If shopping for a special occasion The Bay is the place to be. They have everything! Great sales and great choices on top of that they have great return and price match policy. The store is a little disorganize but and mostly cater to women. You can’t avoid walking into perfume and cologne valley and be bombarded by samples, but sometimes they really do have great deals. Customer service is top notch but with an awesome sale, their stock often runs low. However, they can order online and get it shipped for free. Bonus! I would recommend the bay for many items like clothing, jewelry, accessories and shoes, but never for electronics. But I will reiterate that this store is the place to be for special occasions, they will have that item.

WOW… I like this store. The lower floor is mostly men. The entrance is across Abercrombie & Fitch and you into the perfume and makeup section, on the right the shoes section starts for ladies. They had a good selection of men perfume but beware there are quite a few people trying to sell you they perfume they hold in their hand.lol. Then I headed down to the men section and lot of collection and designer brands available. The pricing is a little high as Bay has truly changed itself from being like sears to evolving into high-end stuff. One thing I notice was they had enough employees to help and keep the store I a great shape compared to the one in Square one. I would definitely go again. Oh a quick not the topman/topshop connects right with The Bay.

This is THE worst HBC location of all the HBC locations. Staff are slow and neglectful. Getting assistance is painful. And don’t even THINK about calling here. No one answers, and when they do, they inadvertently hang up. Gift Registry people are okay, and are your best bet for some level of care. Avoid the watch counter at all costs. Poorly run(they never know who is next in line for service, and they don’t care that they don’t know). Selection of products is decent, but it’s not worth the hassle. Go to the Downtown location if you can, or any other. Rumour has it that this location is unionized, and so the staffing is handled differently than all other locations.

I wish this«the Bay» was better today because I acknowledge that it’s a Canadian institution, but my experience was terrible and it just made it’s way onto my banned list. I was returning a mixer(painless… the return was quick and easy). Then I headed over to white goods to looks at Dysons… The commission salesman cross-sold me to a different vacuum brand. I went away for a few minutes and read some reviews and decided to buy it if he would price match which had it for $ 130(yes, over a HUNDRED dollars) less. He said he would call his manager and ask. Then at the computer he was interrupted by two hundred year old ladies who he proceeded to serve for over THIRTY minutes. FINALLY he got around to finishing our transaction and basically said«no, I won’t price match this.» It would be nice if you had gone ahead and told me that before I stood around in my hot ass winter coat for a half hour while you chatted about tea and crumpets and I drowned in my own sweat. [bad experience] So… guess what. Everyone who shops here is over 70, and they are all going to die in the next 15 years. There will be no one left to pay your exorbitant prices and if you don’t start price matching everyone will just start buying their white goods at futureshop or canadian tire where the service is… existant? I gave this giftcard to my sister and enjoyed the other present my mom gave me, … the bay… you can’t trade fur pelts in 2013 and make a living!

I usually don’t like department stores but in the past 2 years, The Bay converted me over as a fan. With a decent selection of clothes(BCBG and Max Mara) available here and great selection of household brands(Denby, LeCreseut, Henckels), I usually find something here to buy on a weekly basis. This store is really big and is in spotless condition. It’s well laid out and it’s easy to find everything. Even if you have trouble, an associate can be found easily and they’re always ready to help. I also made a few returns and I honestly mean it when I say it’s hassle free. It’s a 4 minute transaction and I’m done. I also never wait in line here… Ever! Unlike Yorkdale where I’ve wondered if I’ll get out in 10 minutes, the cash areas isn’t lumped together in a bottleneck. I like Canadian Brands in general but I love them when they’re actually great. This Bay store is that good and deserves 4 stars!

((this review is only for the Clinque Counter)) The last time I bought Clinque was when I was in high school and just for the gift with purchase, which is still pretty cool. only a $ 25 purchase(usually just one item) The girl there(blonde, ponytail, sorry I forgot your name!) was super friendly and patient and a good sales lady. Not pushy, but helped me decide. I came there to buy a toner and mascara, but walked out with much more. She also gave me 2 Gifts(I guess, since I spent at least 4 times the minimum amount) and tons of gifts that I don’t need to go back until the stuff I bought runs out.
