This place has so much potential it hurts to see how terrible it is run. I mean they serve piña colada in a pine apple great concept. But takes forever to be waited on always understaffed. Entertainment each night is random and I am pretty sure staff pockets money receipts are hard to come by if get my drift. Anyway pineapple piña colada was good.

Ok I’m on vacation and wanted to get a piña colada in a pineapple. Yes it’s a tourist thing to do but it makes me happy. Well this place has them and I should have just had my pineapple drink and left. I would have been happy. Well we wanted to try something typical of Puerto Rico so we had the mofongo made with yuca no meat in this one. Talk about dry as a bone and slow. There was one other couple in the whole place. Not sure what the cook was doing back there. I think it’s on purpose so you order more drinks. Oh and when we asked for some sort of sauce they gave us Tabasco. Anyway to top it off their credit card machine was not working… oh but their atm machine in their place was working just fine… Humm coincidence? Well bottom line get the pineapple drink and go somewhere else for food.

I can’t believe some of the poor reviews. Maybe we just got lucky, but, we really enjoyed the outside café. The pizza was Yummy. Our server was a great guy and took his time to tell us about the traffic and what they would like to see happen in the city. It is a great spot to people watch and there are some great sights to see!!!

Extremely mediocre and overpriced food. Everything was dry or bland. Service is horrendous. The kicker is that they include the tip automatically on the bill. Skip this place. Wish I had checked Unilocal beforehand.

Excellent food! I had the breaded mahi mahi and it was delicious. Their sangria is very good also

First two stars are for the helpfulness and friendless of our waiter. Stick to a couple of beers and you are probably ok. Nice place to sit. Food was HORRIBLE. Chicken was bloody inside. Pizza doughy. Just not good at all.

Not sure why they have such a low star rating here… We stopped in for some sangria but ended up ordering the ceviché… It took a while to get our order BUT it’s because we could tell they made it fresh on the spot. Super yummy!!! Waitress/hostess was very sweet and attentive even though she was running around and super busy with other customers. Great people watching spot.

That one star is for the drink specials. That’s it. The food is tasteless. We tried three things. All dry and tasteless. We waited forever. Don’t know if that’s typical or the guy’s having a bad night.

Very good chicken wings and mojitos. Nice outdoor seats. And they have pina colado served in a pineapple which looks very good.

Love the piña colada’s in the pineapple’s! Loved even more that piña colada refills were half off! Enjoyed sitting outside multiple evenings drinking piña colada’s and people watching.

Love this low key spot! I think they’re drink prices are great! 2 for $ 5 Beers! Or, 2 for 1 mojitos I also enjoyed their mint and blueberry hookah! And if you need a little grub after drinking def order their Dominican Pizza! Yummers! I would suggest they keep the restroom equipped with TP and soap!

Piña colada great mix with the fresh flavor(but overpriced). Waitress barely speaks English and we he’d to rely on other guests for translation. Table service too slow and altogether they seemed understaffed in the holiday season.

We came here on a Monday night for a bite to eat. Most places in this are were WAY overpriced because many tourists come here. Moreno’s was decently priced and had way I was craving. We went inside to order a happy hour special and NOONE seemed to want to help us. We had to find a bartender who was on the computer and told her what we wanted. This place was also empty although the restaurants surrounding it were not. We decided to do appetizers and drinks. The drinks were ok, we didn’t feel like there was any alcohol in them. The fried jalapeño was awful. Didn’t have much of a taste at all. We also ordered a sampler that came with tostones and sausage. That was pretty good. Our server was great but the others definitely lacked. We probably will not be visiting again, hopefully you might have a different experience!

I’ve been to Puerto Rico about 7 times and morenos never disappoints. It’s a local spot in old San Juan with great drinks, good customer service, and the food is pretty good considering it’s a sports bar. At night, the music varies but becomes a nice atmosphere to drink and dance.

This place is hands down one of the worst places I’ve ever stepped foot in let alone eat at. If I could rate less than a one I would. Word to ALL avoid this place like the plague unless you: 1. Like paying way more for what the food is worth. 2. Don’t mind wasting 2 plus hours for the wrong orders and or food that is burnt, over cooked and tastes like crap!!! 3. Horrible service and the list could go on. I’m not going to continue wasting my time on this place anymore other than to warn all to stay away!!! Don’t say I didn’t warn you if you dare try this place!

If you like like crappy, overpriced, tourist traps with horrendously slow service this place is for you! If you like rice-a-roni and overcooked fish, come on down! Do you like your simple, cheese quesadilla to take a half hour or more to get, and enjoy waiting at least 15 minutes for a drink you ordered? This is the place for you! If you enjoy having your server never come back to check on you or offer you another round you will love this awful little restaurant. Save yourself some time and money and spare your tastebuds the assault from this place. Just as a side note we ordered drinks here, piña coladas were a whopping $ 13, and no better or larger than any other drinks on the strip.

Just had drinks– not overpriced. Sat and enjoyed fast free wi-fi. Bathrooms not great. Food looked appetizing, but it wasn’t a good time to try. Staff was friendly.

This place really does suck. I would give them one star if they were located on the mainland, but since I got sort of a unique cultural experience out of it, I’ll give them two stars. I was hanging out with another American who has lived here for the past year and she recommended that we go here on a Friday night when I said I wanted to eat at 2 a.m. This place is apparently owned and named after a Dominican man and features Puerto Rican, Dominican, and American food. It’s also a dance club and when we went I saw many young Puerto Rican people in their 20s dressed up for a night out. The extra star is because it was neat to see a night club in Puerto Rico. So what made it suck so bad? Well first of all, there was zero toilet paper in the men’s single stall bathroom. That’s pretty unacceptable at any establishment. When we decided to eat on the patio, it took 10 – 15 minutes to get service since they were understaffed. Our waitress was a sweetheart when we saw her, but the management needs to staff more people when it’s crowded. I decided to order the mofongo with yucca and the fried cheese and was excited to try both. Too bad it took another 30 minutes to come out and was lukewarm when it did. There is also not a microwave at the place I’m staying at, so this food was never going to get hot again. I tried to feed the almost untouched mofongo to a stray cat later that evening who also decided it was not worth eating. Don’t bother with this place if you are looking for somewhere to eat.

+1 on all the«tourist trap» reviews. That really sums it up. Great location — it’s easy to see how it lures people in — but the prices are obscene. «Happy hour» is not happy for your wallet or tastebuds here. Keep walking.
