Hutches is way too pricey. A kiddie cone is $ 3.25! You can get kiddie cones up the street for only 1.45 at the Sugar Shack on McNab St. Also there is a high turn over of young workers who get take advantage of and don’t get their breaks most of the time. I personally don’t care to give my business to people who break labours laws and charge an arm and a leg for kiddie cones.

Great fries, burgers, fish & chips, ice cream. Every bit as good as the original Hutch’s. Nice location at Bayfront Park, small seating area inside and a deck area in the summer. Always good eats.

Unilocal seems to have two competing names for this location. I’m going with Hutch’s Harbour Front as several other yellow page and food page sites on google list this name for the 325 Bay Street N location. It also prevents confusion with the Hutch’s Dingley Dell location found on the East side of Hamilton. The location itself merely identifies itself with Hutch’s on the sign. Okay, preamble over. This is a fish n chips and ice cream spot just up the road from the delightful Pier 4 park. There’s an outside ice cream shack and an inside seating area for those who want to dine on fish ‘n’ chips. Ms Brooks Brothers, her daughter Sparkle Boots, and I stopped in for some ice cream after a day running around the Pier 4 park. Lots of interesting ice cream flavors to be had. The whip cream topping is excellent. There are many picnic tables out on the deck and some along the parking lot. There’s a good amount of parking, although I imagine during the summer months this place is at over flow. The staff working the ice cream shack seem a bit ill prepared but then they all seem to be 16 year olds and not yet finely tuned cogs of the corporate service industry. The fish ‘n’ chips meals looked huge and inviting. We’ll certainly be back.
