Zero stars because this is our second attempt to eat here. First time we were told that the patio was full and they were no longer«seating» inside. It was 6:00pm on a Saturday. Today we waited 10 minutes to be seated(I don’t know why). One of our party went to the very back of the restaurant to get the owner. He stated that they were short staffed because 4 people called in sick!!! Really? That says something is wrong. Once seated we waited another 5 minutes and still no one to take a drink order. When we saw them taking orders for people seated after us we decided that we should take the warning. If the service is this bad, I fear for what comes out of the kitchen!

Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. We paid $ 17 for a Delissio pizza that was burnt. My girlfriend ordered a Caesar wrap that tasted disgusting, and I’m not sure what it was they were claiming were French fries. But it wasn’t made from a potato. On top of all this, the music was so loud you can’t carry a conversation and the staff spent most of their time walking around with a rabbit. Last time I checked that’s not sanitary what so ever.

We went to Coco’s Bar and asked for a table. The person at the door could clearly see we had children and told us it would be roughly 20 – 30 minutes. We were okay with that, after all it was raining so we weren’t really going to walk around. After 30 minutes passed, the doorman came out and said that they were only seating parties of 6 or less as there was a birthday party coming. We said«no problem, just split us up in to 2 tables» and the reply was«Sorry I can’t do that». We then asked to speak to the manager but the manager refused to come out. We finally figured out that they were not seating us because we had children with us. We asked to speak to the manager again and the response was the same. The conversation got a little heated,(after all they were discriminating against our children) and the doorman just locked the door and stayed inside. A few minutes later a waitress came outside with an A-frame chalkboard that said«Only serving 19+». I assumed this was on our account. We were then informed by the doorman that we were now trespassing and should«get the hell off the property».

Food was good. Service was nonexistent. Staff were on their cellphones and brought outside drinks and drinking it while walking thru patio. Interior design is creative but servers need to be there for customers.

So overall, our experience with the restaurant so one of the poorest we have ever been to. I blame the management more than the server. I can live with the old look décor but it seems like they depend on very large freezers for their food. Beer batter fish is nothing but frozen fish even though Grand Bend is right on a great lake. The burger was, well, you guessed it, it was a frozen burger. As for the server, to put it nicely, she makes a fantastic beer runner. There was never a food check and she gave us an empty ketchup container. Please make your choice wisely with this restaurant.

ahh Coco’s. You were the hottest place to be when The Bend was at it hottest. Sadly since things in Grand Bend have died down, so has Coco’s. This used to be THE place. It was at its peak when it was decorated, and it shows. Now it looks run down. This place was always packed, and looked like a club you’d see on Jersey Shore, packed with hot 20-somethings dancing and drinking. The food is horrible, and everything is over-priced. It is ok for things to come to an end, I think Coco’s is at it’s end. It could be revived into something amazing again if given the chance!

This restaurant has an open-door California style interior, maybe because of that, so many flies were trying to land on our food. :S –Interior: could be improved; it looked like their furniture could be from 1987 when they first opened. Their washroom seemed to be in need of renovation as well. –Food: ordered a blue cheese burger and chicken fingers. Their fries were awesome, crispy and salty. The burger and chicken fingers were so-so. The burger had lettuce, tomato, a little burnt slice of beef patty and a slice of blue cheese. –Service: we had pretty standard service but I noticed a couple leaving without ordering maybe because of the wait?

Walking up and down«the strip» it can sometimes be hard to choose a place where you want to eat, not because of the lack of choices, but simply because there is just so much to choose from! So this recent trip to the bend we decided to eat at Coco’s bar & grill /hotel. We walked up and were greeted at the door with the choice of patio seating or inside, we chose to sit out on the patio this time and watch everyone go by. The big sign out front said best burgs in the bend, but I don’t know who’s making that one up? Or who votes on the best burger, lol. Because I tried a Tijuana burger and it was probably one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had, the hamburger itself tasted like it was frozen from a box and thrown on a flat top, the bun was also out of a bag from the grocery store down the road, the only plus was the giant pickle slice, oh and the fries were really good as well I thought, but they didn’t even have gravy?! The girlfriend ordered the fish n’ chips, although they give you two pretty big pieces, it also tastes like it was from a box in the freezer and not freshly battered fish. Also the service was terrible and the food was outragously overpriced! Our server barley ever came around and it looked the other girl working was just walking around aimlessly, also I heard the doorman seat a couple and say«I’ll get a waitress for you right away» only to walk right back to the front door and do more nothing. Terrible food, terrible service, I definatly won’t return here when I’m in grand bend, J Dee’s burgers are actually homemade and soooo much better!

This was our first and last time at Coco’s, I’m afraid. My husband and I just dined here today for lunch, and could not have been more annoyed and uncomfortable by the place. First, we are both vegetarians. We scanned the menu for possibly options before deciding on eating here — on the menu was a roasted veggie wrap and a veggie burger. Sounded good, so we decided to head on in for a bite to eat. We were about to step through the door when we were greeted a little bit rudely by a tall, young man who had clearly had trouble with people all day(it was extremely packed at Grand Bend today!). Instead of greeting us with a smile and escorting us to a table, he stared us down and said, «Hi. What can I do for you guys?» and blocked the entrance as though we weren’t supposed to be there. We both looked at each other confused, and my husband requested a table for 2 people. Kind of odd, asking people what they want when they approach your restaurant. Obviously they want to eat there. Anyway, we were given a choice of two places to sit, and I unfortunately picked the lounge-like chairs right next to the stereo. There were no windows or walls, so you could walk right down to the sidewalk from the restaurant if you wanted, and vice versa. Apparently this was a huge problem, because as we were about to sit down at our seats, a pack of 20-something year old guys came up and attempted to snag out seats. One of them had a cigarette. The host(he seemed more like a manager to me, because he was delegating responsibility) rudely shooed them away going, «No guys, no, there’s a hostess over there. And DON’T SMOKEHERE. No smoking at the restaurant. THROWITAWAY.» My goodness. I mean, I can understand not wanting people to smoke in your restaurant, but it was insanely unprofessional to yell at someone like that! Once we sat down, I knew immediately that I wanted to move. It was kind of miserable, sitting down right next to the stereo that was blasting out music so loud I couldn’t even lip read. So we asked a waitress if we could move. We did so, and when we did it took about 10 minutes until a waitress finally came over to take our drinks. She wasn’t very friendly. She came over and asked, «Did anyone take care of you yet?» I asked for some water, she told me, «Oh we don’t have tap. You’ll have to get a bottle of water, it’s $ 1.50.» Seriously I wish I would have just listened to my gut and left after she said that they were charging for water. My husband had orange juice, which was mostly ice, and it was $ 3. I then scanned the menu again once we had a moment, and noticed that none of the burgers came with fries, you’d need to buy them for $ 2.50. Yep. It’s one of those nickel-and-dime ya places. The waitress comes back, my husband requests the veggie burger. She goes, «Oh, we um, don’t actually have veggie burgers.» The way she said this made it seem like my husband was crazy for even asking, and that they NEVER had veggie burgers even though it was clearly on the menu. Agitated, we both ordered roasted veggie wraps. He ordered some fries along with them, and I got deep fried dill pickles. The actual food wasn’t bad. The wraps were okay, nothing special. I’ve had better. The fried pickles were also just okay, but pretty expensive for only four pickles($ 5 or so, if I remember correctly). As we sat and ate I thought to myself«Gee, I wonder if they’ll charge us just for sitting here.» How ironic, because when my husband got up to go pay at the bar, they charged $ 7 for the food on top of the actual prices for the food. So we had to pay $ 1.50 for water, $ 2.50 for a small serving of fries for his wrap, two wraps, and the pickles and it ended up being $ 40 at the end of it. The place had attitude, was extremely loud and very expensive for average food. We don’t be back. Ever. There are better places to grab some food that won’t give you attitude for wanting to eat there, such as the Growling Gator, where we’ll go next time.
