Eugene made an amazing cappuccino. Roma was a lovely hostess. Just found out that Thursday nights are Chili nights. Going back for sure. Happiness is finding little quaint spots like these.

What an interesting find. It’s certainly not your usual chapel st brunch affair. The first good sign is the heap of homemade food all over the place. Loads of sweet treats, main meals and pastries. Yum. It was quiet when we went. Really quiet. We were almost the only people there during peak Saturday morning brunch. But after our meals I was surprised that it was so empty. The food is good. Different, but good I had fried eggs with ratatouille served on pita bread. There was some hummus in their too and a bunch of other interesting flavours. The pita was super overcooked — so crispy that when you cut it it flew all over the place. Hilarious, but not particularly delicious. But I persevered and all was ok. What a yummy dish. The only other down side was the price — close to $ 20 a dish it was super expensive compared to other venues in the area. Coffee was great and I couldn’t resist taking away a choc coated florentine. It was delicious!

A very nice little spot. Excellent coffee and delicious muffins. The owner is extremely friendly and is willing to have conversations. It nicely priced. Overall a goof place to stop for a morning coffee.

Pretty awesome; I actually sat down here and spent a breakfast proper. I chose the huervos rancheros — that’s the wrong spelling, but it’s the dish that;s the mexican inspired breakfast. The best thing is that they use real authentic chorizo sausage– the depth of flavour is the proof. This actually was so good, that it proved to be the choice for everyone else on my table. There were four of us. Eugene must of been working hard that day. I still am wanting to try every single tea on the menu, including the windsor breakfast. Coffee is quite good!

I like the feel of this place and the milky coffees are probably ok but I wouldn’t fork out full price for an espresso from here. Great café food though.

Eugene you Genius! After looking deeper than the clever name, the true genius embodied in this humble café can be seen. The more I come here the more I realise that Eugene has created a working art piece and not just a café. Discovery is what keeps life interesting, so get on your bike, enjoy some locally sourced produce and be surrounded by an environment that is both thought provoking and inspirational. I believe everyone should take a leaf out of his book(or even buy a copy).

Eugenius is my kind of café. Secret location, cutely miscellaneous décor, a colourful menu that doesn’t rely too much on meat or bread, and *supremely* excellent soy coffee! Their specialty are their wraps that they call«rollies». There’s also a list of funny teas and their brownies are of some repute. Don’t’ come here if you’re in a rush though, there’s only one or two set of hands running the show at the kitchen which doubles as a counter, so service require some patience. This hasn’t bothered me at all though because each time I was looking for a peaceful place to mull over some reading material and a slow lunch. My only nitpick was the house cat that made its bed under my chair. I’m extremely allergic and had to ask the owners to shoo him away.

Tucked away off the main drag of Chapel street, Eugenius is equal parts delicious, convenient and eclectic. When no other venue in town is open and serving coffee(think Christmas Day), you’ll find Eugenius open. The owners work in the café(and I suspect live upstairs too) and provide the place with the kind of service that makes you feel more like you’re at your eccentric friend’s house rather than somewhere that involves handing over cash at the end of your stay. Coffee here is significantly above average and the food fresh and tasty. I’m only sad I didn’t try this place sooner!
