Very bad service, overprice for the quality of food. And the restaurant stuffs made mistake with their ordering list or computer, so we’ve waited our orders over an hour, and they didn’t find out until we asked… And the food after the forever waiting wasn’t worth it!

One of my favourite for sure but this is one of those places that substitute service with attitude. I came here with my friend Simon and what a treat really. He knew how and what to order. We had some sort of roasted chicken that was very expensive(over $ 200) but it was to die for. The rest of the meal was good but pale in comparison. Definitely would go back and I would really like to see the service improve. I don’t mind paying too much, just make me feel good about it.

I always find it difficult to eat in PP at a reasonable price. When faced with the prospect, Thai Basil is always at the top of my list. The food is always tasty and fresh. I love the satay and fresh rolls. Deeeelicious. The pad Thai is always a safe choice. The ambiance is great, but the service so-so. Unfortunately the hostess didn’t know how to seat people quickly enough and we spotted an empty table, but still had to wait 15 minutes before we could sit at it.

Green Curry Chicken was phenomenal. The service was awful. I had to ask the waiter for our drinks that I could see were just sitting at the bar. My son ordered ½ roasted chicken and it still had hair all over it. Burnt hair for dinner, yum!

I am a fan of this restaurant. When I am in HK I go to this place. I go for a late lunch or early dinner, reason is, it gets very crowded during the peak dinning times. I really enjoy the curry here. They really have nailed down the taste and flavor. The heat does not overpower the meat nor vice versa. The atmosphere is neat with many tables. Most of the staff speaks ENG which helps me out. I drinks there are pretty interesting as well. I try to get different drinks when I go there as well. I also really enjoy the desert. They have a mango sticky desert that is really great. The location of this restaurant is also good. It is in the bottom level of an upscale mall. I accidentally found this place when I was shopping. Ever since I went once I go every time I am in HK and tell my friends to go there as well. It is truly a great place to go when you are in HK.

Unilocal’s 3 – 4 range is a good spot for this place. Insanely loud, food came out haphazardly, and service was«eh». The yellow curry was top notch and the surprise best meal was the very reasonably priced chicken and noodles, which had an aromatic and spicy bite to it. I’d go back just for the chicken and noodles.

Great Thai food in the basement of a mall! I had pad thai and a mojito. Both were very good. Like many, I use pad thai to calibrate the quality of a Thai restaurant. For me this hit spot on. As for the mojito, it was a Thai take on the classic and very good.

This place is slightly overpriced for Thai food, but it’s not bad. It’s not real Thai food it’s more like westernized Thai food. I would only go here because it’s close to my office in Pacific Place, but it’s not real Thai food. If I want real Thai food I highly recommend chachawan or even this hole in the wall place in wan chai, I forget what it’s called but u go up the stairs and it’s pretty authentic but obviously not like a nice sit down restaurant like Thai basil. This is owned by the maxim group, which owns a bunch of restaurants like simply life, and all that is owned by swire, which makes sense cos they own the entire pacific place property. Come for business lunch, decent food with business people prices. And I like to order soft shell crab roll with mango sauce dip, chicken curry(green curry), and either pomelo or beef salad– all shareable, otherwise just order one dish to eat by yourself.

Wednesday lunch time and I don’t know where to go. I’m hungry and I just feel like grabbing something quick somewhere because today I didn’t bring lunch in. My friend suggests Thai Basil in Pacific Place and as I work close, I decide it’s a good option. I had walked past many times and had never noticed the place to be honest. I have a weakness for Thai food, I adore it. So when I go dining to a new Thai restaurant I try to get rid of my bias so that I can judge it properly. As I got there I was impressed by the place, the decoration is great. It is cozy elegant. I sat at the sofa side of the table and felt even cozier! I liked it already. One thing I noticed immediately is the number of staff. They seem to be just way too many — I suspect some of them were trainees as they were only serving drinks. But let me talk about the food: my fried duck in curry sauce was the best curry I have ever had, in Hong Kong, and in my life. Presentation was exquisite; it came in a big plate, with strips of the fatty meat soaked in a mild spicy sauce. My friend ordered the beef curry and I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to start with. But the verdict was clear for me after trying both: just go for the duck. I ended up picking some from his plate again only to confirm, I loved my dish. The key wasn’t entirely on the sauce but on the meat, that was cooked to perfection, really. I peeked at the next table and even though I didn’t know what they had ordered it also looked delicious. For that level of flavor and enjoyment I had, I was expecting a fat bill coming but it was in fact quite reasonable(meal for two 240HKD). We had to wait for 10 minutes to be sat but provided it was lunch time, in Pacific Place… that wasn’t too bad! I’m definitely coming back. The question is will I venture trying something else?
