November Challenge — 3⁄30 As soon as I walked over to Choklat’s stall at the Calgary Farmers Market, I knew my wallet was in trouble. I am a confessed Chocoholic with no plans for recovery, though I’m more than happy to share my stash at a meeting :). I had been taking my cousin that I hadn’t seen in 15 years on a food tour of Calgary, since it was too snowy and cold to do much of anything else. Choklat made this all seem like a wise decision. Brad is the kind of guy that you feel like could sell snow to a Calgarian. Chocolate to a Chocoholic? Seems easy enough… but he was there surrounded by not *just* chocolate, but bars of gleaming blue and gold deliciousness that were $ 11.70 apiece. Almost $ 12 for ONE bar of chocolate? It had better be the best chocolate of my life, Brad! «Oh it is,» He reassured me. This was because these fancy bars were no ordinary chocolate, nay, these were bars of 70% Porcelana. THEHOLYGRAILOFCHOCOLATE. (It says so on the back of the bar, and who am I to argue?) Porcelana gets its name because the cocoa beans are a pearly white. It’s one of the rarest strains in the world. Presented in bar form for you and me. Brad said the taste is unlike any other chocolate you have ever had, very fruity, almost like wine and caramel. I gleefully brought this bar home and shared it with friends and family. Because keeping this deliciousness all to myself would just be bad form. No doubt, it was everything it was described to be and more. While not my favorite chocolate ever, it was definitely an amazing taste experience and a must try for others seeking to scratch their Choco-Itch. And best of all? The ingredients are completely Vegan and dairy-free(for you Chocofiends that are Vegan like me, or Lactose Intolerant): 40% Cacau, 30% Cocoa Butter, 29.6% Sugar, 0.04% Madagascan Vanilla Lovingly made right here in Calgary! 100% Delicious. YOUWINTHISTIME, BRAD!
