Autogrill

I stumbled upon this place while strolling around Rome — I really had to pee so I thought I’d pop inside. Luckily, it’s a great (and free) place to use the bathroom! You have to climb up some stairs and the bathroom is small, but it’s a minimal effort place to pee in the city.
The AutoGrill itself is cool; there’s a fast food pizza counter, sandwiches, snacks (think of it as the Italian version of a 7 – 11 with potato chips, nuts, candy, gum, etc.), cold drinks (bottled water, energy drinks, sodas), a great cafeteria in back and a really good coffee bar. I had an espresso that was very tasty and only cost me .90 cents Euro. The cafeteria in back has lots of freshly prepared food: pastas, sauces, salads, desserts and more. It’s a great place to grab a quick snack but I wouldn’t go out of my way to have a meal here — especially in Rome, one of the world’s great food cities!
There is a TON of seating inside and a few tables outside. This is a GREAT place to stop if you need to rest your feet, consult your map, and go to the bathroom. It’s also a good place for a snack or drink. Prices are okay, it ain’t cheap but what do you expect in Rome?
