Tried to get a drink at 1:30 and was told very rudely by the woman that they close at 2:10 am (weird time to close but whatever)… We just wanted one last drink before going to bed. It was my first night in Santiago and was having a great time enjoying the city.
She came to our table immediately and looked annoying and pissed, while rolling her eyes because we had decided to stay for one drink. It wasn’t so much what she said as to how she said it.
She was so rude we decided to get up and leave and on the way out she was still confrontational and denying she had and attitude while still rolling her eyes!
Don’t waste your time on this place. There’s so many other better places it’s not worth visiting.
The place smelled bad and sad looking.

Entre tanto bar y restaurant carozzi en el bonito Barrio Lastarria, aparece este local donde puedes tomarte unos schop, comerte unas empanas o un sánguche por un módico precio.
De echo, por fuera pareciera un local más de los súper estilosos del sector, pero en realidad no es más que un bar sin mayores pretenciones de que pases a tomarte unas chelitas con los amigos. Por eso me cae bien el Berri.

En donde el dicho «el cliente siempre tiene la razón» pierde completo sentido.
La idea de salir a compartir con amigos después de un día de trabajo es una excelente forma de escapar de la rigidez en la oficina, pero te imaginas llegar a un lugar en donde existen «reglas» que llegan a no permitirte sentarte en una mesa con mas de 5 personas?
Ese lugar existe y es uno de los favoritos en el Barrio Lastarria, en este local no puedes modificar los ingredientes de sus platos de ninguna forma, no puedes entrar a su segundo piso de lunes a miércoles (zona del local en la que debes pagar 20% mas de la cuenta) y esta prohibido sentarse en mas de grupos de 5.
La razón de su éxito a pesar de esta rígida ideología? su cerveza artesanal negra es adictiva y su carne al ajillo me hacen pensar que tal vez su dueño tiene razón y simplemente no es necesario cambiar nada.
La ambientación de su segundo piso es maravillosa y convierten a esta sala en un excelente lugar para compartir… con no mas de 5 amigos claro.

Bar Berri is a classic in Lastarria. Their ambiance is cozy and definitely perfect for a cold winters night out. Berri’s has an old european bar feel to it that makes you want to stay and drink for hours while talking with your friends.
However, what really makes Bar Berri a must-​see is their decoration. They are especially know for their upstairs! Whether or not you can get seating on the second floor, I definitely recommend going up anyway to take a look. It is filled with old portraits and antiques — as if you have just entered a time capsule of the early 1900s.
If you are willing to pay 20% more for this ambiance have a drink upstairs if not, just go up and see what it’s all about (just make sure not to come Monday through Wednesday as it is closed to the public).
Tip: Bar Berri is not made for big groups! The owner is actually pretty adamant about keeping the groups to a minimum.
