If you’re craving phở in while in the southside, I would advise skipping this place as my fiancé and I learned the hard way. The broth that accompanied our phở orders was not very good. Lacked depth and flavor. We also ordered some spring rolls to share which also did not have much flavor and were quite small in size. Service was as you would expect from any phở establishment. At one point they cracked open the front doors to let in some air but it got unbearably cold to the point where I had to cover my legs with my jacket.

they serve the phở in a large bowl, but there isn’t much food in it I ordered their lemongrass chicken on rice after I finished my phở, but they served me vermicelli. whatever, simple mistake, after they remade it for me, I was stunned. was this plate of food supposed to serve an actual human being… or an ant? there was so little food on the plate I wouldn’t have paid even 6 bucks for it(it costs 10+). it tasted really bad also!

Close to my office so I decided to check it out. I was bound to come in here sooner or later as my workplace is really close. I was craving some view vermicelli so I stopped in I ordered the salad rolls and 3 color vermicelli. Spring rolls, pork, and pork meatballs. The noodles could have been better, they were a bit overcooked that they were breaking within 5 mins. Portion was decent. The marinade I thought they used a little too much sugar along with the fish sauce. Service was pretty dismal too. Not the best for a first encounter.

Our experience was pretty weird. We came in and asked if they served bubble tea. When we sat ourselves down, we asked for an outlet to charge our devices. We were informed that only customers who bought food were able to use the electrical outlets. Okay! We ordered. Then we were informed where the outlet was… it was the outlet that powered their OPEN sign. It was literally two inches from the ceiling. Two tables of customers who came in a long time before us were served first. Really left a bad taste in my mouth. Customers shouldn’t be treated so differently just because they asked if the place served bubble tea.

Let’s face it, some places become our favourites simply because of proximity right? Close to work, close to home, close to the boyfriend’s house, whatever. Well despite how close this phở joint is to my workplace I had never been inside it, which is a shame because it is really good. My first thought was how TINY it was when we walked in, tiny and empty at 6:30 pm. Within 10 minutes of being seated and ordering, though, the place was almost completely full(and it holds more people than first glance would have you believe). Service was prompt and food quality was great. I had the pork salad rolls and they were awesome, not too gummy like rice paper rolls can sometimes be. Their green onion cake was puffy and crispy and absolutely perfect and my companions vermicelli bowls were absolutely enormous. The bang for your buck here is pretty big. I will definitely be going back soon, next time to try the phở. If it is as good as everything else that was sampled that night I know I won’t be disappointed.

So I had a bad phở craving so I checked out what phở place was near my area. So I decide to check out this one. The restaurant wasn’t as decorated as most are. Which I’m ok with. It was small place but not the smallest I’ve seen so far. I liked that the place was very quite. For me the soups broth was the best I’ve ever had by far. I couldn’t get enough. I like how the waitress ask me if I wanted a fork when I first ordered. Which really surprised me. I didn’t need one but I know many people who can’t use chopsticks. I do wish the waitress asked how my meal was. Even though it loved it. I wanted her to ask so that I could tell her how much I liked it. The prices are a little cheaper compared to most phở places. So that’s great for me. I can’t wait to come back and bring my girlfriend.

We were looking for a phở place in the south side of Edmonton and Phở Anh was the only one that came up. I’ve been to the St. Albert location which was pretty decent so we decided to check it out on a Friday evening. There were only a couple other diners. Place is right beside the library and a Thai restaurant. The place itself is pretty bare even by asian standards. Foodwise, we each had a dish: — Beef phở($ 9) — my friend found the dish to be a bit on the salty side. I didn’t really taste it so I can’t comment. — 3 colours vermicilli bowl($ 12) — this came with three types of meat, all of them pork. It was good but pretty ordinary. It could have used a bit more flavour/kick to it so I added my own sauces provided at the table. Anyways, it’s a decent spot if your looking for phở/Vietnamese on the south side. 3.5 stars would seem about right.

I’ve been loving this place and been coming here once I crave for some Phở. But tonight was an exception. I ordered one of those Vietnamese spring rolls(the ones that are not cooked) with shrimp and after almost finishing the 2 rolls, I was swirling something in my mouth that’s sharp… THEREWAS A THICKLONGNAIL in my spring rolls!!! To my disgust I spat it out on the bowl then hand it to one of the servers then ran to the restroom to throw up… I threw up all my food… it was SOOONASTY! Oh men, I never wanted to come back to this place ever again, makes me question how clean my food is now… GOODGRIEF! They offered not to charge me, I refused because I knew it was business. So they charged me half, but after paying it I was like, «I thought it was half of the bill» BUTNO! ONLYHALFTHEACTUALSPRINGROLLDISH. WFT!!! GREAT, just great… here I am coming home pissed and hungry! SHEDIDN’T EVENMADEITCLEARTHATITWASONLYHALFOFTHEDISH… OHMEN… SUCKSLIKEHECKRIGHTNOW!!! HATETHISPLACE… DONTCOMEHEREANYMORE!

I have to say after a serious craving for some soul warming Phở and our usual place being a bit out of the way we decided to try this little place out. After waiting for a small moment our server came and was pleasant. We ordered tea and water. The tea came the water never did. A few things stand out. One being tat most of the people we saw eating were having vermicelli bowls not Phở. Second of all is the reason for the fist comment ;) The Phở I had was I think the 21 Steak. My other half had the chicken version. I have had Phở all over the city and this was unfortunately the most tasteless I have experienced. This applied to both dishes as well. I am always for second chances so did not give a one star. However server never checked to see if meal was good, but was kind in placing it to go for the pets. They were pleasant people and the place is a tad small but no biggie and was quite clean. Over all I think there are better and some may think I was being picky having gotten used to a usual place. But we go to many others and this is the lowest we would rate. Again could have been an off batch so will try again at some point but may try a vermicelli bowl instead lol!

Wonderful little place — only a few tables — but not very busy. At least not on a hot summer day when I decide to go. I went for dinner and had the vermicelli with beef and spring rolls. The price was great, I could not ask for a better serving. My date had the phở soup, I tasted it and it was delicious! So overall great food, and friendly staff, great place to stop into. A must try!

Delicious Phở and friendly service — who can ask for anything more on a ridiculously cold January day? I wish they were more abundant with their beef, but the amount they provide is probably healthier for me — and the real attraction of Phở is the broth. The lemongrass/garlic combination wreaks havoc on my breath, but it delights my palate. They also have a standard selection of Vietnamese drinks, including Vietnamese coffee. I look forward to trying more items on their menu. They just need to improve their musical selection — though the muzak version of Copacabana playing in the background reminds me of the multiple restaurants in Southeast Asia that I ate at which played the same mix cd consisting of the same soft rock favourites — I never need to hear«Massachusetts» by the Bee Gees ever again.
