This place is a tourist trap, be careful. I’ve never given 1 star, but this place deserves it. The owner is a liar, and tries to get you pay more anywhere he can.
They charged us $ 2.50 for tap water. Then we asked for bread or garlic bread, he brings out plain bread. We eat maybe a piece. Then he gives us garlic bread. He charges us for three orders of bread. The owner didn’t speak nicely, interrupted us — they should be wanting to please their customers. Clearly they don’t care about customer service.
Long story short, they nickel and dime you and try to act like nothing is wrong. It’s a trap, don’t go!

This restaurant tried to overcharge me by 10%
I have been fortunate to have been transferred to Rome for my work. In our five months in Rome, we have never been charged a «gringo» tax. But in this restaurant it happened.
Our bill included an 8 euro charged for «vario». When I asked about it, the waiter said that it was a tax. When I insisted that there are no taxes on food, he told me that this was a service charge. When I insisted that service charges are not included in the bill, and in my limited italian explained that I live in Rome and that this is not correct, he brought back the bill with the correct charge and apologized profusely.
As we were leaving, he continued to apologize.
No one deserves to be overcharged or lied to. Do not go here.
And the food was nothing special.

3 stars is absolutely perfect for Di Fronte a: they are simply A-OK. It’s a tourist trap, but it has perfectly fine drinks, wine, and food. Will it be your best meal? No way. But is it God awful? Nah. It’s just A-OK.

Don’t stop here to find out how a restaurant can ruin a simple pasta dish like cacio e pepe.
Ordered this plate. The pasta was not drained well and there just wasn’t any flavor. Ordered the artichoke and it was bland at best and undercooked. They decided to «round up» the bill and charge an extra 50 cents… add that up over the course of the day…
Overall, not worth it. Skip it.
Staff was indifferent to us and was only friendly when we paid (or overpaid).
I would skip this like I would a McDonald’s.
Wait, on second thought, the McDonald’s at least serves a better espresso.
Very disappointing.

We ate at every place on Villa del Croce and this was our favorite dinner spot by far. Wait staff was fantastic and the food was delicious. The gnocchi dish was my favorite.

I know that the waiters obnoxiously remind you that service is not included, hoping for a 20% American tip from unsuspecting foreigners who don’t know Italians basically don’t tip, but this place makes up for it with the best amatriciana I have had. In general, the pasta is great. Avoid the tiramisu.

Das Restaurant, Café im Herzen Roms ist eine gute Adresse zum Essen. Während meiner Zeit in Rom war es für mich immer wieder Anlaufpunkt im Zentrum zum Essen. Wer schon in Rom war weiß das es dort mehr Quantität als Qualität gibt in diesem Bereich. Wer aber dennoch nicht mehr als 30 Euro Pro Person ausgeben will um sehr gutes Essen zu bekommen wie im Bereich hinter der Spanischen Treppe bei der man an den guten Restaurants vorbeikommt die mit Glasshäusern umganrt sind und mit frechen und teueren Preisen locken geht in das Di Frontea das überstetzt heist in der nähe von .
Es liegt in einer verwinkelten Gasse in dennen es mehrere Möglichkeiten gibt um Italienisch zu Essen. Dort jedoch war es für mich immer noch am besten. Das Preis Leistungsverhältniss stimme einigermassen und die Qualität des Essens war immer gut bis sehr gut. Vom Cappuccino über das Tiramisu, Bruscetta und die Hauptspeisen wie Pizza, Nudeln oder auch andere Platis war das Essen immer sehr gut dort.
Selbst der Grappa ist zu empfehlen grins:).
Zudem ist das Restaurant sehr sauber und gepflegt. Der Service ist manchmal pflegmatisch das es immer sher voll war zu meiner Zeit.
