A genuine Irish fish and chip shop — they make the best Irish style curry chips south of the equator! Fish is great too. They also have all the paraphernalia such as buckfast tonic wine, Barry’s tea and much more. It’s a welcome shot of nostalgia :)

Keep wanting this place to WOW me. Don’t get me wrong the fish is great and the service is nice and friendly. Good local atmosphere and family owned. However it isn’t reminiscent of the fish in chips I’ve had in the UK. We will be continuing our search for a good local chippy.

O’Connor’s Traditional Fish and Chips is a shop in Windsor run by an Irish couple, serving British style fish and chips. My husband loves this place a lot and says it’s very similar to the fish and chips he ate in England(my mother-in-law is British). Apparently there’s quite a following of Irish and English ex-pats, who all frequent this takeaway and the staff are all Irish(or at least they were the night we came in). The shop is in a little complex with a number of other restaurants. Turn at Le Geyt Street and you can pull into the carpark at the back of this complex, as Lutwyche Road is too busy to stop along. They serve Haddock as well as local fish like Hoki, Barramundi and Snapper. There’s a lack of Cod on the menu, though they do sell Smoked Cod. There’s Curry sauce and Mushy peas as sides and delicious thick cut chips. Plenty of brown sauce, ketchup and malt vinegar on the tables too, so you can drown your chips in the vinegar and have a real British fish & chip experience. Wash it all down with a Tizer or other fizzy drinks from the UK. The Fish Supper is only $ 11.90 and is a decent sized meal — fish of the day, chips and peas. O’Connor’s also serve deep fried Scottish delicacies, like Battered Sausage, Battered White and Black pudding and Battered Haggis And there’s also a range of pies and pasties for $ 5.90. Half of the shop is for the takeaway and casual dining; the other half of the shop is the Restaurant. There is a Steak House«coming soon». They also serve a breakfast menu and coffee from 6:30am weekdays. The couple who own O’Connor’s, Liz and Chris O’Connor are also the owners of Celtic Koala — an Irish & British grocery store which is just up the road a bit.
