Really like this place. Great staff, coffee, service is excellent. They are closing soon for a refit and change if concept.

Visited Café Novo today on the recent groupon brunch deal. Great service and the spiciest Bloody Mary I’ve ever had! My steak was perfectly cooked with the lovely fries they do in the westbury accompanying it! My companion however was a little disappointed her moule didn’t come with any frites but the mango Mary made up for this I think! I’d definitely visit for brunch again!!! Delish!

Café Novo is one of those places I used to pass thinking it was way too expensive. When I tried it the first time I was completely impressed and now it’s one of my favourite spot al over Dublin. Good food, great and relaxing ambient, great staff and a perfect location. Not too posh, not expensive, surely class but without exagerations. They also cater for coeliac people. They also have a nice bar at the front for a drink.

I typically go for a couple glasses of wine and I really like it here! This is a cool open-spaced bar connected to the Westbury Hotel with some comfy seating(grab a spot on the sofa near one of the windows) and a reasonably priced wine list. Ask for a menu if you want to get some eats. We ordered the samosas which were a bit greasy but delicious and the fish cakes which were less than desirable unfortunately — but there are other items to be tried! Relax before or after shopping and listen to the cool music and then consider a full meal in the hotel restaurant. Cheers!

Posting for my hubby who went to grab a late-night bite during our stay at the Westbury… «I’ve had crab cakes all over the world and I can say without a doubt that these were the most disappointing. They were advertised as crab and salmon cakes, but I detecteded nary a hint of crab or salmon in it(there was only one in the serving). Rather, they were poorly seasoned potato cakes, lightly browned, and devoid of any and all texture or pleasant taste. I mentioned this to the waitress when she(admirably) asked me how it was, and she replied that „that’s how we do it here.“ I only have this one experience with crab/salmon cakes in Ireland, but if that waitress is to be believed, you should never, ever order any kind of seafood cake on this island.»

Good spot for Saturday lunch — burgers are very tasty and it is very relaxed. The staff don’t rush you. Presentation is great and falls in line with the other eateries at The Westbury hotel(Wilde upstairs is excellent). A little on the pricey side though…

This is a place that I only discovered a few months ago as it is down by the Westbury which is a place I wouldn’t often frequent. However it is now a place that I can be found on many weekdays whiling away the time. The seats are comfy, the staff are helpful and, as has been pointed out previously, they have the superb offer of coffee and cake for five euro. For the best way to take advantage of this, might I recommend getting a pot of coffee: € 4.10 with the cake then only costing 90 cent. If you can get a better bargain than that AND still drink good coffee rather than mud then by all means tell me! Because of this deal I have not tried much else in Café Novo bar one time when I got tomato soup which was A: v hot B: v tasty, C: served with the coolest spoon ever! Only flip side is that as far as I know the nearest toilets are in the hotel where you have to go for a quick wander before you get to the loo but hey c’est la vie and all that.

Café Novo underneath Dublin’s infamous Westbury Hotel is not just for yummy mummy’s and yoof yuppies. The bar is a must visit on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday as it’s well laid out, spacious and never too busy that you’ll have to stand for too long. Seat and tables are well spaced, so no eavesdroppers or elbow shuffling with your neighbours. The best thing about Café Novo are the cocktails, try the gorgeous Westbury Mojito(mixed berry) — it’s truly the best cocktail in town and believe me I’ve tried many! Thursdays are good for drinks as you’ll get a delish house cocktails for € 7.00 which is not bad considering the extortionate price of alcholic beverages in the city. The staff are warm and welcoming, especially cheery chappy, Luka the lovely Italian bar-man who will always remember your visit and greet you warmly next time you pop in. Novo is also good at providing complimentary Japanese Wasabi nibbles while you’re there, an added extra that speaks volumes about the place. Dining wise, the menu is surprisingly good value with options for every taste and picky palette. All in all I would highly rate Café Novo, it’s my favourite cocktail haunt when I’m in town.

Café Novo is one of those places I used to walk past thinking it was way too posh– read expensive. However, a friend insisted on trying it out after a long day of shopping. The décor is very modern and minimalist, but in the front– the side closer to Grafton Street– they do have some lovely comfy chairs. We only wanted some coffee, until we saw the cake menu! I have this urge to try carrot cake in pretty much every restaurant and café I go to and my friend went for the chocolate cake. One word– yummy! And to round it off, even though their cake special offer ends at 5pm and we only got there at 5.01pm they still only charged us a fiver each!

Café Novo is a really relaxed restaurant, where you could pop in for a casual drink or you could stay for 6 hours over a long meal. They have a nice bar at the front for a drink and the restaurant has comfy seats and friendly staff. At the bar you can have any flavour mojito that you like. It’s a great place to start off your evening and then continue in town. Food is good and reasonably priced.
