Pasta Papa

The thing why you need Unilocal is because there are so many hidden little gems in Hong Kong that are tucked away in small alleys or upstairs in a commercial building. Pasta Papa is one of those hidden ones I’ve never heard of even when I’ve been working 5 minutes away from this place for the last 3 years.
A friend discovered this place on the Internet and we came here for lunch. As the name suggested, Pasta Papa of course serves pasta. The lunch menu includes about 5 pasta or risotto dishes. They all come with a soup or salad and a drink. You can also pay more for a dessert.
The thing about having Western food in local places is that they often make the pasta too soggy and not al dente enough. Pasta Papa made it just perfect! What surprised me the most and perhaps what made it a 5-​star restaurant is the soup! You see, in Hong Kong when you have set meals and they tell you the soup is cream of corn, you’re expected to have this yucky, white, creamy soup with ears of corn in it. To my surprise, Pasta Papa’s cream of corn soup was really a yellowish, creamy, blended corn soup! It was very delicious and I wish the portion was bigger! That was definitely a pleasant surprise. I’ll definitely be back for lunch. Great discovery!
Come early before 12:30pm to get a table. When we left at 1pm, there were already a few groups waiting outside.
