We have been three nights in a row and every single dish was delicious. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and this part of town. I can recommend the Spaghetti Raffaele and the pasta with truffles as well as the loup de mer and turbot.

My wife and I spent 4 nights in Venice staying at a hotel just around the corner. The first night we ate at the place our lives concierge recommended and it was really overpriced, fancy in a pretentious way, and really nothing special. The next night we discovered this place, which has a better atmosphere and somewhat more reasonable prices and was in fact practically next door to our hotel. We enjoyed it so much each night when we paid the bill we booked a table for the following night. We sat inside once and outside right on the Canal the next two times. The service was always very good and friendly. And all the dishes we tried were excellent including; Spaghetti al Raffaelle(must be for 2), Pasta with cream sauce and black truffles, and Spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and pepper flakes, plus Turbot fish al Raffaelle and Sea Bass done in the oven with potatoes, and breaded veal(like Milanese but here they call it escalope). We tried one dessert one night and it was very good(don’t remember the name but it has mascarpone and Amaretto). This place is in a high rent neighborhood and in a great setting so it’s no surprise it’s pretty pricey, but if you’re staying nearby and feel like treating yourself it’s a great choice because the food and the service were both really really good.

First of all, it was so hard to find this location, because the location on google map is wrong! I ordered the spaghetti alla seppie, not bad but didn’t make me feel wanna come back for it again. My husband ordered a veal chop that somehow tasted more like a pork chop. As a matter of fact it probably was a pork chop. He ordered it medium rare, and being from Calgary he felt insulted that they served him a well done pork chop when he asked for a medium rare veal. Also it’s over priced.

It’s hard to pick places to eat in Venice cause there’s so many to choose from but we decided to go with this one cause of the tables along the canal and the sunny weather that would make this lunch even more perfect… As if having lunch in picturesque Venice isn’t perfect enough! We were given a table right along the canal so it was awesome because we were able to drink wine while enjoying the view of the gondolas and hearing some sing while being able to take pretty awesome pics… Hahah Gotta take load dog pics when you’re in Venice right? The canal kind of had an odor naturally but it subsided after awhile… Probably got use to it ha! The staff was attentive and was available anytime really. I ordered spaghetti with cuddle fish in a black sauce. I’ve been wanting this dish for awhile since I haven’t had it in ages. When I got it, I was pretty excited and stuffed my face with it. The cuddle fish was pretty tender and perfectly cooked and the spaghetti was aldente. The flavour was average… Nothing missing or extraordinarily amazing with it, so I’d give this dish a 3 snap out 5. I was worried that my teeth would be black but thankfully it was fine. If you’re into this type of dish, this place serve it average. You’re belly won’t be jumping up and down for its amazing flavour and seasoning, rather it’ll wake it up and say what’s this black stuff your feeding me and satisfy your craving of this dish. The place is pretty average for me… It definitely has an amazing view of you can manage to get a table along the canal. The staff is nice and the pricing pretty standard to what you’d pay in Venice.

Perfect location on a small canal and also nice dining inside. Staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. We followed another reviewers advise and had the seafood antipasto and linguine with squid ink delicious. The black pasta is the real deal. We had the veal lover and a mullet seafood dish grilled, both prepared in true Venetian style. Our waiter recommended a perfect white wine to match. The prices for Venice was cery reasonable. We had reservations for another reservation tonight and cancelled to return here

One of our goals was to have a candlelit dinner along a canal so we decided that this would be our big splurge meal. I would recommend showing up during morning prep to get a canal side dinner reservation. This is a very romantic location for dinner as it is located on a canal with a lot of gondola«traffic» so it has ambience. My wife and I had the seafood antipasti, spaghetti with squid ink, and fish with potatoes. The food was pretty good with my favorite being the squid ink.

Great time at this restaurant — we saw it packed during our gondola ride and decided to go there. The gondolas go by about every half hour, so sitting outside is neat. Get a little serenade from them passing. Had the squid ink spaghetti — black tongue — but amazing! People back home were very jealous because we don’t have anything like that here. Husband had bolognese, which he was very happy with as well.

We started out with the assorted fish appetizer and it was good, but the shrimp didn’t taste the freshest. The main courses we had were the lasagna and bacon carbonara spaghetti which were both pretty disappointing. We decided to skip dessert because we didn’t have high hopes.

This is a beautiful little restaurant right on the water. We had trouble finding it from google maps but it was well worth the searching we discovered! They have great bellinis which we were on a kick of after visiting Harry’s. They allowed us to recreate the vodka and rum Bellini by just giving us the liquor on the side. We got the potato gnocchi with tomato, basil, and mozzarella to share. My husband ordered the steak entrée and I the turbo. The meals come al carte do this was a perfect amount of food. Service was a tad slow but that is the Italian way:) The owner was extremely nice and goes out of his way to make sure you are happy. The price is reasonable for Venice and the experience was well worth it!

My wife and I first came across this restaurant after our Gondola tour passed by in the canal. It appeared popular and I liked the fact that it was right on a canal located away from a majority of the tourists. I should note that I’m usually a pretty understandable guy and I normally give restaurants a benefit of the doubt, but I felt strongly compelled to review this restaurant after our experience. Service: Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm welcome and taken to our table. Our waiter came over and asked us something in Italian. I greeted him back in Italian but asked a question in English(we’re from the U.S.) and instantly his expression turned for the worse. For some unbeknownst reason to us, our waiter must have hated English speakers as for the entirety of the night, we received terrible service from him. I even asked him for change on our bill and he never returned. Seriously, we waited around and did not even see him. The bill included a service charge to begin with, which makes me despise this place even more because I did not want to tip him any further. Food: I ordered their home-made lasagna and my wife ordered their classic spaghetti dish. While we began to eat, we both thought our dishes tasted pretty good. As we continued, I noticed my lasagna was cold in the middle, which could only mean that their homemade lasagna dish was made earlier, frozen, and then reheated during dinner time. If I wanted to eat a frozen dinner I would have stayed home. I suppose this just goes to show you the lack of quality and care in their food. My wife seemed to enjoy hers for the most part, but later on in the night she came down with a bad stomach ache. I don’t want to point fingers here, but we think it was because of dinner. Who knows. Price: My wife and I ordered their caprese salad to start(which was just tomato slices with a ball of mozzarella cheese in the middle), two pasta dishes for dinner, and sparkling mineral water to drink(San Pellegrino). The total for the bill came to be 67 euros. That’s one pricey meal without wine or dessert. All in all, I would never eat at Da Raffaele ever again. Their awful service, overpriced and half frozen dinner plates really but a damper on our experience eating in Venice. I should have stayed closer to the touristy areas.

Let me begin that if your not from Italy this place is very difficult to find, it took us almost 2 hours just to find this place lol by was it worth it yes and no they location of this restaurant is amazing cause you are right by the water and you can see the gondolas go by as for the food was ok not that exciting just because I’ve had better food in Italy than here the waiter was a bit rude but I guess since we are Americans it was expected haha! This is the only place that doesn’t serve meats and cheeses together on one plate?! So we ordered the meat platter and for the price it was way too expensive good meat but not worth it, but hey it’s Europe so it’s expected… I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and it was actually good different from the American version but very good so the only good thing about this place is the view and location

As our last meal in Venice, we decided to dine right off the water. View — not so much, but we did see over dozens of gondola boats gone by. Food — quite tasty! I got the Venetian specialty again — cuttlefish fish spaghetti — al dente and well made. It’s enough to feed me for two meals! My husband ordered their green ravioli in meat sauce — best ravioli we’d had in Italy. It could had used a little more sauce though! Also came in a generous portion! Although we were impressed by the food, we weren’t too impressed by the service or the price. They were obviously overstaffed(8 waiters for 3 tables) yet we weren’t ever checked on and had to wave them down several times to take our order. Each pasta costed about the same as all pasta dishes we ordered in Venice but with water, cover, and automatic service charge(which might also explain their lack of service), our lunch cost about 50 euro. Nevertheless, a good last meal in Venice.

Decided to check this place out based on its positive Unilocal reviews. We are very happy we did! A thunder/lightening storm was brewing, so the staff sat us inside. Even though we missed out on the canal views, the inside was also very cool. Coozy and welcoming. The house red was tasty and the food was delish. My husband had the carbonara and I had the lasagna. We also had chocolate cake and tiramisu for dessert. Both were delicious. Of course, the prices were a bit more than we wanted to spend, but that is generally the case in Venice ;-) The lasagna, for example, was 17 euro and the desserts were 8 euro each. By American standards this is a bit much. That being said you can easily spend 20 euro on poor quality pizza in Venice, so the pricing was fair in that regard.

De Raffaele was our best meal experience of Venice. The evening was made wonderful not just by the food but also by the incredible hospitality the staff and owner extended to us. Our meal of appetizers, assorted pastas and an amazing black spaghetti with cuttlefish was only the start. The black spaghetti had a richness that was complimented by the delicate flavors of the cuttlefish resulting in the most well rounded pasta dish I have ever eaten. This may be on a new front runner for my last dish on Earth… Our inquiry about one of the meats from the assorted appetizers plates was met with an additional plate of the meat prepared in the traditional Venetian style, delivered by the wonderful owner including a full description of the particular plate. Again after the meal we were offered a digestif and cookies from the house. I will suggest any and all of my friends, family and fellow food lovers to enjoy a meal at De Raffaele and understand what true hospitality is! Do not forget the house red wine to join with your meal. Grazie mille De Raffaele!

It comes so naturally to click 5 stars on this review almost immediately. First and foremost, gorgeous location with tables nestled right along side the water with great people watching available via a bridge that sits about 20 – 30 feet from the restaurant. The staff is extremely pleasant and asks your native language while doing all they can to adapt and serve you in that language. From the second you arrive and take a peep inside the restaurant, you’ll immediately notice the freshness of the ingredients being served to you as many of them are on display for you sitting on beds of ice. They are open about their service charge as well as the cover charge but if you’re from t he states… stop complaining at the end of the day it’s equivalent to leaving an 18−20% tip at home. For the food, service and location at which you are dining… it’s well worth it! My GF is a huge fan of Pomodoro sauce and they did not disappoint, she was very pleased. I tried the ravioli special of the night and I LOVED it! Very light cream sauce with some fresh mushrooms and just the right serving of ravioli’s. We enjoyed some house wine which is better than some $ 100 bottles I’ve had at home. We topped off the dinner with two espresso’s and a trio of gelato which was again delicious yet light and satisfying, definitely did not leave the table with that bloated, over eating type feeling. The service as in 99.9% of Italy was impeccable and should be used as the«serving 101» guideline. If you are staying anywhere near St. Mark’s I definitely recommend this for a nice dinner in Venice, by far one of my favorite meals while visiting the beautiful city of Venice!

Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and great service. We sat outside next to the canal and it was such a treat when gondolas passed — some of the singers would turn to us diners and serenade us as they went by! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the lasagna was fantastic. Definitely recommended!

We were serenaded by the gondolas passing by. The food was the best we’ve had in VENICE

Mindestens 150% Venedig-Aufschlag. Unsere absolute Empfehlung und jeden Cent wert: Ristorante Algiubagio.

This is an excellent place to dine if you are in Venice. Da Raffaele is located west of San Marco, walking towards Accademia. The great thing about this place is that is located on a private patio so you dont have any tourists walking past you as you enjoy your dinner. We made a reservation for 8:30 pm and we were right on time. Service was courteous and food was delicious. For drinks we had a bottle of Chianti. For primi: Spaghetti cooked in squid ink with some sauteed squid. This dish was remarkable, Squid was perfect — tender and flavorful, and pasta was fresh and cooked al-dente. For secondi: Grilled Scampi. Scampi were split in half and slightly grilled. Amazing flavors! For both presentation and food quality I would give this place 5 stars. I am glad we found this spot after so much walking :)
