Excellent service. As always, Jessica P. is an outstanding stylist. It took me almost four years of living in this province to find the perfect one. Only two others were decent all around in other cities. She is literally one of the best and it is shocking for her age. She’s talented, professional, punctual and listens to the client and does exactly what they want and need. As far as I’m concerned she should get some sort of bonus for being as good as she is at her age, and trust me, I have used many hair stylists over the years. I have been with her a couple of years now and travel from other cities to see her whenever possible. All around though, the service is great here and I will not easily leave to go somewhere else. I should also mention, I have my hair done every two weeks because I am 100% grey. Just so you have some idea of how much I used her service.

There is no way to say this kindly. The staff I was assigned to didn’t come across as able to understand much of what I said and that doesn’t commonly happen to me. Even in general conversation the person seemed confused. I did like that they didn’t over push products. My hair cut was nothing special but it was above average. I found their prices reasonable although twice they have only been able to take cash which caused a bit of a challenge.

I have had a few more visits with this salon and wanted to update my review. I definitely agree with the other reviewers that comment on the salon’s inconsistency in regards to price and billing. I really had to check my bill each time I got my hair done, it seems like it was never the same. Between my first and second visits there was a considerable price increase that I got hit with at the till(detailed in my previous review). On my next visit I got double charged for toner and had to get the receptionist to fix the bill. At another visit I got the same cut I always do but the stylist charged me half price because it was so quick — why did I pay full on my previous visits? When leaving the salon I have generally been satisfied with my hair, but after a few visits my stylist started interrupting me when I was explaining what I wanted done with my hair, or didn’t ask at all and just started applying foils when I sat in the chair. It got a little stressful making sure I was understood because I had so many events over the year where I wanted my hair to look good in photos. My toner was changed prior to my engagement photos and I wasn’t told until after my hair was dry. I liked the color better, but would have preferred to be informed before the chemicals went on my hair. On one haircut I said I wanted to grow out the pieces along my face, so she cut the back but not the front, leaving a one inch length difference and ragged pieces with different lengths. Easily fixed before I left, but I was shocked this was considered a good cut. When I tried to communicate that I wanted my hair toned to a less brassy blond after a few months of sun, my stylist suggested a «base lift». She only said that it would make my hair look natural and did not tell me that it involved bleaching my entire head of hair(which I would have never agreed to if I had known, and I was treated at a bench without a mirror, so I had no idea what was being done). The reactions from my friends and family to this undesired super-blonde were not positive, to say the least. These experiences are very stylist specific, but the problems with price inconsistencies is something that can definitely be addressed. Always having to watch my bill, and the worry that I was going to be overcharged when their prices are already high created a lack of trust, and I have moved on to a different salon where I feel more comfortable.
