Went to eat here for lunch on 8 Feb 2016. Service: Greeted by a lady who wouldn’t answer my question about the lunch menu. Instead she directed me to stand on the correct side of her table(the table looks the same from all sides!) Anyway, so I moved to where she wanted me to stand and she handed me the menu. I asked about the lunch menu again and she responded in a bored tone. First impressions, I thought she’s a rude, control freak. What’s the rest of our dining experience going to be like? Food: We had the Bento box, but it was mostly fried food and quite greasy. We also had the pork cutlet which was pretty tasty. Ambience: The restaurant is gorgeous, well designed, spacious and great how they have 2 kitchens on the main floor where you can watch chefs at work. Price: The price matches the décor but the food is hit and miss. The service of the waiting staff was basic, the lady in charge of seating is the worst. Conclusion: What a shame. We won’t go again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to go either.

3 out of 4 times that I come here it’s for their sliced beef on rice(which I raved about in my first review). Unfortunately, Kokomi is much lacking in consistency and recently their quality/cooking has really taken a turn for the worse. Their slice beef on rice has been disappointing on probably 5 out 8 most recent visits. I don’t normally re-review restaurants but this has been a remarkably slide in quality to what was once my favorite quick bite casual restaurant. I don’t think I will be back. 3-stars as their sushi is still decent, for now…

Reasonably priced place for lunch in Pacific Place, food is delicious … And you can usually get a table at the bar if you didn’t book. There is a lunch menu or a la carte. I’ve had the teriyaki chicken lunch set, and the black cod set, both were very tasty. My colleague has the bento set and it looked amazing, will definitely try it next time!

Pros: nice décor, friendly staff, and it is surprising quiet on the weekend. Seating is spacious so it’s good for family with kids. Not too pricey for the location, atmosphere and service. There are little things that are done nicely there: the place is generally dimly lit but the dining tables all get adequate lighting. The plating of the food, while nothing really fancy, is carefully done. It’s a kind of place where nothing is sloppy. Cons: food is just alright and some would probably think they are paying too much for the quantity and quality. You are looking at on average $ 200 per person for a lunch set. 2 people went for a light lunch and order a udon lunch set, 3 orders of sushi and a grilled chicken wing, and the bill came out to $ 400. We appreciated the grilled wings — they are not boneless but the joints have been cut off so you still get the joy of eating off the bone without having to tackle the messy joints! Overall: It is a good option if you are in PP and want to eat in a comfortable setting. However I will only go back if I am already in PP. Certainly not worth visiting just for the food.

Similar pricing to Zuma. I would prefer Nadaman if I wanted Japanese, but this place is convenient and close to office, and they have lunch sets. I got the negitoro rice and tempura udon. It was alright. I would come back, but only Bc I work near there. And it will do well because it’s in between offices and hotels. Unless it’s like really bad, then it might close and become another restaurant. Before kokomi it was Roka. And I think Roka had similar pricing to kokomi and decent food too. Both Roka and kokomi are the same I think. I usually get the beef teriyaki from Roka. But kokomi is new, so I’ll try this place again before it becomes another restaurant.

Just opened(Jan 62015) & we had tried most of the other places in this mall so we decided to try this one. Good food & decent size portions for this kind of place. Knowledgeable honest wait staff who did not oversell or push items on us as is often happens at high end places. This is a Maxims Group resturant which replaced Ruku, another higher end Japanese resturant. I think what Maxims tried to do was to update the look, make the place friendlier /more inviting & added a bar. The price point, HK$ 350 – 500 per person without drinks, is on the high side for what it is. More stars if it were lower priced. However, I would go back.
