John Lewis House Bed & Breakfast

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Becky and Bob’s. They made us feel very welcome and as a fellow Brit I felt especially at home here, being surrounded my their charming English décor and their witty banter. Our room was immaculately clean, with a really comfy bed and lovely linens. The fresh fruit, flowers and yummy chocolate in our room everyday was an added bonus. We were fed a delicious, filling breakfast everyday and Becky baked muffins for us to take on our daily travels (some of which we froze when we got home as we could’t manage them all!). The B&B was in walking distance for everywhere we wanted to go in Victoria, and is also very close to the water which was a beautiful and scenic stroll to take. We fully recommend staying here!

My husband and I stayed here back in July of 2013, and I’m only now sitting down to write about it. First, the couple who runs this B&B is warm and friendly. They are helpful and not only answer any question that you have, they try to anticipate what you might need to know.
Second, the house is gorgeous! Some older homes have comfortable bedrooms and less-​than-​ideal bathrooms. Not this place! The bathrooms were remodeled. They are shiny and new! The bedrooms are a very decent size and the room had everything we needed in it – enough hangers, a window from which to look onto the street, etc.
Third, they have wifi! What? Yes, they have wifi! After being on a ship for about a week, it was like winning the lottery to be able to connect our phones to the wifi and communicate with our dog sitter, my father, and other people who might have been wondering whether or not we made it off the ship.
Finally, and this is by no means, the least of everything, the breakfasts here totally rocked!!! There were choices like yogurt – Greek or regular; fresh fruits; homemade granola, which was so, so good that I can still taste it; homemade muffins, which we took with us for later because we could never finish all our food; stuffed crepes; etc.
This B&B was so impressive that my husband and I were thinking about asking the couple about another place they own back in southwest England. We happen to be going there next summer. Why not stick with a winning team?
