This place is fantastic. My now hubby and I hosted 2 blissful pre-wedding days based out of the Boscawen Inn. Let me tell you, planning an international vacation for about 60 people is not easy. Judy, the owner at the Boscawen, made the process so much better. She was so stellar. Gave us amazing recommendations for other local vendors, like kayaking, tours, food, catering, etc. And they were all perfect! Judy and John, her husband, were the most gracious hosts. Basically, anything we needed, they provided without hesitation. Judy and I even planned a surprise event for everyone and it went off without a hitch! Now onto the lodging, my hubby and I stayed in room 305 and it was everything we could ever want! For all of the rooms, which I got to take a gander at because we had rented out the entire place, they were so precious. The website truly does not do the Boscawen Inn justice. Everything is immaculate, clean, and every detail was perfection. Honestly, I can’t wait until we get to go back. Thank you Judy and John!!!

This place is precious and we definitely plan to return. Charming old inn with gorgeous views of Lunenberg harbor. The handmade soaps, lavender body wash and shampoo are a special treat. Extra care went into making the old rooms cozy and comfortable — ours was in the garret, and included the top of the turret, and we will ask for it again. We appreciated it’s age and low-key old home charm. Super comfy king sized bed with eaves and dormers on the other side of the room. Décor is complemented by neat old ship prints, with books lining the halls along with the interesting old wallpaper. Breakfast was really great — served downstairs in what was a fun surprise to find — an old world bar and lounge. Shiny silver serving dishes on the buffet kept our poached eggs and bacon warm and our fruit salad cool. Puts the so-called continental breakfast of other b&bs to shame. Big picture windows lit our table as we made the day’s plans. There are quite a number of stairs at the Boscawen, depending on the location of your room, so if that’s an issue for you, be sure to tell them. Innkeepers have been there for a year and seem to be enjoying every minute of their new vocation. We wish we could have stayed much longer, and hope these lovely folks never give up the Boscawen.
