Fantastic croissant breakfast sandwich that is so light and flakey yet perfectly filling! Their cinnamon buns are amazing as well! Great little find in Yaletown.

Ah, small victory. The interior here is gorgeous — their massive gold metal wall piece is so cool(and probably super easy to diy). Very minimalistic, with table and bench seating along the wall and further counter seating in adjacent to the cashier where you can watch baked goods as they come out. Their plates are pretty damn cool — big wooden geometric slabs, that can all interlock. It brings me back to elementary school making parallelograms and designs with those little plastic shapes. Coffee — they have Slate coffee so it’s just ridiculously good. I have to restrain myself from buying bags every time I’m here. Every flat white/cortado/latte I’ve had here has been perfectly on point. Food — I had an almond croissant which was really damn good but definitely not comparative to a croissant from Faubourg, for example. I find their food can be pretty pricy, but it must be worth it as its a revolving door of people buying pastries. With that said, this is where I get confused about this café — it really is a bakery in a lot of senses, but they do serve coffee… but it definitely feels more bakery heavy. Not that that’s a problem by any means but I remember feeling like I was drinking coffee in a bakery rather than a café my first time there. Worth checking out, especially for the design and atmosphere.

5 stars for the chicken pot pie! I would like to think of myself as a chicken pot pie connoisseur. Whenever chicken pot pie is on the menu(or eggs benedict, I also love eggs benedict) I will for sure order it. Small Victory’s chicken pot pie is so delicious. The pie crust is flaky like a croissant. The pie filling is so creamy with chunks of chicken breast, sweet peas, carrots, mushrooms. Describing it makes my mouth water! The iced lemon black tea is ok. I asked for sweetened but it’s still not sweet for my liking and I’m the person who doesn’t really like sugar on coffee but this iced tea needs to be sweetened some more. The latte is awesome. It’s creamy foamy just the way I like it. The beans were roasted to perfection. Not burnt(oh this will make Marc D happy!) Service is ok. I say half of the staff have a smile on their faces half of them seems you have to pay them first before they smile back at you. Will I ever go back to this place? For sure I will just for the chicken pot pie or maybe I’ll try a cheesecake next time.

The chic design, and location in an upscale neighborhood tend to draw in more of a snobby demographic(to spare the political correctness and generally speaking of course). But what can I say, they do their croissants right, and the customer service is spot on. Can not complain about the price, as it is reasonable in comparison to other quality bakeries in France. Some times it’s just worth it, especially when it comes to a craft like baking. Can’t speak for the entire menu as I have not tried everything, however from my experience; so far so good. Recommend.

Good but definitely on the pricey side. The latte and Gibraltar we ordered was definitely good, but not the best. The chocolate espresso bar one of the employees recommended was just so-so, a bit indulgent for my taste buds and difficult to eat since it kept falling apart with every bite. The place itself has really nice décor, although the lighting could use some work. It’s always busy, so expect to wait in line a bit before getting your drinks and pastries. For two people, expect to spend about $ 13 – 15 if you both get a latte and a pastry.

Very modern and minimalist chic, this café is very Vancouver. The gold geometric art on the walls scream ‘you can’t afford me’ and the too-cool staff hanging out in their fashionable outfits almost yell ‘INSTAGRAMME’. I love it. My friend and I got matching salted caramel cheesecakes which we enjoyed near the waterside due to the overwhelming lack of seating in the café itself. For that moment, my tongue was covered in a delicious coat of cheese and caramel and heaven. But only for a moment because damn, those cheesecakes are small! Like everything in Yaletown, it was overpriced. However, I will probably return. Because cheesecakes.

Yaletown had no cool cafes up until about a year ago. Don’t get me wrong we had JJ, blenz, artegiano and Sbux as well as my old favourite CooCoo. Yet there were no gorgeous spots that had lovely i.d.(interior design) with pour over goodness of quality beans like bows and arrows, delightful baked goods and the caché of coffee shops in gastown. Small Victory filled all these voids. SV is a working bakery. You see all the behind the scenes action as they bake your bread, make your sandwiches, create your pastries and make your coffee or tea. The staff as well as owners(who are on site all the time) make sure your experience is stellar. I love having a gorgeous spot I might find Abbot Kinney or NYC in my hood. One thing that knocked this down to a 4 star is the fact that the pour over is served in a mug. Not conducive for the relaxing experience of small sips in a glass cup. A small carafe and a glass cup would make this spot top notch. g PS I had a chicken sandwich here and it was the bomb. PS2 the croissants are France quality.

Nice to have a place with this level of quality so close to home. Could be dangerous. Bread is amazing. Coffee is amazing. Pastries are amazing. Croissants amazing. Dangerously amazing. Maybe a bit too close to home. Oh well it’s all amazing.

My friends invited me to a brunch at their home on Tuesday. I don’t like to go to these types of events without bringing something. So, on Monday I decided to go to Small Victory Bakery to get some dessert for the upcoming brunch. I’ve walked by this place lots of time; its right beside the YYoga studio(fitting hey?) I go to. Anyways, I dropped by and got 6 little dessert cakes… 2 double chocolate cakes and 2 different types of cheese cakes(1 fruit and the other a chocolate cheese cake). I have to say these things are really rich! There is only so much rich dessert any human being can consume! I hit my limit pretty quickly! I like desserts but I find that I can only eat a small amount! I guess that’s a good thing! Also, checkout my 5 mile run after eating these bad boys! Small Victory Bakery is also kind of a coffee shop too. It looked like a pretty cool place to hang out. I’m going to come back to this bakery and have a coffee here one day and I’ll try some of their other offerings. I walked into the bakery on Monday afternoon I thought I was walking into an Apple Store! There must have been at least 7 or 8 Apple laptops proudly displayed! Damn Apple Products are so ubiquitous now a days… Surprise of surprises… people in Yaletown are conspicuous consumers! Haha!!!

Small Victory has become my favourite spot for an Americano and the food is amazing. Starting from their Paris style flaky buttery croissants to the best Tiramisu on this side of Napoli! Start with a Smoked meat sandwich if you are hungry before the goodies and you won’t be disappointed. Keeps bringing me back here every time…

Stopped by Small Victory on a dreary rainy afternoon and was treated with a bright and well decorated interior with lots of marble and wood everywhere. The pastry case is an amazing display of delicious pastries and I really just wanted to order everything. After some strong internal debate over what to get, I ended up ordering a butter croissant and a London Fog latte and grabbed a seat at the bar. The croissants were delicious, fluffy and soft on the inside with just the right amount of crisp on the outside. The croissants perfectly baked and weren’t over-buttered and greasy like the offerings at Starbucks. The London Fog was also a nice and warm pick me up for the rainy day and the milk was steamed to just the right temperature without scalding your tongue.

WORLD-CLASSCROISSANTS! Real croissants are rare. Hundreds of layers, light-as-air, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. A lot of what call themselves croissant these days aren’t. Like those things at Starbucks. What are they? They’re some kind of bread product but they’re certainly not croissants. Small Victory is a small treasure of a place. Elegant modern design, always friendly service, and baked good as good as any you’ll find in Paris. Their desserts are divine, too. Your mouth is watering, isn’t it? Stop reading and go.

I came here to catch up with a friend on a Sunday and catch up on my reading after a friend recommended it as a nice place to hang out for a few hours. The décor is very modern and sleek and having the ability to see the kitchen and all the ovens baking the delicious goodness is great. They also have seating outside which would be a pleasant place to enjoy your coffee while people watching in the summer time. The service was ok and I found the owner quite friendly but the staff working the cash a bit pretentious and not so happy. It seemed like during my recent visit the cashier didn’t really want to be there as had quite an attitude. The selection of baked goods is one of the best in the city. I ordered a small butter croissant filed with Chantilly cream that was done to the perfection. Their lattes and cappuccinos are good to and I would highly recommend them too. I’m happy to have found another cool café to hang out to catch up with my magazine reading while enjoy the company of my friends and sometimes just people watching…

New good option for those who love bakeries. The cheese and bacon croissant is delicious, crunchy and very filling. People there was very nice even when is time to close. Just think it is a bit pricey. Had 2 croissants and paid a bit more than 10 dollars.

Stumbled upon Small Victory while perusing some shops in Yaletown. Some tasty pastry options and definite potential. As far as food goes, the savory items I tried were lackluster. The bread was the best part of the grilled veggie sandwich. I will note that although we requested no eggplant, the sandwich came out with eggplant. The mushroom gruyère tart was OK; likely better first thing in the morning. The sweeter options fared better: the salted caramel cheesecake and kouign-amann were very tasty — flavorful but not terribly sweet. Iced coffee was good. Service was decent. Staff is friendly and approachable. However, they lacked any energy or excitement, which dampened my overall experience. My one unsolicited note is as to the décor/ambiance. Yes, I understand the minimalist and sleek aesthetic with the wood, metal, and marble combination. But it’s also dangerously close to being drab, cold, and uninviting. I’d love to see some wall plants or flowers on the counter to liven the space up. It may just help improve some of the inauthentic elements of the space.

Great new find in Yaletown Vancouver. Friend brought me here for brunch this morning and I’m so happy she did. We had their croissant breakfast sandwich and chicken pot pie. The chicken pot pie is very good. The pastry crust was very flaky and the stuffing inside is very flavorful. However I wish it had more cream soup base inside as I prefer more sauce in the pies. We also had their latte and mocha and we both really enjoyed their coffee. To finish our brunch we shared a pistachio cream cake and it was good treat. Not like other cakes that are overly sweet. It gives a hint of pistachio but I wish it had more pistachio nuts on the cake for more textures. Overall great experience here. Staff are super friendly. Décor is very trendy and modern.

Amazing! I have been reading about this place on all my favourite blogs, I just never really bothered to look up the address. One day I found myself wandering around in Yaletown and came across this place and i told myself I must try this place. I really really loved the Matcha Latte! I am not a matcha lover, i can only enjoy it if its freshly made and unsweetened. This is exactly how small victory prepared the matcha latte! The foam was quite dense, which I also loved. I am planning to bring my closest girlfriends back and enjoy some afternoon coffee/tea!

A beautiful modern space with great coffee. High ceiling with high quality decors are impressive and beautiful to look at. People tend to sit down and work so seats are always limited… I have tried Coconut cream cake and I loved the toasted coconuts with its light cream between sponge cake. I could eat two slices of this in one seating. Yum! I love the staff’s passion for tea and coffee. Note to all: their americano is consistent.
