Can’t say enough great things. But let me start with the staff. They go by far above and beyond to make you feel welcome and they are attentive The food: Great! we had eggplant app with crabmeat sounds like a weird combo but was the best thing I ever tasted trying to share that proved daunting had to order another… drinks were also good Everything was great and to top it off had a live band playing there on the weekend Had a blast and will, be going back soon… highly recommend!!!

Great location! One block away from the beach, and along the main strip where many hotels are located. The food is very tasty and very well priced. They have a great happy hour — from 4pm to 8pm where they give great appetizers and sangrias, for two, for around $ 20. Their drinks are great! Had the grilled octopus, croquets, empanadas, and some other stuff that was all extremely tasty.

Location, location, location. Miro is truly a place that has benefited from their great location on this popular strip. The food is decent though I’d argue slightly overpriced for the actual quality. If you come late night you should expect lots of fist pumping music and the crowd to match it. If you are looking for a place that«the locals eat at» and someone recommends this restaurant… you’ve been lied to. This is a tourist magnet. The prices are a bit premium as a result of this. I was craving seafood which shouldn’t be impossible since, well… Puerto Rico is an island. After a long day at the beach I came by around 5 pm on a Saturday. This was perfect since they also feature a 2 for 1 happy hour special. The staff is pretty nice and friendly, encouraging people that are passing by to come in and dine. The menu offers many interesting options and the taste factor works, but won’t wow you. Final verdict is come if you are passing by, don’t go out of your way to get here.

The boy and I were wondering around San Juan looking for a local restaurant serving fresh non-fried seafood, which shouldn’t be too difficult to find, except on a Monday night that happened to be a public holiday. Damn. Bad planning+no research=walking for hours. We were getting hungry and grouchier by the minute when we stumbled upon Miro, and without noticing that the menu was all in English, probably aimed at all the tourists at the Marriott across the street, we decided to eat there. After we’ve had some water and the desire to kill each other went away, we noticed that all the patrons were American tourists and that the menu was in English only! Never a good sign when you’re looking for a place the locals would go! FAIL! By that time, it was too late to get up and leave, so thinking on the fly, we decided to just have a couple of appetizers before heading somewhere else. We went with half a dozen of oysters and grilled octopus. The oysters were not horrible but also not good. They were not separated from the shell as a proper place would, and there were grit in at least one of them. The octopus was much better in comparison, however, a few of them were still slightly overcooked and rubbery. Overall, not a bad place to stop in to prevent the boy and I from hangry-ness, but I think we can do better in a city by the sea!

We stopped in here in the early afternoon for a snack. It wasn’t busy so the server was attentive. We ordered the grilled seafood appetizer, squid, baby octopus, fish, mussels and clams. Grilled with chopped garlic It was very good! We enjoyed sitting and people watching, the location, food, and service were good although its a bit pricey.

Walked in on a Sunday night. We were craving seafood and Miro was perfect. Friendly staff and good singer performing. The mojito sauce with the shrimp appetizer was very good. Whole red snapper was delicious and the salmon and cheese stuffed pastry special was also so good. We would go back.

I thought this place was so good. We order food to go and had a drink at the bar. The Barender was really nice and told us about the night club after hours. The Chicken and sausage paella was so delicious wish I had get some right now.

Don’t get fooled by this horrible place. From the outside it looks great. Bar and outside sitting area. Looks fun but it wasn’t. Waited an hour for our food that didn’t even taste good. Thirty minutes to make 1 margarita.

Spent 2.5 hours at this restaurant with a party of 8… My review is for dinner on a Sunday… based on my singular experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant Service 1.5 star — After our table looked at menu for 20 minutes, we were informed that the restaurant was out of the following: mahi mahi, crab-cake, codfish, red snapper, and octopus. If you have a chance to review the menu, you will realize that this is about 40% of their entrée items. If we wouldn’t have already been at the table so long, we would have left. The server should have mentioned that they were out of so many items when we arrived… we ordered the calamari, chorizo, and sangria within 20 minute of arriving, and did not receive these items until another 45 minutes. About 40 minutes into the wait(1 hr after arriving), the waitress finally offered us the complimentary bread. not sure how it can take so long for these items to arrive, mostly blame the waitress. Food 2 star — Table ordered many items(however, most were not able to order their original choices due to all of the items that were not available). I had the black rice entrée, which had an okay flavor but really tasted like more of a side item then an entrée. I tried the calamari which was of the quality that you would expect from a $ 5-$ 8 an entrée seafood restaurant in the continental US and was a small portion. the chorizo tasted similar to sliced summer sausage that was grilled with a red pepper(nothing special). the sangria was very muddled looking and had an odd flavor. there was no fresh fruit or wine taste that I am used to receiving Accommodations 2 star — We called ahead and made reservations for 8. When we arrived, they tried to squeeze our eight top onto a table for 6. after we guilted the waitress, she pulled over another table to give us enough room. We sat inside in a glassed porch area that was no air conditioned and at 8pm it was hotter than sitting outside. we should have asked to move, but didn’t want to be an inconvenience. in summary, I visited a seafood restaurant that was out of seafood and had very long wait times for subpar food. would advise tourists to visit other restaurants.

We went to this place after walking up Ashford for a minute. There is outside seating which we partook in. I had a mojito which was fine. The food was just ok, service was good. I really did not have any complaints about this place. It is a great place to people watch.

Wow, this place said it’s a seafood restaurant. All of their seafood dishes werent well below par. the seafood paella, the lobster tail was small, dry, and seemed like it was frozen and old. The black rice, sounds and looks appealing, isnt. Despite a big group, our server was good. as Gally L said, «Also when you need a hot girl out in front to draw in tourists u know this place sucks.» and she was HOT!

This place was terrible. I ordered the black rice seafood dish at their suggestion and the portion was small for the price. Additionally the seafood was not fresh as if it was sitting their all day or over two days as the mussels and shrimps where shriveled up like leftovers left out on a counter with no cover over night. I should have known better when I saw the place was empty during prime dining hours. The place sucked. Also when you need a hot girl out in front to draw in tourists u know this place sucks.

Had dinner here at 7:30 on a Friday night. When we arrived the place was empty, but when we left at 9 pm, it was full. I had the Valencian paella with chorizo, pork, and chicken. The chorizo was excellent but the chicken was dry and the pork lacked flavor. The appetizers(asparagus, and a pear salad) were both good, but nothing extraordinary. Everyone I was with liked their food(churasco steak, seafood paella, filet), but no one raved about it. It’s an easy walk down Ashford from any of the major hotels on that street.

Misses a better review only because I got sick from bad baby octopus from here. Their flan is the best on Ashford and the mushrooms in garlic sauce is outstanding. One of the highlights of my trip was watching the Madrid-Barcelona game here with loud enthusiastic fans while downing strong sangrias and tasty sandwiches. Some of the entrees are expensive, but I stuck to appetizers and brunch items. I would avoid the seafood obviously, but admittedly I broke a couple cardinal rules: don’t order seafood if it’s a special or on a Thursday… ever!

We were staying across the street at the Marriott so we stopped here for brunch since they were advertising brunches for $ 9.95−12.95. As far as brunch, they have about 10 – 12 entrees to choose from. Nothing out of the ordinary just eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. I ordered a spanish sausage concoction. There was shredded sausage on the bottom with a special sauce. This was topped with crispy fries & then finally topped with 2 fried eggs. lol yes it sounds like a hot mess because it really was such an odd concoction. It sufficed as my carb-filled breakfast to start the day. The sausage itself wasn’t so great & the sauce was a too strong for me. I liked the french fries — tasted so good bc they were greasy I believe. However, I don’t want to give a restaurant 5 stars just bc I liked their fries. My boyfriend had 2 fried eggs, bacon, & toast. He liked it but the bacon looked like slabs of fat to me. Fresh orange juice too!

After a few hours of shopping came here bc we were starving, and as we walked by, noticed that there was actually grilled fish and GREENVEGETABLES on the menu(very rare, from our experience in PR) Arrived at 2pm and ordered grilled salmon, asparagus and the mixed rice. There was only one other table occupied. Waiter was very nice, but it took nearly an hour for us to get the two filets of grilled salmon. The waiter periodically came by to tell us the food was on its way and we were like, are they out fishing for the salmon??? The food was great by the time it came, and the asparagus which cost $ 6 turned our to be only two spears per plate. the plate came with mixed rice, very moist with raisins — so delicious i had to take a photo. I gave this place 3 stars because of how long the food took in an empty restaurant and value. The salmon dish was nearly $ 30, plus the $ 6 for two spears of asparagus.

Happy hour is from 4 – 7 and I went on a Monday during that time. 2 for 1 beers($ 5) was fine with me. There didn’t seem to be any deals with food so I used the regular menu to order the scallops appetizer($ 16)…and they were delicious. 3 very large scallops cooked to perfection was a perfect start to my dining experience that night.

Excellent food. I had the cod with chickpeas and tomato sauce. The waiter suggested tostones de pana, or mashed plantains enclosed in plantain chips and fried. I loved them. The flan made my heart flutter. It was creamy and it went really well with the mango and dark chocolate sauce. For whatever reason, there’s a waiter who brings his pet iguana to work. The iguana will lie on a chair in front of the restaurant, while the waiter services tables outside. The iguana sleeps a lot. NOTE: The place moved from Condado Ave. to 1214 Ashford Ave., San Juan. It’s at the corner of Ashford and Caribe, across from the Marriott Hotel.
