Finally got to try this place out! And it wasn’t a disappointment but it wasn’t as amazing as I thought it was going to be. I went right when it opened and there was no queue at all! Okay this place is small. Not your typical Hong Kong small. Small like you feel like your hitting everyone on your way in. There’s literally a small table that seats four and then the bar that seat 10. And each seat at the bar has mini walls which I thought was cool. FYI there’s no English menu, so makes sure you look outside for a picture of what you want or do some research of their ramen. I ordered the squid ink ramen $ 100 hkd. It came out piping hot which is how I like it. The flavor was rich but idk why I felt like something was missing every time I took a bite. I loved how the ramen turned black from the squid ink but I honestly don’t know if it enhanced or changed the flavor of the broth. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I kinda wish there was more in the bowl.

Of all my ramen experience, this one is probably the most surreal and unforgettable. This tiny place has only 14 seats. Serves only 4 types of ramen. Yet people line up, twenty or even thirty deep, outside the shop. You know you’ve found the holy grail. Their basic ramen is Tamashii,$ 69, a kotteri style tonkotsu broth with a slice of pork and half an egg. Red Dragon has a slightly spicy tomato/pepper broth with salmon. Taichi comes with a squid ink broth and crab butter, and Green Dragon, the most expensive at $ 99, has a finely minced spinach broth topped with crab and fish roe. While there are only 14 seats, I see three guys working in the kitchen, and three women in the front. Food comes out fast and tea cups refilled promptly. My bowl of noodles arrives, and I breath in the aroma. Then take a sip of the broth. Slightly on the salty side, but rich and flavorful. Noodles is perfectly cooked with a good bounce. Heavenly, as good as it gets. There’s only one slice of pork, but it’s melt-in-your-mouth succulent. Pricier than other, but well worth it. The counter has a curious set up I haven’t seen elsewhere, with partitions between seats. So it’s just you and your ramen, focus, focus. Definitely not the place for dates. Should you linger and chat with your friend after finishing your noodles, the waitress will tell you to get the X out of here. No, they say it very politely, but you get the message.

The ramen craze in hong kong is insane. It seems like everyone here is absolutely in love with this starchy noodle! I don’t blame them, i’m a fan myself. One thing I won’t do however, is line up for it. Tamashii is a famous little joint but fortunately it is not in central cwb, it isn’t as high in demand as the other ones. I’ve been here for lunch once and we didn’t even have to wait — one reason is probably because we came for early lunch. It is a very small, traditional looking ramen joint. I think it seats no more than 15 people. They have a table or two at the entrance, the rest of the seats were at the ramen bar, just like how it is in Japan. The selection isn’t big, it’s nice though, because I felt like eventually i could try all their flavours! ^_^ I ordered the squid ink ramen and my friend ordered the red dragon — which is their spicy option. I really liked mine, but felt like i had to be super careful, not wanting to get the squid ink all over my blouse. I actually didn’t taste the squid ink much… to me, it was the colour, more than the flavour. I wish i got what my friend got instead, it was spicy — which i like, and less messy. The texture of the noodles was excellent, just the right amount of chewiness. The soup was rich and the egg was. the kind you feel like you could have another 10 of! So perfectly done. Will definitely be back soon.

I have heard so much about this place(all good thankfully) before I finally gave it a try. They all said it was very authentic but they only have limited seats so to avoid a long queue-up time, better show up early. And I did. Around 6. Guess what. Line. Not too long but still. My friend and I waited around 15 minutes and we got it. Once we walked in, we understood why we had to wait. There were only 14 seats here and that was it. But the restaurant gave you such Japanese vibe and you kind of forgot you were just shopping at Time Square a minute ago. The little cubicle we all had and we got to sit in front of the open kitchen so we could see how they prepared our food as well. Awesome. There are only 5 options of Ramen in this place and since I cannot have spicy noodle, I went for the normal one that time. In less than 10 minutes our food was served. And the first thing I tried of course was the soup. The broth was really nicely flavoured and very rich. The meat was tender and easy to chew as well. The Ramen was very smooth and basically it tasted like heaven. The only bad thing about this place is they really expect you to leave once you finish your meal, which is reasonable given how many people are still lining up after you finish. Anyhow, this is a really nice Japanese restaurant and I am sure I will be there soon enough.
