This is a cozy coffee shop conveniently a step away from the 99 B-line stop at the westmost end of Broadway. They serve Parallel 49 beans and a limited selection of teas as well as baked goods to enjoy while you duck inside for a break from the rain. The space moderate in size and has ample seating and bright natural light courtesy of the large bay window at the front. The music selection is varied but overall pleasant and not disruptive should you seek a place to study or just relax and take your mind off of things. The staff are friendly and greet you as you enter and as you leave and enjoy to chat when it’s not too busy. Overall the coffee is great whether you’re going for a drip or having something pulled at the bar. The baked goods are not too bad but its evident that these are premade food service products like you would find at Starbucks so the freshness at best is likely from frozen the night before, that being said this is a coffee shop and not a bakery there are several of those within close walking distance should you be seeking a fresh baked muffin. If you happen to be down in the area do stop by and enjoy a cup while sitting by the window you will not regret it.

Caffe W’s décor is impeccable, almost like they are subtly copying Parallel and 49th. The baristas are cheery, greet you as you enter and thank you as you leave. But…I ordered a muffin. It was carrot zucchini, and I think the muffins at McDonalds taste better. Although Caffe W is conveniently located by the 99 bus stop, and they have great service, that muffin pretty much ruined the experience for me.

I love Caffe W. I think they did a fantastic job with the renovations. The décor is the perfect combination of modern and rustic. The staff are so friendly! They smile when you come in and ask you questions about your day. They proudly bring your choice hot beverage to your table, complete with leaf design! Their coffee is GOOD, too! It’s strong enough. That’s hard to find in Vancouver. My only suggestions for improvement are: 1.) More organic tea selections. 2.) More healthy snack offerings. 3.) LONGERHOURS! I live a block away and would be here all the time in the late evening studying. I can see that the hours were extended to 7:00pm, but it would be amazing if doors were open until 10pm, especially on Thursday, Friday and Saturday(prime study slots). Thank you for creating a community hub, Caffe W!

It’s a beautiful coffee shop. I enjoy staying there. I can see this as my go to place. The tea there is very well presented and tastes great.

Hours are very limited but a nice place to study~ Plenty of space and natural lighting compared to other small non-chain coffee shops. Very cute décor and good music. The benches are wooden, so slightly hard. Prices are in the more costly range. The coffee is nice and strong and keeps me awake!

Cute small hipster coffee shop with basic décor, limited seating, free wifi, great service and they made a killer London Fog. This is off the beaten path a little bit, however, well worth the visit if you’re all the way down the other end of W. Broadway. Hours of operation are limited, however, managed to sneak in before my meet up group.

I live a block away from Coffee Break but up until recently I’ve only ever gone in on rare occasions — always to take out. Since the business was sold and the lovely couple that took it over have done some changes, my son and I have been in for lunch a few times this week alone. We now feel welcome and the complimentary fruit for my son always goes down a treat! Looking forward to my next Caramel Latte

If you’ve just missed your bus, relax and step inside Coffee Break for a delicious treat! I love the apple streudels and the poppy seed loaf is to die for. The tea is good but I’m not much of a coffee drinker so I can’t comment on that — although my friends love it!

Let me tell you about Coffee Break. Coffee Break is the promise that I make to myself on Monday mornings. The thought of a hot, panini-pressed breakfast sandwich with fluffy scrambled eggs, real cheddar cheese, and thick cut smoked bacon has lured me to many a work day. The café’s owner is always meticulous when she prepares it: the filling is taken out of the sandwich and microwaved until it just steams, perfectly timed so that the egg and bacon are hot, but not overcooked. She grills the English muffin and cheese in the panini-press, creating cheese crisps along the golden brown crust. Then she puts it back together, and serves it in a paper bag with a napkin. The fact that I can buy one of these sandwiches for under four dollars means that I make the Coffee Break promise to myself a lot. Sometimes, when I’m feeling really indulgent I buy the special coffee of the week, an Almond Mocha or a Chai Latte, and it’s good, I enjoy it. Sweet, but still good. Over the years I’ve also sampled the club sandwich, the tuna melt, the blt and the sausage roll, and everything was equally as fantastic. But let’s be honest: after the first time I had a breakfast sandwich, I have never gone to Coffee Break without the intention of buying one. Sometimes I buy things WITH my breakfast sandwich, but we all know why I’m really there… and why I’ll totally be there again.

Great little neighbourhood café with a nice ambience. Certainly a notch up from the bland corporate giants in this business. Plus they do take MasterCard as well as Visa and use real sugar(!) not artificial sweetner in their gourmet coffees. Finally, they offer a good selection on breakfast sandwiches at reasonable prices.

A nice quiet coffee shop out near West Point Grey. Parking is pretty easy to find around here, on the street. The inside is cozy, with a couple of couches and a cute-looking fireplace as well. They also sell sandwiches and other pastries here, though I didn’t try today. However, I did have their vanilla latte, and it was actually quite decent as it wasn’t too sweet. It tasted like they used sweetener(instead of real sugar) though. It would’ve been nice if they’d let you choose. They have some sockets here too. So it could be a pretty decent place to study as well. Nice and quiet. One last note: they do accept Visa, but not MasterCard.
