Group deals are decent Came here for the AYCE hot-pot They have a deal for beer where it is 4 bottles for $ 10(I’m still unclear about the ‘rules’, so it’s better to ask them about it)

Used to be good, terrible now Meat is over cooked Tastes like rubber Very very slow service especially if you order the all you can eat as they like to delay the order to save money

Don’t go at any cost. Got a groupon for this place. It’s such a scam. Terrible food + terrible service. I rather eat microwave pizza at home. Don’t go here… This place is bad even compare to China standards. Should be shut down due to health code also.

So bad… I bought a groupon for their ayce BBQ dinner. It was $ 25/person. 1. The meats were cold. You can tell they prepared these a long time ago. It wasn’t really bbq meats anyways… more like tasteless boiled meat being slightly grilled on the surface 2. They missed a lot of orders. Some of them never came. If you are doing ayce, don’t be cheap on the portion! 3. Since the dishes were cold, during the second round we asked our server to make it hot… Yes this time the dishes were hot, but you can clearly tell they were microwaved… Just imagine bbq meats being reheated by microwave… Gross. 4. Our server(maybe manager?) was very nice though. I appreciate that. But overall I won’t recommend this place… You can have better bbq meats at any food court

Been here couple times. I am between 3 to 4 stars. but no complain because everytime, I come I have a groupon. Before they didn’t have seafood. But I guess it’s hard to do business without seafood. So they offer octopus, shrimp, mussel, oysters and calamari. The meat are fresh. Lots of choices on vegetables. This is not a fancy place so don’t expect it have awesome décor. People come to eat and then go.

Not sure what the hate is about here. This time I was here as part of a Groupon, 2(minor) complaints: 1) The staff are so Chinese, they don’t speak any English. The waitress gave me a blank look when I asked for a spoon. No problem, just need to flip to Mandarin. 2) Some of the food items only showed up after we flagged them down and specifically asked several times. And some items still didn’t show up, like our skewers. We didn’t notice until after we had left though. Oh well. With that said, the selection and freshness were there. They don’t hold back on the food — it was served in piles. I was definitely a happy customer again.

It was so terrible!!! Can’t be worse!!! The temperature outside was –7C, and inside it was like 10! I asked them to turn on the heat. One of the waitress said«it had already be on, if you feel cold then dress more, just like what I did!» WTF, I paid not for catching a cold! What’s more! We had waited for ONEHOUR for our food!!! Even NO one came to refill our drinks… We asked many times that how long we were supposed to be waiting for. Every time they answered«soon»… If it means an HOUR, I would never come here! Don’t come here!

I came here for the AYCE hotpot and don’t have any complaints! Food was brought out in a timely manner, with good selection and portions. The broth was decent, and it was everything you can expect from a hotpot place on Alexandra(except with way better parking). As we were eating, we noticed the table behind us had some exciting BBQ dishes. We chatted about it and low and behold the restaurant manager brought us a few skewers to try. The chicken skewers were amazing. I would definitely come back to try some of their other menu items. My suggestions: if you don’t know how to concoct your own sauce the house mix sauce is delicious! It made the experience that much better.

I tried hot pot for my first time at Claypot and I swore off hot pot forever. My friend convinced me to give it another shot so we came here to try it out. It was delicious! It has definitely turned me around. The service was good, no complaints really. They filled our teas, suggested items for us to try and showed us how to make it. We got the satay broth, and I just added a bit of salt which made it yummy. The key was the garlicy dipping sauce which was SOGOOD I could just eat it alone. It really made the experience worth while. We got pretty much everything, even spam, which is not my jam lol. Some of the menu translations are pretty hilarious, but expected. The tea could be better and it was served in a glass which was hard to drink from when it’s hot. I would definitely recommend the appetizer side dishes like the bean sprouts and the mushroom one. Other than that, I have to say it was a fun interactive experience and I’ll definitely be open to having hot pot again!

It’s all you can eat, and the food wasn’t amazing, but the portions were generous(in that they were not skimpy in giving you more food) and the service was great(but that’s maybe because we were talking to the owner on a Thursday night and it was a slow night?). They do charge separately for broth and sauce, but they were super good at refilling broth(for free) and there was way more sauce than we could consume(we ordered one sauce per person) so it was still pretty economical. Definitely a fan.

Overall after tasting Landmark I guess any AYCE would not be as great quality. Service was good, we found everyone pretty responsive so that was great! The quality of food is not the best, however I guess that is what you are to expect at an AYCE. Yea some of the lettuce was wilted, and honestly the chicken made me nervous so I didn’t eat it, but for the most part it was ok the fish balls, tofu, beef, etc Quiet restaurant wasn’t too super loud which was great, and easy to find parking in the parking lot! Price between 6 people and 2 broths average $ 30 a person It was alright, but I don’t think I would put this place on the list of my hot pot choices!

Why the hate? I came here pretty jaded due to the super negative reviews for this place. But honestly, it’s not that bad. Yes, they do forget food you’ve ordered, but what AYCE place doesn’t? The difference is that when you ask about the forgotten food, they give it to you immediately and in the right quantity. Oysters were fresh. Beef was alright. The selection isn’t the best and the ingredients are not the freshest, but which AYCE hot pot is on Alexandra Road? The service isn’t quick, but if you give a little effort, by waving your hands when your waitress is looking your way, they do respond. I’ve been to Claypot Hot Pot where even when the servers see you waving, they ignore you. Now, THAT’S bad service. So why the hate? It’s an average hot pot resto for below average price. I’ll come back again if I want AYCE hot pot for under $ 18 bucks.

Bought social shopper coupon here. Looked at their facebook beforehand and menu looked decent. Mixed reviews but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Hands down WORST restaurant I have ever been to in my life and I have been to a lot all over. Service was utter shit. Girls can’t speak english and instead respond to you in chinese. They give you smirks and bitch faces when you asked them something. On top of that they are unsanitary. I saw the girl pick the veggies with her hands without washing them. The menu is shit, the food taste soooooo gross. Like you have no idea how bad it was. I ended up only ordering lots of beef and chicken and then bounced without tipping cause it was so bad. This place should be closed, and I never say that.

I’ll rate the restaurant zero star without hesitance if theres the option. Terrible experience. Everything was horrible. The food(so-called barbecue) was disgusting, I pretty much had no idea what I was eating most of the time. And I’m sure they’re incredibly unhealthy. I really regret picking the place for dinner. The waitresses were rude. We were waiting for foods pretty much more than half of the entire dinner time. Definitely will not go back.

I like this place. Been here twice for AYCE. — I enjoy the selection of food. — the service is good. They are always attentive and helping us out. — prices reasonable. Just the same as other places. $ 17.95/person. Haven’t had a bad experience. Other tables ordered some interesting dishes so it’d be interesting to try other items.

Lots of choices, isn’t all that good in terms of quality and freshness which I expect when eating AYCE. They do have veggies and meat items for everyone. I like veggies when eating hotpot so I loaded up on the veggies(which weren’t properly cleaned) and had a few fishballs which were pretty meh. My co-eater decided to get lots of meats, although apparently it wasn’t very good. We opted for the spicier soup option, which was a good choice since the items are obviously bland and a bland soup would just be bland overkill. I’m not much of an AYCE person so I definitely did NOT get my food’s worth of money. But the food was cheap so I’m not complaining. Ambiance is Asian-diner like, it’s old and a bit worn down. It’s ok though. Not overly dirty like the majority of neighboring restaurants. The washrooms were a nightmare though.

Restaurant was large but quite empty for lunch time. Hot pot items could be ordered a la carte, or from their table display(which was very convenient but I probably wouldn’t want to eat later in the day as the food would have been sitting out all day — note: everything was frozen). They also had DIY bbq and a la carte menu items. Everything was priced differently and although there weren’t many people there — is seemed like everyone was dining a little differently. Service was almost non existent. They didn’t go out of their way to help and I had to flag someone down many times. Our orders were rarely served accurately, ex. we ordered the max number of oysters(8, 2/person) and we only got 2 — it was like that for the other items as well. Standard hot pot prices. Occasional special all you can eat specials(only $ 8/person during Chinese New Year — great deal but English patrons might miss out as promotion was in Chinese only). Limited service = very causal Not so busy restaurant with lots of space = lots of room to bring your friends and family Get your own hot pot items = no crazy-eye look from the server if you like to eat a lot

Beijing hot pot is very theatrical and definitely one of the kind hot pot experience I have ever had. With the flame shotting from the center, we were in awe. We did AYCE hot pot. The order menu card is very self-explanatory. The seafood/meat/veggies were fresh and the staff was attentive. Hot pot was top up with soup stock constantly. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. A place for friend/family meal gathering.

Probably my first review on a hot pot, and this is probably why: once you’ve done it, i’m satisfied and move on. guess just not a hardcore hot pot. so ordered the usual fishballs, veggies, beef, pork… nevertheless, i had a good time w/friends who knew what they were doing, for once, i really do feel like a tourist. hot pot AYCE $ 17.95, or extra $ 6 you get BBQ too. nice booth seatings, and plenty of designated parking for their resto. definitely a good casual place, and good service since it wasn’t busy. haha

When you come in, look to the wall on your left. There should be a billion post-it notes with messages for loved ones, looking for loved ones, looking for a quickie! and so on. When you get a table, you’ll notice they offer two types of food. Korean or was it Beijing style barbeque and Chinese hot pot. I’ve only had the hot pot here and it is the AYCE fare. Decently average considering the competition in Richmond. The waitresses and staff here seem to be Mainland as well as many of the customers who dine here. The ingredients seem fresh enough and the service is reasonable. Don’t expect terrific service, but if you ask for something, you’ll get it. Would I come again? Yeah, After reading Jennifer Y’s review, I kinda had a chuckle. Yes, it is typical of the service you can get here now and then, but you just have to expect it from this type of establishment. And she may have come on the waitresses«off» day. All I know, is that if «MY» Jennifer Y had that service, she would have snapped right back in her Chongqing Mandarin that would command obedience and servility! Fortunately we haven’t had to encounter that. :). Good thing for me, they have black fungus and we got what we ordered. There was also a special on Chinese beer that night too. Bonus. Just in case, bring cash.
