Went to the Forks today and was so excited when I saw the churros truck. I have never had churros before, so this review would be based on my first experience with it.
I purchased the 3 for $ 5 filled churros, which come in Bavarian cream or dulce de leche. I decided to get two of the dulce de leche and one Bavarian cream. They also offer 5 regular churros for $ 5, or 3 churros and a dip for $ 5. For dipping sauces, they have saskatoon berry, choke cherry, raspberry, blueberry, chocolate, and maple syrup.
First of all, the churros were quite small (about 5 — 6 inches). The ones I’ve seen before on social media and food shows are usually quite long. Second, there really wasn’t much filling in the churros. Most of it was at the top where the opening is. As for taste, the churros was a bit dense and it was covered in sugar. From what my husband told me (who had churros before), he described his past churro experiences as being light, fluffy, and covered in cinnamon sugar. The Bavarian cream one was good, but the dulce de leche one was just too sweet for us.
Overall, I thought it was good, but it wasn’t totally amazing as I had hoped it to be.
