night in Puerto Rico! See you next trip!

Plus: Location is right beside the beach including some tables on the sand. So, obviously there is an incredible view. Minus: Service… painfully slow. The execution of the food is not up to the price although the quality seemed fresh. We had the Fritter Sampler, which was a bunch of fried stuff with little meat and way too expensive for what we got. Ceviche — thinly sliced fish instead of cubed fish that I’m used to seeing. It wasn’t marinated in the liquid long enough so was lacking flavor… but at least the fresh tasted fresh. Chef Salad — basically a spinach salad which was probably the best thing we ate… Would only return for drinks due to the incredible view and lounge area…

The food is great and is right on the beach. You can seat in a table in the sand, in the restaurant with a water view or outside. It has a full bar with a chill spot. Very very relaxing place to eat or drink. I did not stay overnight, so i cant rate the rooms. Great for a couples retreat or someone just looking for a relaxed spot. Call or email Rest and bars hours.

Lovely atmosphere, we come here every time we are in town. Sad to see the beach has completely eroded away and has limited the outdoor seating due to sea spray. The food here is good, but it’s more about the atmosphere. We had a Gustazo for here and we added an amazing shrimp and bechemel ball appetizer and a bottle of champagne. Was disappointed that they rang in each entrée $ 14 over the posted menu price and auto grat 20 percent.

I’m giving them 3 stars but really in my in-meal angst, I would like to give them 2. Amazing atmosphere right on the beach, delicious food but terrible service… And I mean terrible! Upon walking in, not one employee acknowledged us. They walked by us as if we were invisible so we made he assumption that we seat ourselves. We then sat there for fifteen minutes straight without anyone coming over to us. They just kept walking by us and helping other tables. We finally got the menu and didn’t receive water for another fifteen minutes. A half hour before getting anything on the table. Then waited another ten minutes to order. Then when we were done with our meal(which I’m sitting here right now writing this)… They didn’t come to our table for 20(and counting) minutes. We have clearly finished our meal and even semi-bussed our table. No check… Just waiting. Not sure if they’re just understaffed but there seems to be no genuine desire to offer solid service here. I guess being on the beach gives them a free ticket to be lazy. It’s a shame because they have the capability to get 5 stars if their service didn’t force you to have hours to spend sitting down.

The three star rating seems generous. However, I’m basing the rating on the restaurants view and the food. The service was almost non existent! Upon arriving, no one greeted or even acknowledged that we had been seated. After waiting extensively, without even a glass of water; we quickly made our menu choices when it did arrive. They are totally understaffed, while other tables glasses were being removed; they were actually being placed at the bar.(Lazy) and there was no uniform table ware, all of the glasses were different — probably because they weren’t washing them as they were being removed! The food was fresh, not greasy, and very tasty. They gave adequate portions and it was well presented. While the view was amazing and the music was lovely, hopefully they can speed up their service and hire a couple of people. Would have loved to see his place at night while the sun sets.

The hotel bar/lounge is an awesome location to enjoy some tasy food and drinks. The décor is really nice too. I would definitely come here again despite the slow service.

I find the high rating here shocking. Nothing went well with our visit. The were out of many dishes and sides. The sangria was bitter. The food was over salted. Portions were small. Prices were high. I think the tourest traffic make places like this lazy. Dont go.

My husband took me to this restaurant to celebrate our first wedding anniversary when we were staying in San Juan. This restaurant was suggested by our hotel person. When we got this place, we thought that this place looks like a boat house. But when the waiter took us to the table on the beach, it was so nice and romantic view from the table where we sat. The menu was very decent. It has chicken, beef, pork and Pasta. Everybody can find something to eat from the menu. We went there on Feb.12th. They were doing Valentine’s special menu. It was three course menu; Appetizer, Main course and dessert. I had Rib eye steak. I love it. My husband had salmon. It was very nicely baked. The dessert was fantastic. Forgot to mention! I loved the drinks. I had watermelon sangria. It was so fruity. Great service and Great food. Also this place is a little bit from away from the big commercial hotel areas. Therefore, it has nice cozy and at home atmosphere.
