Jacob & Sebastian

I spent all of 5 minutes in this store. I didn’t browse and I didn’t need to look around. My wife wanted some cream that she had J & S order in. I had spoken to Joel over the phone and this thing was on hold for her but I was in the hood so I told her I’d pick it up.
Wow this thing whatever it was called was pretty expensive (over 400 bucks). Still the place is kept quite neat and it has a nice feeling to the place.
Yes, I am a great husband.

I don’t have anything bad to say about this place! I love all the brands they carry, and the owner is very sweet and knowledgeable.
They started carrying brands that were very hard to find in Canada in general — before anyone else. I think they also do a lot of testing to see what ends up on the shelves.
Some of the lines include Tata Harper, Kahina (love their argan oil!), RMS, Provence Apothecary and many other clean lines. They even carry Mario Badescu (not a clean line but hard to find in Toronto).
If they have samples they will give you one (but they are limited). It’s not a department store where you can sample more and return if it doesn’t work (like Sephora — which I like because my skin is so reactive) but they do have a well curated selection and will direct you to the path of high end eco lines.
Because a lot of these lines are becoming more accessible in the Canadian market it will be interesting to see what new lines they will bring in.

I love how they carry the high end beauty products that all other companies do not carry. I wanted to pick up a RMS product and this store was the only store that carried it near me. Its so hard finding these kinds of products in Canada sometimes!

I popped in this store with a friend who needed sunscreen and I’m glad I tagged along! Such a cute little store with a pretty great selection of skin care lines. Nice luxury but pretty affordable products and a great location!
Are you a Mo Bro or Mo Sista who loves supporting their partners? This is the place for you! Great products all natural men’s skin care line by Rebels Refinery (as seen on Dragon’s Den) and great razors and products from Harry’s shave club.
The staff are friendly are helpful in choosing products. They were quite knowledgeable about different skin types and products that would be best.
Would definitely go back!

I come here to replace my skin cream every 6 months and they always remember me, my product and are so knowledgable about their product lines!

My wife and I drop in at least once a month and always end up with something. Joel is fantastic and treats each of our drop ins as neighbours visiting as opposed to an opportunity to ‘sell’ to us. This makes us want to support more, of course.

Jacob & Sebastian has a great selection of body, bath, skincare and beauty products for men and women. Very well curated to ensure J&S is a one-​stop shop for all your hard-​to-​find, high-​end beauty needs.
Also, the customer service here is excellent — Joel is helpful without being intrusive, and always willing to offer samples and go the extra mile to ensure that everyone leaves the store happy and satisfied. It should also be noted that his skin and hair are always eerily perfect, which I think reflects well on the quality of the product he stocks.

If I was a girl who liked perfumes, lotions of different smells, and candles, I’d be all over this store spending all my money.
It all smells so good, but alas!
I don’t wear perfumes, I only use Yu-​Be as my moisturizing cream (cured my eczema and is more natural), but the hand creams are luxurious and to die for.
Come here if you want to get high end skincare lines, Mario Badescu (they have the whole range!), and amazing fragrances.

I just got home from buying yet another fabulous gift from Jacob & Sebastian. Because the service is always so informative and served up with a smile I wanted to spread the love. This place is always first in my mind for gifts of any occasion and for the men and women and professionals in my life. I especially love talking to the one young man (forgive me I don’t know his name) who is there every time I go, he know’s the product well and has fantastic insight. I love candles and I go there because I know I will find a great scent and he always tells me how to care for it! Love love LOVE this store.

Was out for a walk on Queen West, and couldn’t resist the gorgeous scents wafting from this cute little shop! Had to go in and try all the perfumes — amazing things that you can’t find just anywhere. Apparently they create custom fragrances as well! Lots of high end products that I’ve only seen in magazines. Will be visiting often to sample everything. Love!

J&S isn’t your average beauty dispensary. The look here is sleek clinical apothacary with a clawfoot tub for a cheeky decorative touch, and of course the main draw is the collection of reputable boutique beauty brands.
The selection is well edited at J&S and features the likes of the prestigious Paul and Joe skincare line, wherein the product descriptions are written in Japanese script so you know they mean business when it comes to facial care. Other lines include the exalted Mario Badescu and a cult perfume line ironically named «CB I Hate Perfumes» and Canadian Organic skincare line Consonant. There is also a good representation of men’s grooming care brands well suited for highly maintained lads.
The owner Joel was indispensable in his knowledge of the efficacy and usage of his products, really polite without ever sounding like a chiding Avon lady or those annoying home shopping network beauty «mavens». Joel even provided vanishing cream samples to my skeptical, yet curious friend.

I only wish they would expand more in the wet shaving avenue, otherwise fantastic pampering products. truly the best.

Not just for the ladies, Joel stalks two of my favourite mens’ lines Malin & Goetz from New York (its unisex actually) & Portland General Store.
His prices are lower than anywhere else in the city for these lines (I use Malin & Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant & its usually $ 3-​$ 5 more everywhere else).
Other picks: Malin & Goetz Bergamot Body Wash, Portland General Store’s Whiskey Cologne and CB I Hate Perfume’s In the Library scent.
