Our experience was terrible. We split an order of nachos, two cocktails one beer and an order of guacamole… the bill was $ 42!!! We don’t mind spending money for good food but needles to say it was not good. The«fresh made guacamole» tasted old, the«nachos» are just a bowl of chips with a teaspoon of sour cream And a tiny bit of cheese sprinkled on top, not even melted. Oh and we found a faint smear of beans at the bottom. The chips are saturated with so much artificial food color my poop looked like a Christmas tree the next day. Disgusting. On the surface it seems like a cute, fun place to grab a drink but Don’t fall into this tourist trap like we did.

We spent our last meal in San juan here located in viejo San juan. These were the smallest portions we had the entire trip. Everywhere else we went we needed a carryout box. The chips and salsa are not complimentary and we were charged for them even after they got rained on and had to move our meal plates inside. The outdoor scene is very inviting but customer service from our waiter could’ve been better. The drinks are good with nice specials but could’ve been bigger.

My husband, daughter, and I tried to eat lunch here yesterday. There was no wait and for good reason… after we were seated and our order taken, still no food after 50 minutes! We inquired twice during our wait as to when our food would be out as we were on a schedule to get to another activity. We finally paid for our three beers($ 16) and left hungry one hour after being seated! Like cut that one star in half!

Unique place with very artsy indoors. Food was not up to par with the price. Drinks are good. The staff was really slow and had attitude problems towards the customers.

The food just sucks and comes in small portions. We ordered a shrimp entrée, a taco salad and a fish taco entrée. The plate had all small, weirdly put together portions. I asked the waiter if I could get some rice with the taco salad, he said it doesn’t come with the dish. We got that, but the waiter dealt with the entire situation in a very unnecessary, sassy manner. He assumed we were doubting him and brought up the food menu instead of the drinks menu(which we asked for after the rice) and continued to point out that the dish did not come with rice. More importantly, the restaurant is priced way out of its league. There are way better restaurants on the same street so check them out. We originally planned on going to Raices, which is right next door. But we couldn’t go there because it was already closed :(

I would do nachos and drinks here but never order entrees. My fiancé got a rum and coke– very strong! I got a beer, we then got our meals I got the chimichanga. I couldn’t eat the chicken inside of it due to its gray color. It has a dive bar feel and is definitely a drink place. I would say 2.5 stars due to the drinks.

Not sure why the overall rating for this restaurant is so poor, but we had a great meal when we visited. Pros: — really delicious food. Had the chicken breast and pork chop, and both were ridiculously tender. Best I’ve had in a long time. — service was good. The owner chatted with us for a while and help us with a few tourist questions. Con: — had the 15% tip pre-written in when we got our check(we were only 2 people). Weird but we didn’t care since we were going to tip higher originally. Their loss.

Thank you Lupi’s for letting me watch the Gator game while having some beer and some solid pub grub. I was having a huge difficulty finding a place with college football, until I came across this place. They set me up in the back with a GIANT tv and turned on the game I wanted. The servers were super friendly even though I don’t speak much Spanish. In terms of the food, it was solid pub food. We ended up getting the sampler plate with EVERYTHING on it, and I mean EVERYTHING: wings, chicken fingers, quesadilla, nachos, etc. Everything was good, nothing was great and we certainly didn’t finish it, At the end I think it was about $ 40 – 50 for a ton of food, 4 beers and a nice tip to everyone for being so nice. No regrets here!

The wait was short. They had room to slide tables together. This should have been our clue. When we finally received our food, it was mediocre. The service time and attitude was deplorable. Raising your voice when the customer(our friend) asks why he was charged adult price when he ordered off the kids’ menu for his 6 and 8 year old is tactless. Then to cause a scene in a different part of the restaurant when the manager talks to you about it was the nail in the coffin for this review.

Went here on a Tuesday night our last night in PR. Me and my BF had gone to a flamenco show and had tapas and wine however, by the end of the night we were hungry again. When we got there the place was empty inside, there are some tables outside as well. My BF was tired of the Puerto Rican food and wanted something Mexican. they looked like they were about the close but the owner greeted us and said it was okay. My BF ordered fish tacos and he said they were great. I got the grouper fish and wanted it with the Puerto Rican rice which they didn’t have(they only had white) but they still made it for me which was really sweet of them, my fish was good. We drank a few beer and had a good conversation with the owner whom was really nice, good customer service, I would come back.

Great staff. Good margaritas. Food SUCKS! We ate here two years ago and thought we would give it another try because we love Mexican food. EPICFAIL! THEFOODSUCKS! Who screws up fish tacos? Refried beans were rock hard and bland. Grouper was dry in the tacos. Guacamole looked like pea soup with tomatoes. SUCKS.

I wanted a break from the Puerto Rican cuisine so I went with a burger. I also got fried plantains because I just can’t get enough of them here! Food was decent, server was super nice. Manager came over and asked how we were liking everything. It’s a nice place and didn’t have the 20 minute wait of Raices.

Came here three days in a row, the first day was for happy hour(margaritas are the bomb). The second time we ordered food and I had the combination #2(amazing with chicken and the hot sauce here is great). Today is day three and I’m trying the fish burrito and the Lupi’s nacho. This place has not disappointed me yet and I’m hoping it won’t today!

Lets start off with the fact that it’s happy hour all the time! Lol We went here 3 times during are visit to PR and left pleased every time. The staff is polite and sweet and the drinks are delicious. My entrée was only $ 11 for a chicken chimichanga so it’s priced pretty well. Unless something happens before I leave this restaurant it will remain a 5 star review. Update: the guacamole needs a LOT of work and does not taste fresh.

This past week, I was on spring break in Puerto Rico with some friends. We traveled to Old San Juan to visit the city and needed to eat somewhere for dinner. We were aware of Lupi’s because there was one near our hotel in Isla Verde. Let me tell you about this restaurant, it is the best! By far the best meal I had my entire trip in Puerto Rico. There was a happy hour special. My friends and I ordered tequila sunrises, strong yet delicious. Once we ordered our food, the waiter brought us chips and salsa. The salsa was slightly sweet and had corn in it, but was the best salsa I’ve ever had. I ordered chicken tacos which came with beans, rice, lettuce and guacamole. I highly suggest if you ever find yourself near a Lupi’s to try it. On top of the exceptional food, the prices were fair. The employees were extremely nice and helpful when we asked about attractions in the area. The only word of advice I can give is if you have a large group, our waiter could only split the checks into 4 separate ones. Therefore, if you have a big group expecting to pay for each bill, make sure you ask whether they can split your checks before you order.

We arrived super late into Old San Juan PR and were in search for a late resto that’s open. We were heading to Raices but some guy stopped us and told us to try Lupi’s. The place was quite dead. it wast late considering. Freddie was super friendly and chatty. The owner was there too. I had the kankan pork chop and since I don’t have anything to compare it with I thought it was good. after having the same at Raices tonight(disappointingly salty!)…I can say it was really good. Hubster ordered the skirt steak with rice and beans and it was pretty good. The mofongo was too dense and dry for me. Overall a pleasant experience for us and i recommend the place.

I happened to be introduced to Lupi’s as a result of a post cruise tour in which the tour operators happened to stop here, which seemed like this was extremely common as multiple tours buses seemed to stop here. At Lupi’s, there are three options in terms of seating. If you wish to sit outside, they have a nice covered patio, inside dining, and a bar area. Throughout the restaurants, there are several large TVs to sit back and catch up on the scores while enjoying a drink. The food itself was meh. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t exactly thrilling. There was no gluten free menu, but they did have some items that were ok, i.e. steak and rice. Overall, Lupi’s was a more relaxing place that had decent drinks and a TV to gaze while killing time than sitting at the airport terminal waiting to catch a flight.

I asked the waiter about the portion size for the chicken strip appetizer. He indicated that the chicken strips were pretty small however when they arrived they were about twice it’s sizethat he said they would be. Therefore, I ended up with twice the amount of food at about one third more money. They were tasty. And as advertised, not too much breading on the chicken strips. Overall, a pleasant experience in the end. However, instead of tipping the waiter a little bit more I use the money to pay for the appetizer. The beer is cold. And they accommodated me by changing from college basketball to the NBA.
