We had Man’s Man and Magic Mushroom burgers with a side of fries. the food was just ok. so expensive for what it is the beef is organic but it was not so fresh. it had some kind of stinky smell. i dont know what it is but burgers we have had in vancouver had this kind of bad smell. maybe because we had high expectation, maybe because we read amazing reviews on Unilocal,we were disappointed after we ate here.

Finally came out to Romers. My experience was OK. Service was meh. We had to ask for water refills a few times and it was hard to get our waitress’ attention. The food was good but nothing spectacular. I’m glad someone warned me ahead of time that you only get a burger and no fries or salad with your order. That is all separate. I think I’d go back if a friend wanted to. not my first choice though.

My boyfriend and I went here for dine out over the weekend — and the food was delicious. I would for sure come back for a good burger. Our server was really busy and we were seated off to the side so our service wasn’t the most attentive. For appy’s we got the tomato soup and calamari, then we both got the mighty mushroom burger(mine with a veggie patty) with a shareable order of the garlic fries(must be a garlic lover to eat these fries), and for dessert these really tasty doughnuts with a caramel whisky sauce.

I loved the truffle fries. Plus the truffle mayo. The Chipotle mayo was ok. I found it a bit too spicy but goes with when you mix it with the truffle mayo. I got the Romer Righteous Rib burger and that was Delicious. Its basically a beef patty with a piece of rib inside. The portion might look small but its super filling. Loved it. Its so yummy. Only one thing is that their burger doesn’t come with fries. So you have to order that separately. I suggest order the full size and share it. It just makes more sense. The décor is ok. Its pub style. The place isn’t like super big but its ok. Booth seats are comfy. Service is great. At least it wasn’t too difficult for me to get their attention. Washroom is downstairs and might be a problem for those who have troubles with stairs. They also have a party room downstairs and it looks pretty fancy. I do recommend this place. Will come back.

I had a lunch meeting here. I had never been before and I love trying something new! The place was empty so we got a fantastic booth lol king over the restaurant. Lots of space which was great as we needed to do some computer work. I would give this place a 4 stars just based on how fantastic our server was. Coffee always topped up and she went way out of her way to help us connect to their wifi. I think she brought us 3 or 4 different passwords and didn’t give up until we were connected. My friend ordered first and it sounded so good I had to copy her — a bun-less mushroom burger with a side beet salad. Both were fantastic and I plan on returning to explore other items on the menu!

I’ve had burgers before, but the burger at this place was amazing !! I had the magic mushroom burger which was beef patty, caramelized onion, mushrooms, baby arugula, and garlic sauce. The burger was definitely flavourful ! Coolest thing about this place was that I can either substitute the«normal burger» bun with a skinny or gluten free bun. Gluten free bun was okay, but I love the skinny bun. Let’s just say it’s definitely skinny, but very addicting… and I don’t feel like I’m eating a ton of carbs. Soooooo… I also ordered the garlic and sea salt fries. Once you’ve tasted these fries, it’s hard to go back to just regular fries. This is definitely fries worth sharing with friends :)

Romer’s is one of the first restaurants I visited after moving to Vancouver, and everything I’ve had there has been amazing. The salad? It’s salad, it’s fine. Don’t go to Romer’s and eat a salad unless you’re on a diet or a vegetarian. This place is known for its burgers — If you eat one, you’ll see why. The Chorizodor is great, and Jimmy’s All Day Breakfast Burger is amazing, but if you really want something that’s done perfectly almost every time, go for the Man’s Man. The mustard really gives it the perfect amount of extra flavor, and they have a beer selection just large enough to offer some tasty pairings — For almost every burger, I recommend the flavor of Angry Scotch. They usually have something delicious and wholly unique for their monthly burger special too, and the yam fries are perfect… Mmm, that chipotle aioli sauce. I will admit, the first time I visited, I looked at the menu and thought«How weird that they only offer one desert…»(This may have changed since) Once you eat the Drunken Donuts, you’ll get it. You wouldn’t want to order anything else from the desert menu after having these. At Romer’s, in the desert arena, there can be only one, and I’m very glad this is «the one». If you get nothing else at Romer’s, get these. Service is friendly, bartenders are fast, and they put a lot of care into their takeaway service. Packaging is eco-friendly, silverware is actually wood(which is interesting), and they pay attention to details — When we took some yam fries home, they warned us they left the container itself open in the bag so the fries wouldn’t get soggy. All sauces and sides are packaged separately, and almost everything tastes just as good at home as it does in the restaurant… So if you want to eat there on a busy night but don’t feel like waiting, don’t give a second thought to taking it home with you! In-house, the staff is equally fantastic. They’ve given us samples of beers we were unfamiliar with, recommended substitute side seasonings and sauces that were perfect when we weren’t in the mood for what was offered on-menu, and have always been completely accommodating and warm, despite that one time we were there past closing… The reason for the missing star: Delivery, some flavors on the burgers soak in and become over-bearing. As mentioned, they do fantastic with the packaging and care to each individual menu item, but it’s hard to master the flavors of a burger with such strong and distinctive flavors when dealing with delivery. We’re SO glad you guys have decided to offer delivery, and we totally understand the challenges, but feel there’s still room to improve. Romer’s utilizes a third-party delivery system like MANY other restaurants in the city, but they may want to consider some alternatives to maintain quality. Don’t take this the wrong way — We’ll definitely still be ordering/recommending. I took my parents here when they visited for the first time, and they were blown away. Bottom line: If you want the experience I’ve been raving about, dine in-house. It is absolutely worth the trip. Thanks, Romer’s. You gave me the proper Vancouver Welcome every diner hopes for.

I was craving a burger and this place certainly satisfied. There is a variety of burger types and a Burger of the Month to choose from. I had a BOM which was a a delicious bratwurst sausage meat patty with sauerkraut on a pretzel bun. My husband had a Magic Mushroom burger. We shared the garlic and sea salt fries. We ate everything!

After a lot of hype and encouragement from friends who rave about Romer’s I came, I saw and I was incredibly underwhelmed. Romer’s is a really nice looking restaurant and we found the service satisfying. However we tried some of the daily special drinks which were a sugary, watered-down complete waste of time and money. This daily drink special experience could certainly happen at other establishments, however the main disappointment came with our burger. I do expect that a Burger restaurant will take the appropriate measures to put together a variety of exceptional options, however this truly is not the case if you are a vegetarian. After having the vegetarian burger here(ordering fries is an additional cost to this $ 12+ price tag) I can honestly say that Romer’s does not take their Vegetarian market seriously. This is incredibly disappointing especially due to the fact that trendy, electic Vancouver is a hub for mindful food choices. I’m sure if I ate beef my review would sound a lot different, but I was incredibly disappointed by the inferior quality of this Veggie burger and certainly hope that Romer’s takes this criticism to heart and improves on what they offer customers like myself in the future.

As a «gourmet» burger joint, this«chain» is doing it pretty well. Second time being to Romers, first to this location. Got myself the Man’s Man Burger, a burger topped with maple smoked bacon(nice and thick), whole-grain mustard(yum, more places need to do this with burgers), tomato, onion strings, organic beef(delicious smokey taste to the meat) and a brioche bun(buttery and soaks up all the juices of the burger). You can’t really go wrong with this burger. The touch of adding whole grain mustard was delightful as it brought a sour tanginess to richness of the burger. The fries are thick and have a nice potato taste and texture to it. Yeah you pay like 12 for a burger(average price at any other restaurant a la Earls) but as long you aren’t eating these all the time, it’s a nice choice.

If its a Expensive Burger you are after, this is the place. My wife & I went here one day as we live in the area. We had a Burger each with a side of Yam Fries and a Beer each. Being as it is located right on the Fraser River next to the Walking path it makes for a nice view. The Bill came to over $ 60 for a lunch. For me, that is a bit much. Burger was good, but not That good for the price paid. We returned again another time while we were walking along the River walk. We wanted to stop in for a drink, and was informed they can not serve drinks without food. Lest to say, we never returned after that.

A solid burger bar that has a few other items to round out the menu. The staff are nice and the man’s man burger was delicious. Everything is a la carte so side orders like fries are priced separately. Prices are higher than a place like MacDonald’s, but the quality is obviously much higher. The share plate of fries is good for 2 people and the dipping sauces are a nice option(also a LA carte). Bacon in my burger was a decent thickness. Craft beer options available. I don’t have much to say about it other than its a decent business.

Good quality food and friendly servers. The turkey burger was awesome and the garlic fries was STELLAR! The only reason I’m rating 4-star is their burgers come with zero sides! You have to order your fries or salad separately and it makes it a little bit overpriced!

Burger and fries, a classic combo and perfect for a casual dinner(or lunch or brunch or whatever floats your boat). We came here because it was featured on the Food Network and while we were not disappointed, we were not mind-blown either. The truffle oil fries were definitely the best part! Came out piping hot and fragrant. Maybe we’ve been too spoiled with the duck fat truffle fries in Washington, DC at District Taphouse, but the ones at Romer’s were quite good too. Just not as amazing(sorry). You win this time America. We ordered two burgers, one of which was the Kobe beef one. Allegedly. Didn’t think it tasted like Kobe beef but it was a decent burger and was juicy. We would maybe stop by again to try their mushroom burger(the one wrapped in lettuce). Overall service was pretty good and the atmosphere was nice. Would recommend.

I can’t give this place any stars. After 4 visits(it’s close to home and I wanted it to be good) no redeeming features were noticed. The best I can say is service was informal and very, very friendly. Food was not tasty… Over cooked, messy presentation, not as represented in menu, and cold ¾ times. Drinks were watery. Atmosphere was dingy. The location near the River is Marginally better. Save your time and money. There are lots of great places on 4 th Ave

There are certainly pluses and minuses here. + The beef is fantastic + Fresh toppings + Great service + Great atmosphere — Bun is overrated and greasy on the outside — You pay $ 15 for just a basic burger, no sides/add-ons — Sides are extra, if you want fries, salad, etc. — Felt a little«get em in, get em out» because I don’t drink booze/pop. — A little loud, hard to hear my friend sitting right across from me

I was craving a good burger and found out that Romers has gluten free buns! I was pretty stoked. The lay out here reminded me of a similar restaurant in Monterrey but less in your face. The décor is simple with lots of dark reds and wood. We were seated at a booth almost immediately and I have to say the staff is superb. Our server was highly knowledgable about the menu and any allergens in the food, cross contamination etc, and was very mindful of my choices. I ordered the So Cal Turkey burger, with a gluten free bun and a side of yammy fries that come with a tangy banana catsup. My bf had the manly man burger that was a hand made beef patty with fried onions on top. He had the salted garlic fries and boy were they fresh! Everything was, but the drinks we ordered were not the best, someone wasn’t making these drinks right. I also wasn’t entirely satisfied with my meal… unfortunately. I just feel that a bit more care could be taken in the food, it was simply a burger on a plate. Nothing too special. Great service though and smiling ppl. I might go again but it didn’t make my list of favorites.

I went here based on the great Unilocal reviews for the best burgers in the Vancouver and Romer’s didn’t fail to disappoint! Both times, I got the Man’s Man Burger, it juicy, delicious with the perfect array of sauce — Wild Grain Mustard with the nice subtle touch of the Olive Mayo! YUM! I also really enjoyed the onion strings, they give the burger for of a crispy character. I love the egg wash bun, it’s my favorite time of restaurant style bun, as it really gives it nice«polished» look. The second time, my boyfriend and I split the Man’s and got the Righteous Rib Burger, it was good, but not as tasty as the Man’s Man. I would have like it with some sort of complementary vegetable or toppings. I’m not sure what, but something to balance meat of the burger patty and ribs. This is a great date and socializing location, tons of TV and everyone seems to be socializing and enjoying themselves. I didn’t give it a 5 star because I felt the price for one burger being $ 12.95(just the burger) is more on the expensive side. When I think about the food cost and labour on a burger, I’m just not sure if it’s worth $ 12.95 all the time, but here and there — why not:) Service wise, everything was on point. Servers were friendly, introducing the specials and checking up on us. Romer’s you are amazing, keep up the great work. One day, I will try those MINIDONUTS that I see everyone eating, as I’m always DROOLING when I walk by!

the burger, while delicious and entirely fresh(sauces appear made in house, as is the burger bun!), it is a bit diminutive; limited beer selection. Their drink menus aren’t comprehensive; e.g. you have to look under ‘specials’ to learn they serve caesars at all. Or do they serve them only on THAT day?

The original, and the classic. While they’re great burgers without saying, it’s the ambience here too, and even if you come alone, the U-shaped bar’s pretty cool. Nice booth seating. Extra stars for its private room downstairs and delicious burgers delivered right to your door. Private is good enough for 12 ppl or so.
