Just another bar in the SOHO area. It’s quite the trek up a steep hill to get to this venue and there is Aberdeen Street Social which is located in PMQ at the bottom of the hill so make sure you double check which one you’re going to. I do enjoy that they have an outdoor area for people to sit though. This area is equip with tables, benches, and stools. This seems like a really chill place to catch up with friends over a drink.

After visiting the nearby hipster haven that is PMQ, I along with three friends were craving for Mediterranean food and lo and behold, wandered to this homey-looking joint that serves it. It was a very hot day(33°C) so the outdoor terrace with sofas didn’t seem like a very terrific idea, as the air-conditioning of the restaurant was much more inviting. The ambiance was cozy and played jazz music, a typical«hip and happening» place. I perused the extensive menu, which satisfied all lovers of food — they had meat, seafood, salads, vegetarian-friendly meals, you name it. For starters, we went with the Greek samosa, which consisted of feta cheese and sun-dried tomato samosa. The feta cheese was soft, creamy and salty, contrasting the savory flavor of the samosa. You would think that the cheese came from Italy(where most of the world’s imported feta cheese comes from), but when you have tasted Greek feta cheese, it makes sense why Greeks keep it for domestic consumption. We felt like splurging, so for the mains we went with the veggie pasta, sea bass and the lamb rack. The tomato sauce in the pasta was robustly flavored which can also be said for the zucchini and olives. We shared the saffron and cream-sauced fried sea bass and wished there was a second helping. I’ve never tasted anything cooked in saffron as good as this, which was complemented with the fragrant Basmati rice. Don’t get me started on the lamb rack that was grilled to perfection — it is worth every dollar. The meat was very, very tender and juicy, however I think it didn’t need the potatoes it came with as it was great on its own. We just wished it was a full rack instead of half. This place can make any diner happy due to its menu having numerous choices. Although, I have to say, take it easy after your degustation as you have a hill to walk down(or climb) to after your meal. I highly recommend this place for vegetarians, healthy eaters, and romantic dates.
