Came here for breakfast recently. Hard to complain about a full breakfast for $ 5. However, I ordered the veggie Benny with the strangest tasting hollandaise sauce. It was foamy and tasteless. The place was deader than a funeral home and is usually a tell tell sign for me. Won’t be rushing back to this place any time soon…

Came here with my wife and daughter recently on a Friday evening when I was late leaving work. Thought $ 13.95 was a little steep for fish and chips, but the haddock was so good it was actually worth every penny. We stayed until the band played a couple songs, so it turned into a family outing instead of just a meal. The décor and service leave something to be desired, I must admit.

I would have never come to a place like this on my own but one of my cousin-in-law set up a family dinner here for 30 with a buffet. Where to start? When talking to the owner, we were supposed to have the whole place to ourselves for this private party. However, a party of four came in and when we tried to tell them that a private party was being held they had said they made reservations. Yes, the owner said we would have the place to ourselves but accepted reservations to this other table which included a granny that gave the death stare to us all night for no good reason. At that time all 30 of us should have just left the place and gone next door. Dinner was to begin at 6:30PM. It would have helped if they had a server. Since there was no server, a couple people from our party were getting glasses and pouring our water for us. Really? We were at a restaurant and had to get our own drinks because there was no server. Finally, the server showed up half way through dinner at 7:30. Slow clap. There was nothing special about the food here. The buffet menu was predetermined ahead of time and included caesar salad, smoked salmon, seafood lasagna, parmesan chicken, rice, mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. For dessert was apple crumble with chocolate and ice cream. Wait, I thought this was a maritime themed restaurant? The only thing that had a hint of maritime was the seafood lasagna which included some bits of lobster. It was probably the best thing there. In fact, there were no steamed vegetables except for a few chopped vegetables in the rice which was more like a Chinese style fried rice. Now that I think about it, there was no chocolate in the dessert either. We were under the impression that there would be live music but it was just the regular open mic which started at about 8PM so we were pretty much done our meals. All in all this would have been a two star review but the service really sucked on top of the mediocre food.

This place is fun! The 4 star rating is for the fun, the live entertainment, the taste of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and the Atlantic Coast. I had some friends call me on a Thursday night, saying«Get Down Here!» There was a couple of fantastic old timers singing, playing guitar, doing old Stones, Beatles, Neil Young — and we had the place virtually to ourselves! They need more business to keep doing this, but it is a MUSTSEE pub style, fun, unusual evening out — very cool! They do a Newfoundland evening, and I’ve seen the pictures of big groups being screeched in, kissing the cod, dancing and drinking — I want to be there for the next one! They also do theme evenings, they had a murder mystery planned when I was there last — missed it, but there will be more, Im sure! It IS a funny place, where the owner will talk to you, chat with you, become a part of your evening — if you want some stuffy downtown restaurant, this isn’t it — but you KNEW that, when you read the word ATLANTIC in the name! Kick back, have some drinks, and have a kitchen party — Im coming back, and so will you!

Nothing special here. An Asian owned restaurant trying to be western really doesn’t work at all. There will always be a light of Chinese style in there… Anyways I had their grilled combo there and it really did no justice. The fish was all soggy and oily, and had barely any taste on it. I believe it was cod? The salad they placed was Costco coleslaw, totally not appealing at all, and the fries were just McCaine fries from Superstore, oh wait, I meant No Name Brand… It was not a good place for lunch after all.

Why is this place sooooooo expensive? Why why why? It is a diner and not a real great one, but they charge more than the Boathouse. I can’t believe they are still open. The food is okay, service was friendly, but they need a reality check, if they can’t afford lobster — why is it on the menu? I know it’s a newphie theme — but come on — it costs less to fly a lobster in myself(it would be fresher too) Very sad indeed

Located on Port Moodys downtown«strip,» Joe’s Atlantic Grill is marked with a swirling lighthouse beacon that’s left on from early in the morning until pretty well late at night. The interior is nicely designed, with window and bar booths given priority. I used to have breakfast here all the time when I was living in Port Moody, with friends from Coquitlam who would come all the way there for their omelets. The tables were almost entirely empty Sunday morning a year ago, so I’m guessing this place never caught on as a good breakfast destination. Yet the prices are all pretty reasonable and the service is good, with exception to their cup of coffee(which is small, and around $ 2 without a refill!) They also host a weekly open mic every Friday night that can run the gambit between acoustic folk and bizarre eclectic rock from the kids who go to high school up the street. Apparently they don’t like people playing if they’re not buying anything though. It’s sort of lame that they want their entertainment to be their customers, but it makes sense why they’d prefer that business model.
