Awful — Avoid Tables are invariably cluttered with wrappers etc from the previous occupants and there are always loads of feral pigeons flying around looking for chips. Service is pretty slow as well

Look’it, it’s a chain and it’s fast food so we’re not expecting much. But this Supermacs at Heuston Station has been an absolute saviour on many an occasion. I’m always starving, running, and train food doesn’t quite get the heart beating. As far as chips and burgers go, it’s perfectly grand. It’s cheap(as chips) and tasty out– a lot more tummy filling than Maccas fir sure– and the staff here are always sound and quick.

It’s not even very good for fast food — but we had to eat something because we didn’t know if there would be food on the train. Definitely go with the food they sell on the train if you get a chance! Ugh, Supermac’s…

Stopped off here while waiting for a train. Coffee was hot, breakfast roll was average. Staff could do with improving their service. I waited 15 mins for my breakfast and in that time I saw three maybe four tables which needed clearing. Not good. Oh, they also provide newspapers for customers to read which I thought was a nice touch. A good addition to Heuston Station.

What can yu say about Supermacs? They are the McDonalds of Ireland. A staple of the Irish dinner table. The one here in Heuston Station is brilliant as they are very good with getting the food out to you quickly. They are also dead handy if you are after waking up from a wild night out and are slinking your way to your train and are in need of a nice greasy something to soak up all the alcohol from the night before. I would have given it more stars but there is one thing there that greatly irritates me — they have pushed back the lunch time until like noon meaning if you are catching a train before noon all you can get is breakfast. That is no good to many of us who want to grab a snack box or burger to take on the train.

Got stuck in heuston for 3 hours today so i decided to go in for some food, ordered a large meal(got an awesome glass with it was well chuffed haha) great staff behind the counter who actually listen to you when you order(unlike some other fast food enterprises) food here actually tastes great and fills you up, i will definetly return here if im waiting for a train or if i happen to miss breakfast on the rush to college, so to any one waiting for a train and are a bit peckish, check this place out, you’ll not regret it

Supermacs is usually a pretty decent ‘localised’ or ‘Gaeil-ified’(made up word) version of MacDonalds or Burger King. This one, in particular, is unfortunately a bit below par. If you must try Supermacs, do it somewhere else. This Heuston branch always feels dirty and in need of a renovation. The chicken I had here was dried out to the point you could call it shriveled, without causing the poor thing any offense. Yet, I find myself forced to eat here almost everytime I get a train down the country.(sigh)

I’ll be straight with you because I’m an honest, wholesome kinda fella. I cannot review Supermac’s objectively. I was born in the same county Supermac’s was and as a result have a bias towards it’s unhealthy saturated fat treats. I’ll review anyway. Since Supermac’s popped up in Heuston station it has been a constant source of frustration for me. I love the place. I say that with real heart. I honestly think Supermac’s were the first to perfect the Snack Box(take that KFC!) and it has played a major part in my personal growth. Due to a lack of time/money whenever I get a train, I rarely get to hit Supermac’s before getting the 16.50 service to Galway. As a result, I’m often left gnawing the arm of my uncomfortable Iaranroid Eireann chair as some delightful bollix munches through a Smokey Bacon burger and chips. Curse you Pat McDonagh, you culinary genius.

I, being a country girl, am a big Supermacs fan. Whenever I am home, I hit it at 3am after a nightclub and it is always my highlight of the night. Pathetic I know, but I might as well be honest! I only ever eat in two other Supermacs’ outside of Galway, and that is in Heuston and my local in Blackrock. In Hesuton, I am on my way to Galway, so it only seems right that I start my trip off with a big portion of chips and a yummy chicken burger. Mmm… tastes like country!

It’s quite appropriate that Heuston Station is site to one of the few Supermac’s in our nation’s capital. Some people are just so eager to get back down the country that they can’t wait to leave the metropolis in order to get some culchie food. Caters to this market, and to the Dubs who want to acclimatise themselve before heading off to such exotic locales as Portarlington and Nenagh. And there aren’t really that many other places to eat inside the station, so anyone else that doesn’t fit into either of the above categories probably eats there too.
