Foncez.

Favorite pizza place in Italy. I got the pizza with spicy salami and the house red wine. AMAZING. it’s a small place so it can be hard to get a table but the food is delicious.

I originally heard about gusta pizza while searching prior to my trip to Florence for places to eat, and came across it on Unilocal when I was in the area. I will say this: the pizza is good. You’re near a few sight seeing things so it’s a great way to grab lunch, pizzas are around € 4 – 6. It was overall a good place for pizza, but, what made it a not so great experience is that all the sorority girls studying abroad apparently go there. Which isn’t the worst thing to ask for but the other customers I had to share a table with were a little annoying. Kinda kills your«Italian experienced» when you hear«like» said 70 times in a minute. I recommend grabbed it to go and picnic with it instead.

All I can say is best pizza ever — and the best prices ever. I ordered the margheritta pizza for $ 5.00 to go and walked down the street to the Ponte Vicchio to view the water! Honestly this pizza was the best pizza I have ever put in my mouth. it might seem super busy when you go in for lunch but don’t let that stop you from trying it! The wait goes by really quickly

A-mazing pizza. Literally a line out the door though so come before opening to avoid wait. Tables are shared. Cash only.

This was the BEST pizza I had in Italy. I even went back the next day and that opinion didn’t change. The people are friendly and the place is great. The pizza is cheap(around 5 euro), pretty big, and delicious. You won’t be disappointed. This is a must-visit when you’re in Florence.

We were looking for a place to eat after spending hours after hours inside Palazzo Pitti. Gusta Pizza was a bustling place even after lunch hour. We ordered tomato, basil, spicy salami and fresh mozzarella. The restaurant surprised us with a heart shaped pizza! Aside from the cute shape, the taste of the pizza was super fresh and delicious as well. I’ve never been a big fan of pizza, but the thin crust, fresh tomato and cheese definitely won me over.

Ate here ATLEAST once a week when I lived in Florence. If I could fly to Italy just to get one of these pizzas again, I would do it in a heartbeat. They are THAT good. They often have specials they will make if you ask, like the pesto pizza which is to die for. It’s a great place to grab a pizza to take and eat somewhere outside — we would often take them up to piazzale michelangelo.

The ambiance is fun, with an almost constant line filled with locals, students, and tourists who you can rub elbows with. Then once you get to sit down the tabletops are decorated with notes from previous visitors. The workers are polite and helpful if you are too shy to ask a stranger in the aforementioned busy queue. And the pizza is tasty and affordable. I love the titular menu item with cherry tomatoes, arugula, and chunks of parmagiano reggiano – it hits so many fantastic flavor and texture points: fresh, bitter, sweet, nutty, crispy, cheesy, and… yummy. So why just 4 stars? After having the absolute best pizza in Florence(I won’t mention it here – just look at my previous reviews), Gusta Pizza’s pizza is close but not quite as good – the toppings, especially salame picante in the Calabrese, could be a little more plentiful and the sauce a little more flavorful. It could be a little more clear as to how the seating arrangement works because it can be a little overwhelming your first time there, especially if you don’t speak the language(for the record, you order and pay for your food at the counter first, get your own drinks from the refrigerators near the back of the dining room, and then you can find a place to sit). But in the end, Gusta Pizza is a fantastic pizzeria. For sure it’s the best in the Oltrarno. If it was in any other city, even another city in Italy, it would be the best pizzeria in town. Unfortunately, Florence has some of the best pizza in all the world, so Gusta Pizza only get 4 stars from me. I guess you can consider it a 4 ½ star review from me.

Easily one of my favorite pizzas we had in Italy. It was around 7 – 8 euros for a decent sized pizza. What really stood out to me about this place was the yummy thick red sauce and the fact that you get to watch them make the pizzas right in front of you! I believe you can ask them to shape your pizza into a heart upon ordering too! The pizza was good and affordable, and worth a visit if you’re ever in Florence.

Delicious pizza, bustling place, but super quick service. If there’s no tables available then get your pizza and drink as take away and sit out in the piazza!

My favorite pizza place in all of Italy, much less Florence! I spent a few great evenings just grabbing a pizza margarita and sitting outside in the piazza. Yet, if you look closely, you will find my name amongst the other happy customers on the table. Please, if you happen to be in Florence, hunt down this treasure of a pizzeria!

Really cute heart-shaped pizza!(Just make sure you say it when you order it!) I’ve tried several pizzas here, from the simple margerita(your basic pizza with tomato sauce and mozzarella 5 euros), Gustapizza(personal favorite of the three, it’s an upgrate of the margherita with cherry tomatoes and rucola greens 7 euros), and Napoli(with anchovies – wayy too salty, didn’t like it). But from the hype, the pizza didn’t totally blow me away either. It was certainly better than any chain-pizzas in the US(like pizza hut or papa john’s), it was delicious and straight out of the oven, and literally an amazing deal for the price, don’t go expecting the best pizza in the world. Also, the pizza is pretty large enough that you can split it with a friend and have some room for gelato afterwards! The place is really crowded(even a line forming before its opening times), so it’s really hard to get a seat inside. But in Santo Spirito, you can sit outside on the steps of the basilica or near the fountain!

Ok, how did people get heart shaped pizza because mine was oval! Regardless of that, the pizza was insanely affordable and tasty! The ingredients tasted fresh but at the same time, it wasn’t an OMG pizza. I may have insanely high expectations in Italy… hee hee Either way, definitely worth a visit, but I don’t think it’s worth a wait more than 20 minute. Came by this restaurant 2 times, the first time, the line was short and got our pizza within 20 minutes, the 2nd time, the line was INSANELY long and yea, I’m not waiting in that line…

After a long day of exploring, we were hungry and decided to drop by Gusta Pizza. It was around 830pm and the place was bustling — hordes of people inside and out. Initially, we tried to get a table, but quickly realized it was better off taking out. GREATIDEA! We went around the corner to the take out section of the restaurant and ordered the Calabrese(tomato, basil, mozzarella and SPICYSALAMI!!!). Seems like 4 out of the 5 parties around us ordered the same. Must be a winner. About 10m later, we got our pie, walked down the street and ended up eating on the stairs by the main square. Countless numbers of Gusta patrons were doing the same, easily identified by their colorful pizza box. There happened to be a concert going on, which added a nice touch to our mouthwatering slices. Honestly, the ingredients were really good, but they weren’t amazing. After reading all the raving reviews, I really expected this place to blow me away. The one thing I really enjoyed, though, was definitely the spicy salami and the crust. It totally reminded me of NY pizza, except better.

BEST. PIZZA. EVER. And I mean that literally, it is the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life. I was in Firenze for three days and I visited Gusta Pizza 5 times. We tried nearly every kind they have, and I don’t know how they do it, but they are all perfection. Even their basic Marinara pizza is magic. The are all between 5−10ish euros, so affordable so you can try them all! It is always crowded. So if you can’t enjoy your pizza inside, get it to go and sit in the square with everyone else feasting on their Gusta Pizza! And grab some of their house red wine to top of the delicious experience. I miss Gusta Pizza so much… so go have a piece(or ten) in my honor!

WOW. I had about 958573 people tell me I had to check out Gusta Pizza while in Florence. I went into the experience with pretty high expectations, but even still I was pretty blown away by my pizza. The dough was the perfect combination of crusty and chewy and the cheese and sauce melted together like magic to make easily the best pizza I had while in Italy for several weeks. Luckily when I went there wasn’t too much of a line, so it only took me about 10 – 15 mins to order and get my pizza. Factor in the low prices, and this place is about as good as it will get, especially if you are on a budget(just don’t order a beer because one bottle is about the same price as a pizza). Pro-tip: Order it to go and eat it outside on the steps(you’ll see tons of others doing the same).

After a pleasant morning at the Palazzo Pitti and Giardino Boboli, my parents and I ventured to Gusta Pizza for lunch after getting a high recommendation from a tour guide. As we stepped inside the cozy shop, my attention was immediately grabbed by the beautiful wood fired pizza oven and the employees skillfully crafting the pizza pies about to be cooked inside. I eagerly began to feast on my Margherita pizza(only 5 euros) after waiting just a short amount of time. It quickly became clear to me that this was the BESTPIZZAOFMYLIFE. The wood flavor from the oven(plus a perfect cook time for ideal crust crispness) combined with the high quality ingredients resulted in a pizza experience above anything else. We were so moved by this first visit to Gusta Pizza that we came back two more times before leaving Firenze and it was always as incredible as before. As I sit here 6300 miles away, I still dream of Gusta Pizza’s glory and hope to return in the not so distant future.

Delicious pizza in Florence! Get in line early, the line fills up quick. We ordered a few different pizzas but our favorite was the spicy sausage! Get them to-go, buy a few bottles of wine, and enjoy pizza and wine while watching this sunset on the water. Nothing adds to the beauty of this area then Gusta Pizza and some Chianti Wine!

It’s only fitting that Gusta Pizza is my first review ever… Four years ago, my sister was living in Florence and it was the first stop when I came to visit. We both got the margherita pizza and they gave it to us in the shape of a heart(awwww). The mozzarella melts and mixes with the marinara sauce to make it the perfect consistency. They offer a hot oil, which took this great pizza into killer pizza. I’ve never been disappointed in any of the pizzas I’ve ordered but my go to is always margherita. It’s consistently good and I crave it on a semi regular basis when I’m home. Gusta Pizza will definitely be one of the first places I go every time I’m in Florence. It is very popular so make sure that you’re ready to wait for a table or you can get it to go and sit on the stairs by a nearby piazza.

Who doesn’t love fresh piping hot pizza fresh out a wood burning oven? Not gonna lie, I was fairly disappointed with the pizza experience in Rome. The pizza was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Decided to give pizza another go in Florence and saw that this place was highly suggested on Unilocal and Trip Advisor. After two failing tries of trying to eat here(restaurants in Italy close between lunch and dinner time), we finally made it one morning. Pizza for breakfast is not my ideal meal but my friend dragged me here and I had no choice since it was our last day in beautiful Florence. You pay at the register and they announce when your pizza is ready. The pizzeria is fairly small but since we came during down time, there was ample seating available. My pizza came loaded with rocket leaves, cherry tomatoes and pecorino cheese and my friend went with her usual pizza margherita. The margherita was a bit on the salty side but still pretty good. I really liked my pizza but regretted the pecorino which was rather sharp for my taste. Overall, a better experience than the one we had in Rome. Still, I’d have to say, when it comes to pizza, America has its game face on. Now I will be looking forward to my trip to Naples(whenever that might be) to do the tasting test.

Also für mich kein Lokal erster Wahl.

After reading all these great reviews, it would be too bad if I don’t try a pizza from Gusta Pizza. I was there at 7 pm for their re-opening and so many people were already lining up but we didn’t even wait 10 minute to order. For 7 €, the gusta pizza(cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, parmesan cheese and ruccola) is not very expensive because of the quality of the products, which were very fresh. However the pizza was a bit too salty.

Best pizza ever.

I know, that’s spanish and I’m reviewing Italian pizza, but darling, MIGUSTAMUCHO! I was introduced to GustaPizza when I lived in Santo Spirito and it was first opened. It was a cold and windy night and we stopped by to pick a pizza up to go. Instead, we stayed and chatted with the owner and the workers. It’s a no frills, grab it yourself, type of place. A hole in the wall if you will. But you foodies know what ‘hole in the wall’ means. GREAT food! No place to sit? No worries, you’re in Florence for heaven’s sake, grab it to go and sit on the steps of the church 3 feet away, sit on a bridge and watch the cars and tourists go by, or walk 5 minutes to Pitti Palace and plop yourself down on the massive sloping concrete seating area. I’ve gone back numerous times to try all their pizzas. You really can’t go wrong with any of the options. The first time I had the mushroom and sausage, which is my favorite, drizzled with the chili oil. Some days I’m in the mood for the simple Margherita. While I’m sitting here writing this review in California, I’m literally drooling for just a taste, a smell, a «Buongiorno» of GustaPizza. I need to move back. mangiare felice.
