Walked by this place around lunchtime and liked the menu options, so I stopped in. Got a ham and cheese panini and a coffee. The panini was just ok, very little ham and the quality of ingredients was nothing special.

Dainty little place this il fico. Was buzzing on a Wednesday night and sure why wouldn’t it be for a 3 course early bird at 16.95. The food was nice. Just your standard Italian. Bruschetta, chicken and mushroom pasta and a crème brûlée to top it all off nicely. But was great value and satisfied it’s needy owner. The waiters are very friendly too which is always a bonus.

Me and my friend came here for coffee and a bite to eat as everywhere else seemed so packed, and I was happy to discover a really nice Italian restaurant right in the middle of the city! Il Fuoco seems quite small from the outside, but there’s actually plenty of seats inside as well as a few outdoor seats. I had their tomato and basil soup which was amazing, one of the best tomato and basil soups I’ve ever had next to Cornucopia! I also had an Americano which I found to be quite good despite the petite size, while my friend had a latte which she said tasted great. The only thing that really bugged me was the extremely slow service. The café was fairly empty but it still took them 10 minutes to bring out coffee and 20 minutes to bring my soup which I found quite long for just a soup. However, the staff there were quite friendly albeit a bit too chilled. The late opening hours is great too, and the prices are fairly standard with starters being around 5 euro and mains ranging around 11– 16 euro. The menu has a lot on it too, from breakfast, pizza, pasta and paninis to salads, risotto and omelettes. There is also a few vegetarian options. Overall, a cute Italian restaurant with an authentic feel, a variety of choices and a cozy atmosphere.
