Like many expats in HK, we eat out a lot. We’ve had a wide range of quality in our food, but one noticeable thing has been that the personal service has been overall lacking.
But we finally found truly friendly and caring service here at Double Happiness. The staff was super friendly and helpful. That’s enough to bring us back alone, but when we tasted the food, the experience became even better.
The pan fried dumplings and the spare ribs were delicious and very generously sized. The scallops and vegetables were fresh and plentiful and the fried rice was perfect.
Do yourself a favour, take a few extra steps down Staunton Street and find yourself here.

My wife and I were looking for a nice little inexpensive Chinese restaurant for a low-​key dinner. With a little research, we decided to try Double Happiness Café. What a gem! It is very obvious that the people that run this restaurant make it a priority to take very good care of the food, the guests and even the restaurant itself. We felt very welcome and cared for. We wanted to try a few things, so we ordered enough food to feed 3 or 4 people and it still totaled less than HK$ 350. Everything we ordered was excellent. Be sure to try the pan-​fried dumplings (pot stickers) and the black bean chicken with shallots. We also really liked the braised spicy tofu with minced pork.
