History

Established in 2004.

This historic home was built in 1905 for W.C. Smith, first president of W.C. Smith Fish Processing Co, a company that has evolved into today’s Hi Liner Foods! The home became Commander’s Inn B&B in 1992, was purchased by the present owners in 2001, then renamed Atlantic Sojourn in 2005. It has been redecorated throughout, and extensive gardens and a pond have been added. The business is in the midst of a «Going Green» campaign, with the owners diligently attempting to reduce their and their guests’ carbon footprint.

Meet the Business Owner

Sebelle and Susan X.

Business Owner

The present owners retired from Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA and immigrated to Canada in 2003. Susan was a librarian, and Sebelle was a professor. After many travels that included B&B accommodations, they decided that a B&B would suit them in retirement, and they began looking for a business to purchase. Luckily for them, they literally overheard a conversation of the former owner who was ready to sell! After eight seasons and thousands of guests, it’s still a wonderful retirement business.
