If you want to support social enterprise, come and try this. Run entirely by «retired» seniors, from the chefs to the servers, this place is a unique spot in the hipster-ish Gough Street. It’s also funny that they close the shop after lunch hours and before dinner time, just to let them to have an afternoon nap. They don’t need the money, and they are here to spend time, talk to people, and look for some fun. There are a lot of writings and pictures on the walls cheering for them, which make this small little restaurant warm and cozy in its way. I was here for lunch, and they had set menu. Pretty decent selections of food, featuring mainly western style cuisines. Also, they emphasize healthy ingredients too, so no MSG, if you wonder. I got a pan-fried fillet with linguine, and a beetroot soup(came with a drink too, including the special selections). The beetroot soup was good. I hated it at some VERY high end restaurant in town, so I was surprised the beetroot favour was just enough here, but not too strong that put me off. The fillet was well made, linguine was a bit oily, but if it’s healthy after all as they claim, I wouldn’t really mind. It was unfortunately covered with beetroot sauce too, so(1) it didn’t look good on pics, and(2) its taste kinda overlapped with the soup as I certainly wanted my meal to have a bit of variety. The staff were nice and friendly here, as I mentioned that they were not here for making a living, which changed pretty much everything. The price was on par with other shops here in Central/Soho/Noho(read: bit pricey), but I don’t mind supporting a social enterprise in this way. They also do catering service as well, from their own factory in New Territories. And of course, the workers there are all retired seniors too.
