Best hot chocolates! Staff are quick, friendly and professional. Like the ambience. Favorite place to go.

This is my favorite Blenz location by far! I come here often to study, and its perfect with the long wooden tables and well lit atmosphere, and lots of plugs+ free WiFi. Great coffee of course because Blenz has some of the best tasting drip coffee I’ve tried, and staff are always friendly and pleasant :)

Great hot chocolate. Need a better gluten-free section(muffins, still in their containers from the grocery store — this doesn’t quite cut it). Also — PLEASE do something about the music. It sucks. You know it’s bad when half the patrons(I counted) are wearing earphones. Barenaked Ladies = just. no. I suggest Still like it for the big wooden tables, plenty of natural light, and good internet!

This is the best blenz coffee I have ever been to in town. The quality of the drinks are high in comparison to other blenz shops. For example, I ordered a medium matcha chillo. Many stores’ tea taste overly sweet. However, this one was just right. The hot chocolate is also great. The interior design and décor are the best I have seen for coffee shops(very modern, with different types of seats). The background music is quite subtle. Many writers come here, apparently. The place is usually fairly quiet, so good place to go if you are trying to do something.

This is my local café, so I am most certainly a fan. I’d give five stars for everything except one important detail, which I’ll address at the end. First, the management: wonderful. They’re extremely kind people who know the names of regulars and with authentic friendliness get to know your likes and habits. One of them even kindly removed a song from the café’s playlist because of an offensive lyric.(Long story, not getting into it – just wanted to say how very cool I think it is to have responsible, sensitive staff who’d be approachable in this way.) The food is typically Blenz, with the usual good tea list and coffee arrangements. No surprises here. And generally the music is just perfect — Sunday morning Beatles? Yes please! Atmosphere generally is very good. It’s at time busily studious(see below); but generally very relaxed and quiet. There’s a very cool mix of regulars who filter in and out and remind me of what an interesting, offbeat neighbourhood Kits has become in comparison to the 90s era of new mums and soccer clinics. With Banyen Books and the Comic Shop nearby, reading material is only a step away. OK: the bad news. Am I a relic in wanting to read in cafes? Sorry, Joshua, but the fleet of laptops are annoying. I know some people like to write their novels or study for exams(or just as likely trawl FaceBook), but the café can be much closer to a computer lab some days. UBC students often lack a basic consideration of space(re: the 99 bus on a weekday) and so with all the laptops and backpacks — it can be very difficult to find a space to just sit and have a coffee. Put 5 of them at a table grinding for a law midterm and there’s no peace to be had. I realise it’s a tension between management trying to make the most use of a small space to the varied needs of a clientele, but the cramped quarters can feel more like a Apple Genius bar rather than busy Euro café. Kits cafes in general have this problem, but the layout at this Blenz is too easily exploited by those not being considerate of others.(tsk tsk!)

I really love that this particular location has tons of seating with gorgeous harvest tables. At one point during my 4 hr study session there, everyone in the café was quietly working on something, and the only noise was the soft playing music. Absolutely loved that! Of course it all went to crap when a bunch of people sat in the table next to me and started up a rather loud conversation. The only thing I didn’t like was that the latte I ordered wasn’t as hot as it usually is :(Not entirely sure how that happened, but I enjoyed my study time nonetheless.

If you buy anything in at this coffee shop, buy the hot chocolate or the iced hot chocolate. This place uses actual Belgian chocolate. A lot of Blenz say that they use Belgian chocolate, but they use dried powders or syrups. I asked what they used here and they showed my a bucket of chocolate chips, so its really real chocolate. We frequently walk over 1 hour to get to this shop specifically for this chocolate style drink. The staff are super friendly as well and wifi is available upon request. If you’re a chocolate fan, some here and try a chocolate drink the way its supposed to be made.

Love it! This is one of the best places for a Writer to go to or anyone who has work to do! The long wooden tables are ready for a fleet of laptops. The atmosphere is very relaxing especially in the morning. They always play some cool jazz or classical at a non-invasive volume while you write your great novel in the morning. The staff have always been great here! I’m particular to Sunny. He’s always pleasant and very thoughtful. As a team they seem to be very supportive of one another. Also this is one of the few or only places in the city where you can find my favorite granola bars! These are so addictive. I’m not even going to use words to describe them. Just try one for yourself. The internet connection is always really good and the food/drink selection is the same as other Blenz plus the granola bars and probably a few other items. It is missing a star due to the pricing. I would love it if they were at least a little bit less than Starbucks. But a 4⁄5 ain’t nothing to shy at either.

This has got to be one of the nicest Blenz in the area. Beautiful, clean and they are consistently turning out great coffee. One thing I hate is inconsistency in cafes depending on who’s working. Of the dozen or so times I’ve come here, every time has been great. Good seating, ample light and easy enough to find parking.
