Friday night late night nail stop with a buddy near LKF meant hopping into the throngs for a beer and some nibbles. My friend had been out for early doors and had bought a glass of wine on the BOGOF offer at Agave so we headed back after our nail appointment to claim her second glass. The great thing is that their BOGOF happy hour finishes at 9pm which is great news for someone like me who doesn’t often finish work till gone 7. I get to play too! Aside for the cheap beer, we ordered a plate of chicken wings and a chorizo quesadilla. The quesadilla was on the spicy side(yum!) although a lot drippy and we had a good laugh at ourselves and the mess we made. The chicken wings were good — although on the greasy side. While I was the bar I got a message from the mum asking for takeaway to her hotel … The good news is the chicken wings travel well. The bad news, is eating six made us understand how much grease there is in them! They are very much a dish to share. As a final thought — the staff her are lovely! Chatty, friendly, and can banter. Maybe there’s still hope for LKF away from the tourists!

I remember tipping the staff profusely. The Aussie manager said I needn’t, but as an American I insisted. I made a friend that night. Having had dinner earlier on a Thursday my homeboy from Seattle(both of us home grown HK boys) wanted to intro me to this new specialist tequila place in town. I knew Patron was hot in the clubs but since when did HK develop a palette for this kind of firewater? Fast forward to 2AM: I’ve lost count of how many were knocked back; the sky was spinning and the joint was still bumpin’: hip hop was on blast while suits and tech types mingled with skirts, all so not ready to go home. Thank god my hotel wasn’t too far a stumble from here.
