Interesting little coffee place that’s inside the Global Atomic Designs clothes store. It’s not really a coffee shop of any kind, but rather a small coffee area on the end of the store counter. It’s an interesting setup, but certainly not the best multipurpose coffee shop I’ve been to(that award goes to the hardware store come coffee shop in Cannon Beach OR!). The coffee though is pretty delicious, check some of the other reviews on here RE the custom roasted beans(roasted in butter and sugar). The result is certainly a very rich, bold, and earthy brew that’s pretty delicious, and very different from the rest of the Yaletown offerings. An interesting, if slightly odd coffee experience.

This is inside Global Atomic Designs. I actually found this place completely by accident. It’s one of the hidden treasures in Vancouver. In fact I felt as though I struck gold in terms of secrecy. They roast their beans in butter. The guy who also runs the shop made me smell some beans and I was in love. The combination of butter and beans was amazing. I need this stuff to be a perfume… seriously. Because it is a coffee shop within the clothing store, this is a total grab and go situation. I had a Spanish style latte with condensed milk, however, I barely tasted the sweetness of the condensed milk. What I did taste was a bit of a smooth buttery feel without the taste pallet distraction and the richness of the condensed milk. The price for what it was… very reasonable under $ 5

Read about this place this morning in a Huffington Post article. They have their beans custom roasted in butter and sugar. How the hell could I not run there, ASAP? Please be aware! Black Echo is located within Global Atomic Designs, a cool clothing store in Yaletown. Sadly they do not have large enough cups for my gluttonous desire. But that cup does satisfy! This coffee is totally unique. Smooth yet strong in a good way, creamy buttery texture and flavour. So interesting. I’ve never had anything like it before– it could become an addiction. $ 22 for a pound of beans to brew at home… $ 3 for a medium sized Americano. A must try for every coffee connoisseur. DEEEEELICIOUS!!!
