We have been a loyal customer since 2007 referred by family. Our go to for special occasions and have been a vocal supporter to anyone who asks where to go for a good night out. We had a company function there last year with my boosting(over 60 people). Valentine’s evening may have been the wierdest experience yet of my life, our server(Megan by what is on the reciept) kept asking us if we were ready to order constantly, and finally I said that we’d place our order but were in no hurry to eat. I’m talking about she hounded us at least every five minutes after bringing our initial drinks. We wanted to enjoy our Valentines evening and I get that she was trying to turn the table as fast as possible but wow it was unreal! When we ordered our meal I also ordered a second beer and it took a few minutes to get that. I drink a beer in about 15 minutes our dinner was in front of us with out any heads up and I was not nearly finished my beer. We never had any nice relaxing conversation before dinner, called our server over and she denied that we had said put a hold on the order! After some discussion she did offer to take the meals back but like I said… «after» some discussion!!! she never once accepted the fact that I had not been in a hurry to eat! We did not send the meals back and ate a great meal prepared by your staff in the kitchen — she the mixed seafood grill. and I the braised beef ribs — Fabulous !!! Our server came to us and said that dessert was on the house — we thought ok so we ordered dessert and coffee drinks to go with it. The coffee drinks came and were drank and still waiting for the dessert to arrive. The table beside us had their dinner plates cleared and desert placed in front of them all while we sat there with our coffee — they being served by the same server! By this time I’d had enough and refused the dessert and got up to leave. When at the front waiting to pay I said that I as disappointed in the service and really didn’t get eye contact from the person I was talking too. I went out the door and left before I lost it! My wife was left to pay the bill and she was told that we were rude to our server and called our server disengenuous! This is not a word I have ever used nor my wife! I am at home flabbergasted and in awe at what went on. The so called manager on duty didn’t want to hear about our experiance, and Identified herself as a manager after I had gone out the door! She did not want to hear anyhing from us and did not carry herself in a professional managers way. She obviosly knew that there was a problem but did nothing to defuse the situation but chose to escalate it!!! There are a lot of places to eat and you have lost a long time supporter over a managers poor decison.

This would be a five star for me, but the last time I was there the food was excellent but not amazing like on previous visits. Service is great, the menu is very traditional west coast(a good thing!). I normally get there rib eye steak and it is always cooked and seasoned well.

Everything tastes great, but some items are ridiculously priced. My tomato bocconcini salad was $ 10, and smaller than the size of my fist. The peanut butter pie is bigger and costs less!

A fantastic place to have dinner! It was jam packed with people and the atmosphere was electric. The only issue I had was that i went for a steak dinner and I didn’t have enough options to choose from. The menu says that the food takes longer, but it’s worth the wait. They are right… my steak was cooked to perfection! My wife, who normally doesn’t like steak was impressed with how good it tasted and how tender it was. Her meal was also well made. We would definitely go back, and would recommend this place to anyone in town.

Cloverdale’s hidden treasure with a Yaletown vibe. My favourite dish… short rib. Service is always excellent. The live music has been good, too. Good idea to make a reservation.

We tried this place out for the first time last night. Nice atmosphere(pub like).service was great and timely. We all had the beef short ribs and we all agreed… fantastic. Lots of different stuff on the menu and good selection of wine and craft beers. Will have to come here more often.

Went to the Vault Restaurant this evening for a family dinner… 14 of us. Had a great table with ample seating. Great room. Place was busy. Server was efficient and pleasant. Drinks came within a reasonable amount of time… good selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Menu is decent… steak, pasta, seafood, salads. Reasonably priced. Everything was fresh and delicious… everyone was happy and had just enough to eat. Desserts took a while and were just ok. We noticed other tables had bread… was only until half way through our meal when someone said where’s our bread that we were told bread was by request… so we requested bread and it came hot and fresh baked. Only other comment is that the music was very faint… would have created a more lively atmosphere if it was a tad louder. Would definitely go back.

Because the food was so well prepared and fresh, dined there two evenings in a row. I had the salmon and my wife had the flat iron steak with garlic mashed and seasonal veggies. Second night I had halibut and my wife again the flat iron steak. Both nights the food was excellent and fresh. First night serving was little slow, possibly due to a group of 10 or 12. Second night reasonable time. Interesting deco. Dress could be casual but some customers better than casual. Not a large restaurant.

My favourite little lunch spot. I used to go everyday. But with the busy life schedule have not been able to so much but it’s amazing. The seafood platter is to die for.

Love this place! Food is fantastic and service is attentive! Took my mom there for her birthday and they did not dissappoint! Food was amazing… the girl asked if it was a special occasion and I had said it was for my mom’s birthday. When we ordered a dessert… she came out with a candle on it! Totally made my mom’s night! Whenever we want to take someone out to impress for dinner… the vault is my first choice!

The first time I’ve ever had dinner in Cloverdale and it did not disappoint! This menu is chalk full of delectable seafood dishes. I had the seafood hotpot with rice noodles(naturally gluten-free) and it was absolutely divine. It was full of prawns, salmon, mussels and halibut, all simmered in a curry broth with the perfect amount of skinny rice noodles. The wine list was nice and they had a pretty good selection of craft beer. The kids menu had plenty to choose from and everyone was very happy with their dishes. The ambience was pretty cool(it does have a very old vault that you can eat in) and our server was terrific. If I’m ever back in Cloverdale, I will definitely check it out again.

Just had my one and definitely only visit to the Vault Restaurant. Got there at 9:00 pm for a dinner out with my wife. Walked in the door and found the place 2⁄3 full at best. Still waited more than five minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The waitress was slow unless alcohol was ordered, the food was below average at best. I’ve eaten better steaks at Denny’s. The place was really loud. Felt as though we’d walked in on someone else’s party. The washrooms were discussing, they made a dark alley on the downtown east side look clean. Don’t waste your time, just don’t go!

I’ve been here a few times with my family over the last couple of years and the food has always been consistently good. I read a few of the latest reviews about the quality going down, but I personally haven’t experienced this. We nearly didn’t go last week because of these reviews and really happy that we did go. There was six of us and we all enjoyed the dishes we ordered and the service was good also. Will definitely be coming back.

Went to the Vault on New Year’s for 6:00 — we sat in the Tiki Lounge which is off to one side. I don’t think I’d sit in that area again only because it felt quite detached from the action of the restaurant but it was kitchy and cute. We started off with the dry ribs which were very good. Lots of meat on the bones and very tasty. I had a raspberry martini, it was just ok, my fiancé had 7 coconuts and it was awesome! Its 7up, Malibu and maraschino cherries — yup! The building is impressive with its super high ceilings and open wooden beams and brick work. It has a very romantic jazzy feel. Great for large parties of people. My main was lamb chops and my fiancé had braised short ribs. Both came with potato and season veg. My chops were flavorful — the only set back and why I gave only four stars — they were very rare. I had ordered medium rare and the first one, which was smaller was perfect, and the second that was thicker was more rare than I preferred. I only realized how rare once I had got through to the middle so I didn’t complain. I can totally understand how difficult it is to cook them perfectly when the cuts are not uniform and they are crusted with a coating making it even harder to tell how well its cooked. My fiancés short ribs were tender and very good. The table next to us. since we are nosey… ordered the seafood combo which looked amazing .def what we both are interested in trying next time. Dessert was peanut butter pie — OMG — I would go there JUST for that pie. wow. it was ice cold and almost was like having an icecream cake with intense peanut butter — it honestly is the best! We wished we could have enjoyed some live music but we guess that since I was New Years that it must be happening later in the evening for the reservations who may have purchased tickets(?). That’s ok — i’ll be back… for that pie.

What a surprise! Hidden gem in Cloverdale. I was invited to a friends bachelorette party, dinner was at the Vault. At first I was thinking geez Cloverdale for a bachelorette??? But ok I went with it. After driving across the toll bridge(first time paying and not happy). I made it safe and sound to Cloverdale. We had several activities before dinner… drinks, drinks and more drinks, Fraser Downs, drinks and dinner at the Vault. Everything was walking distance which was great. When we entered the restaurant wow I felt like we were not in Cloverdale anymore. This hip cool welcoming décor something you would find in Vancouver but not what I what I was expecting. They sat our large party near the stage, where a cute guitar singer was serenading us. As I observed the room, it was busy but not too busy for a Saturday night. The menu was a little intimidating but according to Unilocalers you couldn’t go wrong with braised short ribs! And am I glad I did, and so did 4 other ladies in our party. I ordered a martini(forgot what it was called) most likely it had pineapple juice. Dinner was fantastic! Short ribs were tender melt in you mouth goodness came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Service and atmosphere was excellent. If you’re in the area highly recommend.
