The Gritti Palace

Five Star Excellence! The service and facilities at the Gritti Palace are first class all the way! Our room was a suite overlooking a canal with the most comfortable bed, Murano glass lighting and bar wear, and a full set of Acqua Di Palma toiletries. The concierge recommended and arranged reservations for us at exemplary restaurants such as CoVino and the hotel’s own renown Club Del Doge, as well as events including Musica a Palazzo operas and tours at Murano glass factories. The bartenders at Bar Longhi serve up the best cocktails the city, especially those of their own creation, and kudos to Mirko for recommending the outstanding meat restaurant Trattoria Da Arturo to us! The staff never missed a beat and satisfied our every need!

I have not actually been here, but I must say, judging off the website this place looks fabulous! Can’t wait until I can actually afford it! Right now I’ve just been hanging out on the outside grounds ;)

Serenissma suite. Designed in an eclectic 19^th century style, reminiscent of the European Grand Tour! composed of a bedroom, spacious living room, luxurious polished marble full and half bathroom. Oil paintings, precious antiques, rich furnishings, natural sunlight from the large windows create a warm atmosphere for our home away from home. These suites celebrate the historic naval power of the «Most Serene Venetian Republic» named from famous naval battles during the Republic’s various Crusades. Zara, Lepanto, Corinto, Cipria, Dalmatia, Padua.

Quite literally it doesn’t get any better. The epitome of service, quality, history, beauty, luxury and majesty, the Gritti is an exquisite hotel. The bar and restaurant have the best view in Venice in my opinion and the room — we were in a suite complete with a salon and 1.5 baths — was the most well appointed I’ve ever stayed in. Antiques and modern conveniences (like a B&O stereo) side by side, an impeccable, courteous staff with not a hint of pretension; I have nothing but lavish praise for this inimitable gem.
