WONTONNOODLESOUP: Shrimp wontons layered at the bottom of the bowl with a pile of fine noodles on top. Pairs greatly with their orangey sauce that’s at the table, slightly similar to sriracha. So you can order your dish with either a dessert 糖水, a veggie side 油菜, and a side dish 小something. The options for those categories are at the bottom.

My favorite spot for noodle soup or congee! Very convenient location across from Times Square. The people working here are quick and efficient. There is someone at the front door who tells you where to sit and basically acts like a floor warden to make sure it doesn’t get too crowded inside. They have set menu items that are listed on the paper menus placed on each table like a table mat. It is written in Chinese so if you can’t read you may have a problem ordering. For about $ 10USD you can get a drink(soy milk or barley drink), noodles/congee, and an extra entrée(veggies, more wontons/dumplings, or dessert). Pretty sweet deal huh. There are lots of possible combinations for you to order(wonton, beef, pork…) and what I love best is how quickly they bring out your food. I have yet to order something I didn’t enjoy. The place is a bit tight and if you have a small party(less than 3), you might end up sharing a table during busy hours. It’s basically an in and out type of place. Most people don’t dwell around after eating. That’s part of why the turnover rate is pretty quick.

The beef stew noodle soup addiction doesn’t stop. I had this on my last night in HK and it was perfect because I got to have beef stew AND wonton AND noodles in one bowl. They have two different kinds of wontons… you can get the small ones and these gigantic ones. My family was raving about the bigger ones. I wouldn’t say this place was better than Mak Man Kee in Kowloon but it’ll do. The restaurant is spacious, has two levels, and is great for family parties.
