This is a good place for a delicious breakfast and a great cup of coffee with refills. I had the lobster benedict. It was savory and great, but do yourself a favor and order a Guava Muffin on the side. A big WARM muffin comes out with guava jelly swirled through it. It is sweet and amazing! And it is the perfect compliment to a savory breakfast, and a strong cup of joe. It was so perfect, I came back another day for the identical breakfast. Oh… and you sit with a view of the waves crashing over the rocks from the ocean right there!

You come here for the view, occasionally get great service(thanks Joseph from Jersey!), and the food is solid, if overpriced. Best bet – the chicken adopao.

For this one we went in for breakfast as we were super hungry and then happened to look at the reviews which were surprising. we had a good experience. view was terrific — looking at the ocean as some have posted the pictures here. we ordered typical american breakfast of eggs and coffee and fruit etc. and liked it. we also tried quesadillas here once when we came back to our hotel quite late and that was decent too. all in all didn’t try a lot to challenge the reviews here but our experience was different in a good way.

The food wasn’t very impressive nor was the service but it was the closest thing around for breakfast.

Really mediocre… Takes a long time to get food even if it is not a cooked item… The Cuban/baguette bread is gr8! Fries were good… They don’t describe the food well enough or the options. Wait staff is accommodating and the view during the day is pretty of the ocean. Décor is old and dilapidated… As was the entire hotel… Was situated next to an abandoned building… Hiltons should be ashamed! Also the restaurant was loud and overpriced. Sorry it is the only one available for breakfast or lunch. They also don’t serve breakfast after 11am… Wanted us to go to Denny’s accord the street… FYI, the tomatoes were flavorless, lettuce on sandwich dirty and wilted… We couldn’t eat the salad… Tasted bad… Overall not a gr8 place… Do yourself a favor & skip this if u can!

This place is WAY overpriced for crappy American food. Staying at the hotel and feel like they should PAYME for eating there. I think they served me spoiled spinach and artichoke dip. I imagine it’s designed for tourists not willing to try new things, so they are willing to to pay out the @$$ for really bad versions of the familiar chicken parm or cheeseburger. Do not waste your time or money.

We are staying in the hotel and were given two complimentary breakfast passes. Arrived around 7:15am and the restaurant was about half full. We are a party of five so they actually opened an additional dining space. Views were definitely the best part of the experience. Our waiter came over and took the drink/food order. We are accustomed to getting our coffee while we wait. Unfortunately, everything came at the same time — almost 40 minutes later! Pancakes were bland. Eggs cooked nicely. Menu prices are a bit high averaging $ 15 a person if not on a free pass. Not worth a return trip…

Meh? Rating breakdown: +1 for having a really nice view of the ocean. Nice to look out and wait for getting your waiter to come by your table –2 for the slow service. Our waiter probably was really good at playing«hide and seek» as a kid. I –1 for being a bit pricey. It’s hotel food for us tourist who are on the go and take advantage of being desperate. +1 for having food that is eatable. Not enjoyable or complete rubbish. Something just to get you going till lunch. I would honestly give them a half rating on this.

Food was pretty good and great service for dinner! I felt like the waiter was serving me a steak the way he served my food(I ordered the café caribe burger)! Yum and friendly service! Pretty decent for a hotel!

Service is fast and the staff tries very hard to please but they all seem kind of green or unsure of themselves. Food is pretty good not great or memorable in anyway. Typical coffee shop fair over priced but ok. My main complaint is a lack of local fair and authenticity. Traveling to Puerto Rico I expect tropical fruits and juices, beans and rice, fish, mango or coconut in the recipes but there was none to be found. It was the same kind of American food you’d find anywhere from Idaho to Oklahoma. There were no uses of West Indian or Creole or even Spanish influenced seasonings. So although the food was ok. It could have been easily much better with even a hint of local influence.

First night in San Juan and just needed some basic comfort food. Nice view of the ocean(not to mention the woman across the table from me) and vanilla décor. Our server was very polite and attentive although he forgot to put in our appetizer order(thankfully was not on bill). Good was decent, chicken sandwich was tender and juicy but burger was just blah. Try the local Medalla brew, very tasty! If you’re in need of a quick bite, this will serve your needs but don’t walk in with high expectations.

Not much to say here — it’s hotel food. :/–However the view of the North Atlantic battering on the rocks is a awesome and powerful sight. Coffee good, but the food is tasteless and bland. Go find food elsewhere.

Café Caribe is your typical hotel eatery. Great views of the ocean, good service and tasty food. I can’t say anything stood out on the menu. Though my skirt steak was tender and savory, the side salad I ordered with it seemed to look a little wilted. More than likely they are pre-plated, hence why it looked and tasted«meh».

4.5 stars! I don’t eat at many hotel restaurants, especially with so many options outside of the hotel to choose from. My best friend and I decided to stop by Café Caribe and grab a drink before heading back to our room. One drink turned into two and some appetizers, including the BEST wings I have ever had… EVER! I asked the manager whose abuela they kidnapped and had in the back cooking those wings! They were juicy and crispy, perfectly seasoned… delicious! The drinks were ok. Not that strong and a little pricey. Might be better off with a beer instead. The staff was awesome! I was losing my voice and telling my best friend that lemon juice and honey usually help with that. They must have overheard me because after I asked the manager for a slice of the lemon she had just cut, our server went in the back to the kitchen to grab a bottle of honey and a spoon. She handed them both to me and says, «Here is your medicine». That was so sweet and I really appreciated the gesture of kindness. This is a great place to get a good meal, incredible service and a fantastic view of the ocean. Check it out! You will not be disappointed.

Since we were staying at the hotel, we decided to grab a quick breakfast before we hit up the beach. Umm, not sure if this place knows the definition of quick, but it was anything but quick. This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a bar and a section where you can purchase coffee drinks, ice cream and sweets. We were seated immediately and we placed our order right after that. It took 35 minutes to bring out our breakfast orders. Mind you, they both consisted of scrambled eggs. The server never came back after we received our order to see if we needed anything. Everyone seemed too busy trying to convert the tables over from breakfast to lunch to assist us. My friend’s pancakes were thick and heavy and tasted identical to cornbread. The eggs that were supposed to be scrambled were fried and hard. On the other hand, the view of the ocean from the dinning room was absolutely gorgeous! That was the best part of the meal… looking out the window. Besides, since we waited so long for our meals, we had plenty of time to gaze out the window. Needless to say, we refrained from eating any other meals from here the remainder of our visit. We did however, stop by for some over priced ice cream from the sweets area of the restaurant. Too pricey for my budget. If I could do it all over again, I would’ve gone across the street to Denny’s. At least my food would’ve turned out better and I would’ve received better service.

Meh. Decent food, but pricey. I guess cuz it’s a hotel. They called it «casual dining», which is code for fast food. We wouldnt eat here again, unless your date is starving and ready to kill you like mine was. LOL

Very disappointed. For a restaurant name Café Caribe, you’d think they would have more Caribbean dishes on the menu. The rice tasted like it had been sitting all day. I ordered soup but they didnt even give me a spoon. This restaurant is located within the Condado Plaza Hilton property but does not live up to the Hilton standard. The waitress was friendly but somewhat incompetent. The guy eating next to us yelling about being a redneck from Alabama took away from the ambiance. Will never eat there again.

Caribe burger– one word– Yessss! I’m so full right now I have to go walk this off. The burger was definitely 5 stars worthy– great need– condiments– and an added plantain to add the Puerto Rican style.

Stopped by for breakfast earlier this morning with my mom. Boo… all the ocean view tables were taken! Our server was friendly and attentive. Food: Denver sandwich was a bit bland and my pancakes were okay Its an average breakfast spot and affordable!

Located on site inside the Condado Plaza Hotel, Café Caribe is a pretty good meal option. I visited twice during my stay — once for dinner and once for breakfast. The restaurant is located on the second floor with beautiful views out over the water, not that we could appreciate this during my first visit as we were catching a very late dinner after arriving at the hotel. I did the churrasco skirt steak and found it to be well cooked and very flavorful when dipped in the accompanying chimmichurri sauce. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the plantains, but I prefer them very ripe and less starchy. My companions at dinner tried the Chicken Parmesan, the Chicken and Rice and the Caribe Burger. The portions for everything were large and everyone seemed pretty happy. My breakfast was just myself and I went for the Breakfast Burrito with Chorizo, which the waiter seemed pleased with and told me is his favorite breakfast item on their menu. The burrito was good, though the eggs were absolutely out of a carton. The chorizo had just enough spice. Overall — pretty good but definitely hotel food. A great, quick option if you don’t want to leave the hotel or simply want to enjoy the view. My only negative might be the endless wait to receive a check — though I can hardly fault Café Caribe alone. Every single place we went to in San Juan, we waited at least 15 minutes to receive the check and usually another 15 to get it settled. While I appreciate not being rushed, perhaps I am just too used to the pace of the mainland and at some meals, the«courtesy» of not being rushed began to feel like being held hostage.
