Colonnade Pizza

Colonade Merivale, my favorite pizza restaurant from now on, great wings, amazing pizza, best in ottawa and cool refreshing stella artois. All that with the excellent service… Loved it!

Excellent food, excellent service!!! Accommodating to our child and fast friendly service

In a last minute decision because the restaurant next door was full, we went here for my daughter’s 17^th birthday lunch on November 150^th.
The pizzas were incredible, and the service was top notch. Had a lovely chat with who I think was the owner, and she was friendly and a delight to talk to. We felt very welcome there and will definitely return.

Horrible service and a bad experience from the beginning. As I walked in, I notified the hostess/​server that it would be 4 people in our party. She rolled her eyes, shook her head, and said we pick where to sit. After my friends and I sat down, she gave us the menus and then walked away. She came back 10 minutes and then took our order because she felt she had to tell us the kitchen was about to close. My friends also saw how rude she was and could tell from her body language that she hated life and her job. When the pizza arrived, it was okay, but nothing spectacular. Not one smile the whole evening from the server made this experience even worse. There are better places elsewhere in Ottawa and I do not plan to go to any of the locations EVER again. You pay for a meal with your hard-​earned money, you expect some form or respect or level of service. What a disappointment…

It seems like many of the Ottawa pizza places have gone to a cheaper version of mozzarella cheese similar to what Gabriel’s is using. And such is the case with Colonnade. It’s oily in texture and consistency is not the same as the real thing.
We prefer KS who uses brick cheese.

Delicious pizza. Although as noted by others that it’s a bit pricey, it’s not an issue for these delicious pizzas!

We were doing renovations at home, so we decided to treat ourselves out for pizza. I would never have chosen to go to Colonnade’s, but we ended up there, and it was surprisingly busy at 7:30, on a rainy Wednesday evening. There were at least a handful of people there, and one large party.
Service: Our party was seated ASAP. Our waitress was Zuzan, and she was fantastic! She was really quick at getting our order into the kitchen. She checked up on us shortly after bringing us our pizza, and filled up our water without asking. She even served us all a slice of pizza!!! Bonus points!
Food: We ordered the large 15″ inch” veggie pizza, which were 8 large slices of crispy, yet gooey cheese. The crust was fantastic, and flavorful. You can definitely tell the difference with this pizza, compared to others in town. The crust was thick and crispy, with a little cheese that crisped on there, if ya know what I mean. ;)
They did not skimp out on the cheese, and it did not taste like cardboard. I enjoyed how they had chili flakes and parmesan at the table.
Price: For 29.00 for a pizza, with 4 ice waters, it was well worth it.
I would definitely go back. The restaurant was inviting, the food was tasty, and the service was great.

My wife and I have been a-​hunting all over Ottawa for the best pizza joint in town. I spotted Colonnade Pizza one day while shopping along Merivale. I spotted it in a small strip plaza and went inside. Whoa — what a surprise. Colonnade is far from your local pizza joint. It is a beautifully appointed gourmet restaurant. Looking for a slice and a pop? Go elsewhere! Their toppings selection is a cut above Pizza Pizza, but not as gourmet as I hoped — they do have banana peppers, peta, shrimp and chicken. But, no broccoli, sundried tomatoes, or artichoke. None the less, they are a delight to behold. And, the prices aren’t that spendy — a large for $ 20, not unlike other average joints I have tried. They also offer a host of yummy apps, such ast zucchini sticks, fries, bruschetta, and french onion soup. If you are looking for a pizza that is a slice above the rest, try Colonnade.
