Cuccinetta is such an amazing restaurant, we were told about this place by close friends of ours and it apparently has a 2 chefs hat. Well I must say the food was amazingly mouthwatering, my wife an I had the farm fresh figs for entrée, the lamb and pork belly for main and the chocolate fondant, with the pear and raspberry crumble for desert. It’s was just heavenly, I could not believe how WOW the food tasted… It was almost like I was trying the flavors for the first time ever. We also had the pleasure of meeting chef Vincenzo, he is such a gentleman and really does have a great passion and pride in his work. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again when we come to sydney, I think now it is one of our favorites. Definitely a must eat when in the area and a gorgeous short ferry trip from CBD.

I went here for dinner with my hubby and in laws. It’s an adorable place with a killer view. Oh, and the food is good too. I ordered the pasta with wagyu beef ragu. I thought it was slightly under-spiced, but still delicious. The portion was huge and I finished it. My hubby won the ordering competition though, with his lamb. Wow that thing is good! It’s juicy, falls right off the bone and is delicious. I was jealous. Another highlight were the olives with ricotta. The ricotta was especially creamy and smooth. I was also happy to find a really good wine list. They even had a bottle of Barbera on the list, which I don’t see often. The staff was also really friendly and happy to help. When we got there at 8pm, every table was filled. We had a reservation so it wasn’t a problem, but it wouldn’t have worked as a walk-in. So just make sure to call ahead with a reservation.

Wow. A simply gorgeous view of the city, perfectly matched by a brilliant food and wine menu. Cucinetta has captured the purity of Italian cooking with fresh produce, minimal ingredients and passionate cooking. We were a group of five and started with a mixed entrée of stuffed Calamari and white beans, pork sausage, fried zucchini flowers and salmon. Each amazing and unique. For main i enjoyed the slow roasted lamb shoulder which melted away in your mouth. friends enjoyed the spanner crab pasta. The service was great; attentive and knowledgeable on wine and food menu. Great place to take new comers to Sydney the view is sensational perhaps followed by a walk along the foreshore or a ferry ride into the city or cockatoo island.

One of the most authentic Italian restaurants I’ve been to in Sydney, if not THE most. Went here for a girls lunch a few weeks back and really enjoyed ourselves. We got the group menu where we could choose 2 courses from either entrée and main or main and dessert. I’m a savoury girl so I went entrée and main. Bread and olive oil(something I’ve grown to love since my Italy visit) was a perfect starter. The bread roll provided was huge and dense and was the perfect thing to fill my stomach(and to absorb all the wine) while we waited for the entrée. The olive oil wasn’t the most flavourful but they bring out a little flake salt and that was just the touch it needed. The mozzarella winter salad was just ok. There wasn’t enough other stuff in the dish to make it flavourful. It was just a little bland unfortunately. But my gnocchi? My special– not on the menu but they were happy to accomodate my diet– gnocchi was oh so yum. Everyone else really seemed to like their food– they even had wild boar ragu which I may have tried if I actually ate pork. Unless you like drinking paint thinner that has gone off… stay away from the grappa espresso. I don’t know what I was thinking ordering this… I hated it in Italy and it was no better in Australia. I think I was a little too tipsy at the end of my meal and just wanted to feel like I was really back in Italy –the part of Italy that I found most disgusting. That’s not saying anything bad about the grappa and espresso at Cucinetta, I’m sure if you like off paint thinner, you’ll love theirs. Definitely a great spot for BYO groups. Right on the water with a beautiful view and the Italian servers were friendly and accommodating.
