Ristorante Sorrento

3 stars really but there are better restaurants in the area for around the same price with better views and nicer atmosphere. The food was good but not very memorable. The servers were definitely friendly but I won’t consider this a 5 star place either. Our group shared the grilled sardines (they can also be fried) and they were pretty fresh. My meatball pasta was okay but not the best thing either. My boyfriend liked the seafood pizza he ordered as well and my friend liked her risotto.

Our second time to try here. There were some issues with our order which were as a result of our misunderstanding the menu. This was resolved without much fuss and the meal was excellent. The ravioli was incredible and the wine was exceptionally well priced. We may be back again before we go home.

Visiting Sorrento I thought I would only dine with a sea view, but this restaurant was outside my B&B so I tried it. All the staff was very friendly. The pasta was the best I’ve had on this trip. The house vino rosso was great too. They even serve a lemon slice and ice for your water, a first for me. Restaurant Sorrento was such a treat that I went for a light lunch the next day too. Maybe I can have the pasta again before I leave.

I’m not sure I’d make a special trip back to this restaurant, but it was definitely a good meal. We started by splitting a puttenesca which was good but not the best I’ve ever had. I had mussels which were just OK, with a bit too much garlic and salt for my taste. Mussels are one of my favorite foods and when they’re good, they’re great. These were just OK. My wife had fresh tuna cooked which was cooked to the consistency of canned tuna. If you’re from the US and used to sushi grade tuna seared on the outside and raw on the inside, you’ll be sorely disappointed. The good news is that it was very fresh, but I’d never order any fish this way, much less tuna.
The service was excellent and the setting is nice for either dinner or lunch.
