Great chill place for a laidback brunch and a beer. The high ceilings, open air and glass walls make it nice and airy. This is a place I wouldn’t mind dropping by every now and then for a beer. I came here hoping for a burger of nice roast beef sandwich because it looked like that sort of place. But was a little disappointed when there weren’t any on the menu,(obviously I hadn’t read the reviews here) aside from the veggie burger! So I asked. Turns out it’s an off-menu item. The manager dropped by and explained it’s because the patties are made from the same meat as their USDA steaks and that they don’t always have enough for a regular supply of burgers. They also didn’t want to buy minced beef from suppliers as quality can be inconsistent. The patties are nicely charred — you can taste and see the grill-marks if you open up the burger. But could do with a little more black pepper; you can also use the shakers on the table. Overall, I like the laidback vibe, service is good(where else explains their lack of burger offerings), and food is decent.

The décor of this place challenges my rating to round up to 4-stars, but I’m sticking with 3 for now. I’ve been a few times around since it’s close and I like their beer selection and the service is really good, but the food just hasn’t been doing it for me, and I’ve been disappointed a couple times. I resort now to the mushroom pasta just to be safe, as even the chicken salad has sadly changed, switching the thick-cut bacon for crumbled bits. I think a place like this would definitely benefit and should have a burger on the menu — just one. A single variation/house burger(not a burger menu) with the thick cut fries would another solid entrée that’s(hopefully) not 300+hkd.

New to KTown, Shore ditch serves British cuisine. There is no brunch menu, so expect a full heavy meal if you go for lunch(unless you grab a salad). We went at half past twelve, were one of two tables, and it took over half an hour for the food to arrive. Worst was, when I enquired about the wait, the waitress was curt and non apologetic. The restaurant manager did try to make up for it by explaining that the slab of pork we ordered was thick and slow cooked to perfection. When the food did arrive, it was delicious. It’s a shame about the service … 4 stars for the food, 2 for the service. So overall I rate it a 3.
